Golconda Skate Park, known as Fat Kid, is a public skate park in the Downtown Brooklyn/Fort Greene neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York City, that originated as a DIY skate spot. Built under the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, the 18,000 square foot professionally built skate park was completed in 2016 and sits within Golconda Playground.

Brooklyn International High School (BIHS, school code: K439) is a public high school in Brooklyn, New York City. It is a part of the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) and the Internationals Network for Public Schools.The school is located within the Water’s Edge Educational Campus, a former torpedo factory in downtown Brooklyn. It shares its campus with the Science Skills Center and the Urban Assembly High School of Music and Art.

Khalil Gibran International Academy is a public school in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, New York City, New York that opened in September 2007 with about 60 sixth grade students. As the first English-Arabic public school in the country to offer a curriculum emphasizing the study of Arabic language and culture, it was placed at the center of controversy by opponents. Khalil Gibran, the school's namesake, was a Lebanese-American poet. The committee that designed the school included the original principal Debbie Almontaser (a former teacher and community activist) and several nonprofit groups, including Lutheran Medical Center, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Salaam Club of New York, and the lead partner, the Arab American Family Support Center, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit.Khalil Gibran International Academy transitioned to a public high school in 2012 and became an IB World School in 2015, making it one of the first public schools in NYC to offer the rigorous IB Diploma Programme.

The Wunsch Building of New York University Tandon School of Engineering is the present name of the former Bridge Street Methodist Church, a former Methodist church located at 311 Bridge Street, on the east side between Johnson Street and Myrtle Avenue, in Downtown Brooklyn, New York City. The Greek Revival temple was erected 1844. It is also recorded as the First Congregational Church. The building dates to 1847 and was the first independent black church in Brooklyn. It was also a stop on the Underground Railroad and has been designated a historic landmark since November 24, 1981.The former church was recorded in the AIA Guide to New York City (1977) as the NYU Tandon School of Engineering annex. "A Greek Revival temple in brick with wood columns and entablature: chaste, excepting the later Victorian stained glass, which is exuberant even from the outside."The church building is now called the Wunsch Building and houses the school's Undergraduate Admissions offices. It is used to host many social, cultural, and academic events for the school and community.

Myrtle Avenue was a local station on the Manhattan Bridge subway tracks (B, ​D​, N, and ​Q trains) in Brooklyn, New York City, at the southern end of the bridge.

George Westinghouse Jr. High School of Career and Technical Education is a vocational high school in Downtown Brooklyn, New York, United States. It is located at 105 Tech Place, south of Tillary Street and east of Jay Street. It is named after the electrical pioneer George Westinghouse Jr. The school was one of a number of New York City public schools that dropped Native American-themed sports team names.

The current Bishop of Brooklyn is Robert J. Brennan. Brooklyn is one of the few dioceses in the United States that is made up of 100% urban territory.The Bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn, presides from both the Cathedral Basilica of St. James and the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph. This atypical arrangement was required due to the small size of the Cathedral Basilica of St. James. St. Joseph's Church was designated as a Co-Cathedral for the Diocese of Brooklyn on February 14, 2013, by Pope Benedict XVI after Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio petitioned the Vatican.

Bridge-Jay Street was a station on the demolished BMT Myrtle Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. It had 2 tracks and 1 island platform. It was opened on April 10, 1888 as Jay Street, and served Myrtle Avenue Line trains as well as the BMT Lexington Avenue Line, and until it was demolished in 1940, the BMT Fifth Avenue Line, which itself also served BMT Culver Line trains. From 1944 until its demolition in 1969, it had a free transfer to the IND Fulton Street and IND Culver lines at Jay Street – Borough Hall. Around that time, it was renamed "Bridge-Jay Street." The next stop to the north was Navy Street for trains traveling on the Lexington & Myrtle Avenue Lines, and Fulton Street other trains until its demolition in 1940. The next stop to the south was Adams Street. The station was closed on October 4, 1969, after a fire on the elevated structure.

The Cathedral Basilica of St. James is the cathedral church of the Diocese of Brooklyn. It is located at the corner of Jay Street and Cathedral Place in Downtown Brooklyn, New York City. It was built in 1903 and designed by George H. Streeton in the Neo-Georgian style.

Commodore Barry Park is an urban park in the Fort Greene neighborhood of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The park is operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. It encompasses an area of 10.39 acres (42,000 m2) and holds baseball, basketball, football, swimming pool and playground fields/facilities. The park was acquired in 1836 by the Village of Brooklyn (long before it was absorbed into New York City). When first acquired, it was called "City Park". It is the oldest park in the borough, and it was named for Commodore John Barry in 1951 due to its location next to the Brooklyn Navy Yard that Barry helped found.
