Ishøj

Ishøj station is a railway station on the Køge radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It serves the urbanized coastal end of Ishøj municipality. The Greater Copenhagen Light Rail is expected to have its southern terminus at Ishøj station.

Ishøj Gymnasium was a secondary school located in Ishøj near Copenhagen, Denmark. The school was originally run by the County of Copenhagen, but was acquired by a private organization, CPH West, in 2007. When CPH West merged with Copenhagen Technical College to form NEXT Uddannelse København in 2016, the school was dissolved. Today, the campus is known as Sydkysten Gymnasium.

Vallensbæk Municipality is a municipality (Danish: kommune) in the Capital Region of Denmark on Zealand. It is part of the Greater Copenhagen area and consist primarily of the suburb of Vallensbæk. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Denmark in terms of area. Vallensbæk Municipality borders the municipalities of Ishøj, Høje-Taastrup, Albertslund and Brøndby. It borders Køge Bay, and the Køge Bay Beach Park (Danish: Køge Bugt Strandpark) along the coast. The suburb of Vallensbæk consists of two sections, not directly connected to each other: Vallensbæk Nordmark in the north and Vallensbæk Strand in the south. The two parts of the town are commonly referred to together as Vallensbæk. The only other settlement in the municipality is the village of Vallensbæk Landsby. The municipality's mayor has been Henrik Rasmussen, a member of the Conservative People's Party, since 2010. The Conservative People's Party has held the position as mayor since the municipality's creation in 1970. Vallensbæk Municipality was not merged with any other municipality in the municipal reform of 2007.

Hundige is a suburb 18 kilometres (11 mi) southwest of Copenhagen in Greve Municipality. The suburb was originally a small town, but redeveloped into a suburb in the 1960s. The suburb was connected to Copenhagen's S-train network in 1976.

Hundige station is a station on the Køge radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated close to the WAVES shopping center. Hundige station opened along with the extension of the Køge radial from Vallensbæk station to Hundige in 1976: Since then, it has been the terminus of the S-train service A, and a stop on all other lines on the Køge radial. Hundige station is however now only an occasional terminus for service A, since in the daytime on weekdays, every second train in the service continues to Solrød Strand station. Hundige station is a hub for public transportation in its area; right next to the platforms and tracks, is an array of designated bus stops for each of several bus lines serving the area, a pick-up and drop-off zone for taxis and private vehicles, and a parking lot.

Albertslund Municipality (Danish: Albertslund Kommune) is a municipality in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 23,04 km2, and has a population of 27,530 (1. January 2023). Its mayor is Steen Christiansen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. As of 2010 the social democrats have 9 of the 21 seats in the city council. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Albertslund. The original name of the municipality was Herstedernes Kommune. In 1973 the name was changed to Albertslund Kommune. The name Herstederne represents the two communities of Herstedvester and Herstedøster which were the original villages in the area together with Vridsløse and Risby. Neighboring municipalities are Glostrup to the east, Ballerup and Egedal municipality to the north, Høje-Taastrup to the west, and Vallensbæk and Brøndby to the south. Albertslund is home to Danmarks International Kollegium, which has won many awards for its design. Albertslund is also known for its effort in raising awareness about climate change. Albertslund Municipality was not merged with other municipalities by 1 January 2007 as the result of nationwide 2007 Municipal Reform. In 1973 Friluftsbadet Badesøen opened for the first time in Albertslund.

Ishøj Municipality (Danish: Ishøj Kommune) is a municipality (Danish: kommune) in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers 26 km², with a total population of 23,457 (1. January 2023). Its mayor is Merete Amdisen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. As of 2023, it has the highest share of people with a foreign-background in Denmark, with 44.2% having a foreign-background. 55.8% has a Danish-background, 16.3% Turkish, 5.6% Pakistani and 22.3% have another background (Polish, Nepali, Iraqi, Romanian, Indian, Moroccan and Bulgarian, among others).The main town, and the site of the municipal council, is the town of Ishøj, which has one of Scandinavia's biggest housing projects - Vejleåparken (formerly Ishøjplanen). Other places are the villages of Ishøj Landsby and Torslunde. Neighboring municipalities are Vallensbæk to the east, Høje-Taastrup to the north and west, and Greve to the south. Ishøj Municipality was not merged with other municipalities on 1 January 2007 as part of nationwide Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007).

ARKEN Museum of Modern Art (Danish: ARKEN Museum for Moderne Kunst) is a private non-for-profit charity, state authorised, contemporary art museum in Ishøj near Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The museum is amongst Denmark's major contemporary and modern art ventures, encompassing significant international cultural works and exhibitions. Arken is located in the suburb-city Ishøj, close to Køge (Køge bugt), twenty kilometres south of Copenhagen, Denmark. Arken museum was designed by 25-year old architect student Søren Robert Lund in a distinct architectural form and was authorised by Copenhagen County. It was inaugurated on 15 March 1996 and was conceived by Queen Margrethe; her majesty of Denmark.Arken Museum of Modern Art's collection offers major works of over 400 Danish, Scandinavian and International post-war art, including renowned creations by Damien Hirst, Olafur Eliasson, Anselm Reyle Shirin Neshat, Wolfgang Tillmans, Danish / Norwegian duo Ingar Dragset and Michael Elmgreen and many more. Arken, due to its synthesis of contemporary art, maritime architecture and landscape, is also acknowledged as a milestone in Danish Architecture. The museum showcases an overview of contemporary and modern art, presenting cultural and research-based exhibitions, architecture and design, sculptural artefacts, paintings, prints, site installations and mixed-media displays.

Albertslund station is an S-train station serving the Danish capital Copenhagen suburb of Albertslund, west of the city.It is located on the Taastrup radial of Copenhagen's S-train network. It serves the core of Albertslund, a residential suburb built virtually from scratch in the 1960s and 1970s. The extensive residential areas in the northern end of Albertslund municipality are served by local buses from Albertslund and Glostrup stations.
