Vista Unified School District is a public school district headquartered in Vista, California, United States. It serves sections of northern San Diego County. The Vista Unified School District is the 4th largest school district in San Diego County and includes 32 schools with diverse educational programs for kindergarten through adult education students. VUSD has 17 elementary schools, three magnet schools, four middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, three alternative high schools, two special education schools and one adult school. VUSD serves more than 23,000 students and 2,000 adult education students in Vista, as well as sections of Oceanside, San Marcos, Carlsbad and some unincorporated areas of the County.

Rancho Buena Vista was a 2,288-acre (9.26 km2) Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California given in 1845 by Governor Pío Pico to Felipe, an Indian. The name means "good view" in Spanish. The grant was south of San Luis Rey River and Rancho Monserate and encompassed present day Vista.

Although its mailing address lists Vista as the city, it is the only station along the entire line to be situated in an unincorporated portion of San Diego County. It consists of a single platform and track.

Bonsall is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Diego County, California. The population was 3,982 at the 2010 census, up from 3,401 at the 2000 census. The Bonsall area was heavily affected by the Lilac Fire in December 2017, which burned 4,100 acres.

Margarita Lookout, also known as Santa Margarita Lookout, is a lookout point in the Santa Margarita Mountains, part of the larger Santa Ana Mountains in San Diego County, California. The original fire lookout tower, built in 1935 by the CCC, was later replaced by a new lookout tower and cabin in 1965. In 1986, the tower and cabin were both burned in a wildfire. In 1988, the burnt tower was destroyed in a collision with a Marine Corps CH-46E helicopter. The lookout tower was badly damaged as a result and was promptly removed. Only a concrete foundation remains today, however the site is still accessible via trail (Margarita Road/Truck Trail). The lookout is approximately one mile north of Margarita Peak, and is located in the Cleveland National Forest.

Civic Center–Vista station (previously known as Escondido Avenue station and Civic Center Drive station) is a station in Vista, California that is served by North County Transit District's SPRINTER hybrid rail line. The station is located at 810 Phillips Street. Although the Sprinter began service in March 2008, the eastbound platform of the station remained closed for several months due to construction to improve its platform. It finally opened in September of the same year. The street Escondido Avenue was renamed Civic Center Drive in 2010 in light of the construction of a large city hall complex, and the station's name was changed to reflect this. The station was again renamed Civic Center–Vista to differentiate it from the San Marcos Civic Center station.

Vista Transit Center is a station located in Vista, California, served by North County Transit District's SPRINTER hybrid rail line and BREEZE bus line. The station is located midpoint between the rail line's western terminus at Oceanside Transit Center and eastern terminus at Escondido Transit Center. A preview Sprinter service stopped at Vista Transit Center on December 28, 2007, and regular service commenced March 9, 2008.

Guajome Park Academy (commonly referred to as Guajome or GPA) is a K–12 public charter school in Vista, California, United States that was established in 1994. It offers the IB Diploma Programme for eleventh- and twelfth-graders. During the 2004-2005 school year, 1,238 students were enrolled: 530 in the middle school and 708 in the high school.[1]The school is named after nearby Guajome County Park. The name "Guajome" comes from the Luiseño Indian word wakhavumi meaning "frog pond". In the Luiseño story of creation, Wahawut was one of the "First People" who took on the appearance of a frog to cast a spell over the god Oiyot; consequently, the school's mascot is a frog.
