Universidad de Chile metro station

The Casa Central de la Universidad de Chile, also known as Palacio de la Universidad de Chile, is the main building for the Universidad de Chile, and is located at 1058 Alameda Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins, in Santiago, Chile. The building dates from 1872, and currently houses the rectorate, rooms used for ceremonial events and the Andrés Bello Archives, so-named to honor the lawyer who founded the university. It was declared a National Monument of Chile in 1974. The adjacent Universidad de Chile metro station was named after the building.

The Club de la Unión is a gentlemen's club in Santiago, Chile. The name derives from the fact the club united rich men coming together from opposing political parties. Club members met for the first time on July 8, 1864 and its first president was Manuel José Yrarrázaval Larraín. The club was housed in different locations through downtown Santiago for the first decades. Its current housing was completed in 1925 and was declared a national monument in 1981.

Edificio Ariztía is a building located at 52 Nueva York Street in downtown Santiago, Chile, on a wedge-shaped city block. It was completed in 1921 and is considered the first "skyscraper" in Santiago. The building, constructed in reinforced concrete, was the first office building in Santiago with an elevator.

Instituto Nacional General José Miguel Carrera, often shortened to Instituto Nacional (National Institute), is a public boys' school in downtown Santiago, Chile which teaches 4.400 students between 7th and 12th grade. 170 teachers are employed.The school was founded on August 10, 1813 by José Miguel Carrera. Its official name is Liceo Ex A-0 - Instituto Nacional General José Miguel Carrera. The Instituto Nacional is one of the few public schools in Chile's largely privatized educational landscape. The school played a role in the long-running student protests for fairer education policies in 2006. When the protests began in 2019 with the increase in metro prices, the students at the Instituto Nacional called for collective fare evasion.

The Iglesia de las Agustinas is a Catholic church, located in downtown Santiago, Chile. The church was declared as a National Monument in 1977.

The Edificio Ex Hotel Mundial is a former hotel building in Santiago, Chile. Located on a triangular lot, the building was commissioned by La Mundial Insurance Company and built in 1920–1923. In 1935, the building was offered for rental and operated as a hotel until 1975.It is close to the Iglesia de las Agustinas. The building shares a similar architectural style with the building housing the Santiago Stock Exchange and the Club de la Unión, all of which are located in the same area as the Edificio Ariztía, which is bordered by the Paseo Ahumada to the east and the Alameda Avenue to the south. The main corner of the building features a cylindrical structure, which is adorned with pilasters and topped with a cupola.

Barrio París-Londres is a barrio located in Santiago, Chile. The neighborhood intersects at Calle Londres and Calle París, located behind the San Francisco Church, in its former orchard. Barrio París-Londres features shops, hostels, hotels and cobble stone streets with renovated mansions, reminiscent of the Latin Quarter in Paris, France. The barrio was developed in 1923 by a group of architects, and consists of only two streets. The building at Calle Londres 38/40 is a former jail and torture facility, used during the Pinochet regime. Tiles in front of the building depict the names of former political prisoners who were held there.

Londres 38 is a building that was used by the National Intelligence Directorate (DINA) as a detention and torture center for opponents of Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship. The facility is located in downtown Santiago, Chile, and was known in DINA's jargon by the code name Yucatán.

Museo Colonial (English: Colonial Museum) is a historical, cultural and religious museum located in Santiago, Chile. The museum explores the colonial period of Chile and South America, with a collection of paintings, sculpture, furniture and other objects. Many of the pieces are religious, and were created in Peru, the former colonial capital. The museum also features a genealogical tree of the Franciscan Order which is "gigantic" in size and includes 644 miniature portraits.The museum is housed in the convent adjacent to San Francisco Church.

The San Francisco Church (Spanish: Iglesia de San Francisco) is a Franciscan church on Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, in the downtown of Santiago de Chile. The church, along with the adjacent convent, is one of the oldest colonial-era buildings in the country. It has been resistant to about 15 earthquakes of magnitude over 7.

The Edificio de la Intendencia Metropolitana is a government building housing the Intendencia for the Santiago Metropolitan Region, in Santiago, Chile. It is located in the very heart of the civic district of Santiago, at 93 Morandé Street–at the southeast corner of Morandé and Moneda streets–, close to the Palacio de La Moneda. It was originally built to house El Diario Ilustrado, a newspaper that occupied the building until 1928, when the newspaper owners sold the building to the government of Chile to accommodate offices for the Intendencia de Santiago.

The Bernardo O'Higgins monument is a bronze sculpture on a marble base that represents the moment in which Bernardo O'Higgins crossed over a defeated enemy of the royalist troops with his horse in the Battle of Rancagua in 1814. It is located in the Alameda in front of the Palacio de La Moneda, in the Plaza de la Ciudadanía in the city of Santiago, Chile. Made by the French sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, it was inaugurated on May 19, 1872. Its pedestal presents four bas-reliefs that represent the life of the hero, two of them made by the Chilean sculptor Nicanor Plaza. It was inaugurated on May 19, 1872.
