Velloor (also known as Mevelloor) is a village in the Vaikom Taluk of the Kottayam district in Kerala, India.

Thirumarayoor is a small village situated around 7 km from Piravom in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. A sub-post office of Arakunnam (PIN-682313) and a co-operative bank are the only public firms operating here. The main income of people in Thirumarayoor is from agriculture. Rubber, rice and coconut are the main agricultural products. The name "Thirumarayoor" originated from an event linked with the epic of "Ramayana". When Ravan kidnapped Seetha and went to Lanka in his Pushpaka vimaana , on his way Jattayu tried to stop Ravan. Enraged Ravan sliced off Jattayu's wings . Jattayu who lost his balance fell to the ground with his body continuously rotating in the air. The name "Thirumarayoor" is originated from two malayalam words " Thirinju Marinju" meaning "getting rotated in several ways" and "Ooru" meaning "place". Hence the name "Thirumarayoor" means "place where the rotation happened". Jattayu lost his balance and rotated in the air and moved through the sky above Thirumarayoor. The club Navachetana Kala Samidhi is situated here, and promotes the cultural as well as sports activities in Thirumarayoor and its surrounding areas. The Vadam Vali (Tug of War) is conducted (yearly) by Navachethana Kala Samidhi and is considered as the best entertainment programme in Edakkattuvayal Panchayat area . Another club here is "The Royals Mangidapilly".

Arayankavu is a village in Kerala, south India with Piravam Road as the nearest railway station. It belongs to the Amballoor Village Panchayath. The Arayankavu Temple is a famous temple of the Hindu mother goddess Bhadrakali. The temple is located near Ernakulam in the southern Indian state of Kerala and is one of the most popular temples in the state, for "Garudan Thookkam" performed on every "Pooram" of the Malayalam month "Meenam". Shiva, ayyappa, and naga are also worshiped at the temple. Pooram is the most famous celebration.

Pundareekapuram Temple is a small Hindu temple atop a little rise called Midayikunnam near Thalayolaparambu in Kottayam. A tiled and saddle roofed square "Chuttambalam" encloses a square sanctum sanctorum. Appended to the square enclosure is a small ‘balikkalpura’. The (main deity) idol is the image of Vishnu sitting astride his celestial vehicle Garuda together with Bhoodevi. There is a picture of Siva and Parvathi sitting beneath the Kalpavriksha; a picture of Durga vanquishing the buffalo-headed demon Mahisha, the pranks of Krishna the divine boy of Ambadi; a picture of a Yakshi the dangerous seductress of legends; Rama Pattabhishekham or the coronation of Sri Rama; Siva Thandava and a picture of Sastha astride a horse to point out a few of the striking paintings at Pundareekapuram.

Manakunnam is a village in Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala.

A P Varkey Mission Hospital, is a general hospital owned and operated by CPIM in Arakkunnam, Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. The hospital is named after the former district secretary of CPIM party, late A.P. Varkey. It was established in 2003 and was inaugurated by the Leader of opposition Kerala state assembly V.S. Achuthananthan. Hospital is located at Arakkunnam about 25 km (16 mi) from Kochi in a 25-acre (10 ha) sprawling campus. The hospital has four major blocks and the latest one was inaugurated by the Health Minister P Sankaran on 5 February 2004. The hospital has all the major departments in clinical and surgical areas.

Kanjiramattom in Ernakulam District, Kerala, India is a suburban area of the City of Kochi lying approximately 25 km southeast to the City of Kochi. The place is known for the Sheikh Fariddudin Mosque and its proximity to the famous Arayankavu Temple. The Mosque is famous for Kodikuthu which is celebrated on 13–14 January every year. It is one of the most important religious festivals of Kerala and is very colorful. Arayankavu Temple hosts the famous festival consisting of Garudan Thookkam. Pooram is the most famous celebration.
