Upland station

The Carnegie Library, historically known as the Upland Public Library, is a Carnegie library located at 123 East D Street in Upland, California. Built in 1913, the library was the first public building in Upland. Architect Homer W. Glidden designed the library in the Classical Revival style. The library's design features a projecting central entrance with a plain frieze supported by two columns and brick pilasters, a stucco parapet extending around most of the building, and a cornice set above dentils. The building served as a library until 1969, when the library moved to a new building. The City of Upland still owns the building and rents it to the public for community events. It is also used by the Upland Public Library to house its Literacy Program.The library was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 10, 1990.

Upland is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States on the border with neighboring Los Angeles County. The municipality is located at an elevation of 1,242 feet (379 m). As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 79,040, up from 73,732 at the 2010 census and 68,393 at the 2000 census. Upland was incorporated as a city on May 15, 1906; it previously was named North Ontario. Upland is located at the foot of the highest part of the San Gabriel Mountains and is part of the Inland Empire, a metropolitan area situated directly east of Greater Los Angeles.

Western Christian High School, also known as Western Christian Schools, is a co-educational private Christian high school in Upland, California. The school was established in 1920. Western Christian also has a middle school, elementary school and preschool in Claremont, California. In 2020, the superintendent was John Attwood.In 1970, Western Christian High School moved to real estate formerly used by Azusa Pacific College, where the enrollment that year was of about 235 students. The school at the time had a choir of about 50 students, called the Good News Singers. Bill May was the principal at the time. By 1992, the school's choir had 54 members.In 1997, it started a home-schooling program called Western Christian PSP (Private Satellite Program), in association with the founders of that program, Marilyn and Bill Stephens. The Western Christian PSP later became Legacy Christian School Private Satellite Program.In 2005, the cheerleading coach was Jaime Fulton, who lead a 20-girl squad. In 2013, the American Legion nominated Western Christian students to the California American Legion Boys State, which was held in Sacramento. Despite campaigning, the Western Christian students did not win elections there.

San Antonio Regional Hospital (SARH), previously known as San Antonio Community Hospital, is an acute, full service medical center in Upland, California.The hospital offers a comprehensive range of general medical and surgical services, along with cardiac care, cancer care, orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, maternity and neonatal care, and emergency services. It was founded in 1907 at 792 W. Arrow Highway by Dr. William H. Craig with only 18 beds and 5 physicians.SARH also owns several satellite facilities throughout the surrounding community including Rancho San Antonio Medical Plaza in the city of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Sierra San Antonio Medical Plaza in the city of Fontana, California, and Eastvale San Antonio Medical Plaza in the city of Eastvale, California, effectively giving them a regional monopoly.

The Old San Antonio Hospital is a historic building located at 792 West Arrow Highway in Upland, California. Built in 1907, the building served as Upland's first hospital. Prominent Southern California architect Myron Hunt designed the building, which makes extensive use of riverbed rock, a common local building material. The building's design features an entrance portico with stone columns, French doors along the length of the south wall, projecting eaves with carved beams, and three gable roofs extending from a central hip roof. The building served as Upland's only hospital until 1924, when a newer hospital replaced it; it functioned as a resort for the next eleven years and has since been used by various religious organizations.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 2, 1980.

Madonna of the Trail is a series of 12 identical monuments dedicated to the spirit of pioneer women in the United States. The monuments were commissioned by the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). They were installed in each of the 12 states along the National Old Trails Road, which extended from Cumberland, Maryland, to Upland, California. Created by sculptor August Leimbach and funded by contributions, the Madonna of the Trail monuments were intended to provide a symbol of the courage and faith of the women whose strength and love aided so greatly in conquering the wilderness and establishing permanent homes. Dedicated in 1928 and 1929, the twelve statues became sources of local pride. Through the continuing efforts of local and national groups, all are currently in good condition and on display.

It currently serves students from Upland and the northern portions of Ontario and Montclair that are above the San Bernardino Freeway.

The family home, in which the product, designated as Graber Olives, was developed, now is designated as historic and the original farm is designated as a historic site. The business was founded in 1894, two years after Clifford C. Graber and his brother, Charles, arrived from Clay City, Indiana.
