Chalakkal

The MES College Marampally, is an institute of higher education located in Kerala, India between Aluva and Perumbavoor. It was founded in 1995 and is managed by Muslim Educational Society and affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The College has been reaccredited by NAAC with A+ Grade (CGPA, 3.38) which is the first ever highest grade in the State as per the revised process of accreditation. The governance and the management of the college are anchored in the principles of Muslim Educational Society (Regd.), Calicut which is one of the largest minority educational agencies in Kerala. The establishment facilitated new directions in the field of higher education by offering a significant number of vocational (Model II) and technical programmes in tune with the demands of job market.

Chowara Chidambaraswamy Temple is located at Chowwara in Ernakulam district. The presiding deities of north shrine are Shiva in the form of Nataraja, in the sanctum sanctorum facing east. It is believed that this temple is one of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala and is installed by sage Parasurama dedicated to Shiva. Maha Shivarathri festival of the temple celebrates in the Malayalam month of Kumbha (February - March).

Chembarakky is town on Aluva-Munnar Highway (SH-16) between Perumbavoor and Aluva. Chembarakky junction is where bus route to Ernakulam from Perumbavoor diverges from Perumbavoor-Aluva route.

The CIAL Solar Power Project is a 50 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power station built at Cochin International Airport, India, by the company Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL). Cochin International Airport became the first fully solar powered airport in the world with the commissioning the plant.
