Enoch Cree Nation 135

The Enoch Cree Nation #440 (Cree: ᒪᐢᑫᑯᓯᐦᐠ, maskêkosihk) is a First Nations band government in Alberta, Canada. Members of the Nation are of Cree ancestry and speak the Plains Cree dialect of the Cree language group. The band is a signatory of Treaty 6 and is a member of the Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations. The chief of the Enoch Cree Nation is Cody Thomas.

The electoral district was created in 2003 from St. Albert, Edmonton Southwest and Edmonton West ridings. It was abolished in 2013. Most of the Edmonton portion became part of a recreated Edmonton West, with a small portion transferring to Edmonton Centre. The suburban portion became part of Sturgeon River—Parkland.

Acheson is a locality and an industrial area in Alberta, Canada, within Parkland County.Acheson is located on the Canadian National (CN) main line and Highway 60 (Devonian Way) between Highway 16A (Parkland Highway) and Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway). It is 3.2 km (2.0 mi) west of the City of Edmonton, 5.7 km (3.5 mi) east of the City of Spruce Grove, and 20 km (12 mi) north of the Town of Devon. The locality is named after A. Acheson Tisdal, a railway official. Acheson was founded as a repair facility for CN, with industrial development following in the 1970s. It is recognized as a major employment area by the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board.

It is located approximately 3.1 km (1.9 mi) west of the city of Edmonton, Alberta and 5.9 km (3.7 mi) north of the town of Devon, in Parkland County.

Parkland Airport (TC LID: CPL6) is a registered aerodrome located 5 nautical miles (9.3 km; 5.8 mi) southeast of Spruce Grove in Parkland County, Alberta, Canada. It opened in November 2013, when the Edmonton City Centre Airport closed. The Edmonton Flying Club is located at the aerodrome.According to a CTV News report from November 2013 the airport had the Transport Canada location identifier of CPL6. However, the aerodrome and code did not appear in the Canada Flight Supplement until April 3, 2014.

Osborne Acres is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Parkland County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the west side of Range Road 264, 1.0 km (0.62 mi) south of Highway 16.

Wagner Natural Area is a provincially designated protected area in the Canadian province of Alberta, 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) west of Edmonton. It contains 130 hectares (320 acres) of land and predominantly comprises calcareous fens alongside marl ponds, wetland meadows, and forests of black spruce and tamarack. In 1987, it was designated as a Natural Area under the Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Natural Areas and Heritage Rangelands Act. Purchased by the Alberta provincial government in 1971, it is administered by the Wagner Natural Area Society (WNAS) and the Natural Resources Service of Alberta Environment. The most important feature of the area are the fens, which are now uncommon around Edmonton. The designation of the site as a natural area was primarily for the preservation of the fens. However one issue unresolved by the protective designation is that most of the groundwater reservoirs that feed the fens are outside of the Wagner Natural Area itself.Although bogs and fens are not uncommon in Alberta, Wagner Natural Area is notable as the only mineral-rich fen within 160 kilometres (99 mi) of Edmonton and one of the only sites east of the Rocky Mountains and south of Fort McMurray. As a result of its unique biophysical properties, unusually high biodiversity for an area of its size, and convenient location to major population centres, Wagner Natural Area is one of the most extensively studied natural areas in Alberta. It is also recognized as an Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network site.
