World Youth Day 2027 will be a Catholic festival taking place in Seoul, South Korea. This was announced by Pope Francis at the end of the closing Mass of World Youth Day 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal. It will also be the first WYD to take place in Asia since Manila in 1995 as well as the first to ever take place in a Christian-minority country.

The Seoul International Youth Film Festival (SIYFF) is the biggest youth film festival in Korea and has provided a venue for youths to share their culture via films and media education since 1999. It aims to promote broader international exchanges among talented cine kids and establish network to improve their competitiveness in the film industry.

EBS International Documentary Festival also known as EIDF, is an annual film festival hosted by the Educational Broadcasting System of South Korea since 2004. It is "Asia’s prestigious documentary festival", with focus on highlighting documentary films on Asia or made in Asia. It is open to countries from around the world. In addition to screenings and broadcasts, EIDF events also include master classes and workshops. 15th edition of festival was held from August 20 to August 26, 2018. 72 films from 33 countries were screened during the event in theaters as well as through TV via EBS local news channels and live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook.

Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station (을지로입구역) is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 2. The station is located on the north end of the Myeongdong shopping district and is the station closest to the main branch of the Lotte Department Store.

Da-dong is a legal dong, or neighbourhood of the Jung-gu district in Seoul, South Korea and governed by its administrative dong, Myeong-dong.

Hadongkwan (Korean: 하동관; Hanja: 河東館; RR: Hadonggwan) is a historic Korean restaurant in Myeong-dong, Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. The restaurant was founded in 1939, and specializes in the ox bone soup dish gomtang. It is currently listed on the Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant. It is reportedly only open for lunch time, and closes whenever it runs out of food. The restaurant was founded by Ryu Chang-hui (류창희), the daughter of a wealthy family in Seoul. She handed the restaurant off to her friend's daughter-in-law, who in turn passed the restaurant onto Kim Hui-yeong (김희영) in 1968. Kim was reportedly preparing to hand the restaurant onto her daughter by 2008. The restaurant was originally located in Sunhwa-dong, but moved to Myeong-dong in June 2007. The restaurant reportedly frequently has famous customers. It was reportedly favored by South Korean leader Park Chung Hee and his wife Yuk Young-soo. According to the restaurant's owner, every South Korean president except for Roh Moo-hyun and Lee Myung-bak dined at the restaurant. The restaurant owners reportedly intentionally avoid opening more locations or franchising, in order to avoid diluting the taste or service. The restaurant was recognized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government as an "Oraegage", or a "Seoul Historical Store". The designation recognizes long-running businesses and provides resources to keep them in operation.

Myeongdong (Korean: 명동; Hanja: 明洞; lit. 'bright cave' or 'bright tunnel') is a dong in Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea between Chungmu-ro, Eulji-ro, and Namdaemun-ro. It covers 0.99km² with a population of 3,409 and is mostly a commercial area, being one of Seoul's main shopping, parade route and tourism districts. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, Myeong-dong was listed as the ninth most expensive shopping street in the world. The area is known for its two historically significant sites, namely the Myeongdong Cathedral and the Myeongdong Nanta Theatre.

The Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) is a South Korean deposit insurance corporation, established in 1996 to protect depositors and maintain the stability of the financial system. The main functions of KDIC are insurance management, risk surveillance, resolution, recovery, and investigation.

Bosingak is a large bell pavilion on Jongno in Seoul, South Korea. The bell in Bosingak gives Jongno its name, which literally means "bell street". It was originally constructed in 1396 but destroyed many times by both war and fire. It was designated Bosingak by Emperor Gojong in 1895. In the Joseon Dynasty, this bell was at the center of the castle town. The bell was struck to announce the opening and closing of the four gates around Seoul. At 4 am and 10 pm the bell was struck 33 times and gates were opened and closed. It was used as a fire alarm as well. In modern times, the bell is rung only at midnight on New Year's Eve. Because of the massive number of people who attend this ceremony, Metro trains on Line 1 of the Seoul Subway do not stop at Jonggak Station on New Year's Eve.

La Cantina (Korean: 라칸티나) is a historic Italian restaurant in Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. It is the oldest Italian restaurant in South Korea, having been founded in 1967. The restaurant was designated a Seoul Future Heritage site by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The business was founded by Lee Jae-du (이재두). It has remained in the same location since its founding; its interior decoration has reportedly remained much the same since its founding. Initially, because Italian food ingredients were so uncommon in Seoul around the time of the restaurant's founding, it had to substitute ingredients that it could not find otherwise. For example, it reportedly used noodles similar to that of the Korean noodle dish kal-guksu in place of the Italian noodles linguine; eventually the restaurant made the food more authentic. In 1982, Lee's son Tae-hoon (이태훈) inherited the business; Tae-hoon fully took over operations after his father died in 2013. The restaurant had a branch in Gangnam District that closed in 1998, amidst the 1997 Asian financial crisis. In 2016, it was reported that the restaurant's employees were mostly long-time staff; the average age of the workers was in the 50s, and the youngest worker was in their mid-40s.

Jonggak Station is a station on the Line 1 of the Seoul Subway in South Korea. It is located on Jongno, central Seoul and comprises a large underground arcade. The second-largest book shop in South Korea, the Bandi & Luni's lying under the Jongno Tower, which in turn is just above this station, is directly accessible from the station. On every New Year's Day, the bell ceremony (Jeyaeui Jong Tajongsik) is held at Boshingak, the nearby bell pavilion. (The name of the station comes from this pavilion, jong meaning bell and gak pavilion.) At those times the area is so crowded with tens of thousands of Seoulites that trains do not stop at Jonggak as to avoid any accidents.

Hwangudan Altar, located in Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea, was built in 1897 to serve as a site for the performance of the rite of heaven. The site was also known by other names, such as Wongudan (원구단, 圜丘壇), Jecheondan (제천단, 祭天壇) and Wondan (원단, 圜壇). Hwangudan was designated South Korea's Historic Site No. 157 on July 15, 1967.
