Iglehart is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. Iglehart was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival is a Renaissance fair located in Crownsville, Maryland. Set in a fictional 16th-century English village named Revel Grove, the festival is spread over 27 acres (110,000 m2). It is open from the last weekend of August and runs for nine weekends.

Belvoir is a historic house at Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is a two-story, T-shaped building, constructed of brick, stone, and wood. The home is a product of building evolution spanning the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The earliest portion was probably built about 1736, but could date to the 17th century. It was the home of the grandmother of Francis Scott Key, who composed the Star Spangled Banner. Key visited in the summer in 1789.Archaeological research is being performed on the plantation site to document the lives of slaves during the 18th and 19th centuries. A foundation from the slave quarters made of stone from the last quarter of the 18th century was found, with many artifacts from the period when slaves lived in the building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

General's Highway Corridor Park is located at 1758 Crownsville Road, in the town of Crownsville, Maryland, United States. It is located near the site of the annual Maryland Renaissance Festival in the heart of Anne Arundel County. The park is maintained by the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks. Additional work – such as planting native plants and maintaining a nature trail – is provided by a group of volunteers called the General's Highway Environmental Project. The park is open to the public all year round, from sunrise to sunset.

Parole, a suburb of Annapolis, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The population was 15,922 at the 2010 census. It is where several major roads intersect at the western edge of the state capital, Annapolis, and contains the Annapolis Mall, and a number of other large shopping centers, and the Anne Arundel Medical Center. It is generally considered to be part of Annapolis rather than a separate town. The neighborhood was named because it was a parole camp, where Union and Confederate prisoners of war were brought for mutual exchange and eventual return to their respective homes.

The restaurant had a full liquor license, serving beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. The menu was created by Dean Maupin, currently the executive chef at the Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, VA. Dean was trained during a four-year apprenticeship at the esteemed Greenbrier Hotel.

On June 28, 2018, a mass shooting occurred at the offices of The Capital, a newspaper serving Annapolis, Maryland, United States. The gunman, Jarrod Ramos, killed five employees with a shotgun and injured two others who were trying to escape. Ramos was arrested shortly thereafter. He pleaded guilty but not criminally responsible to 23 charges; in July 2021, a jury found him criminally responsible.The Capital had published an article in 2011 about Ramos being put on probation for harassing an acquaintance from high school through social media and email. Ramos, angered by the article, brought a defamation lawsuit against the newspaper but a judge later dismissed the suit. Ramos is alleged to have sent enraged letters and messages to The Capital threatening to attack its newsroom and staff, but no legal action was taken after the threats were received.Capital Gazette Communications, owned by Tribune Publishing through its subsidiary the Baltimore Sun Media Group, publishes the daily newspapers The Capital and the Maryland Gazette and the weekly Crofton-West County Gazette. At the time of the shooting, its offices were located at 888 Bestgate Road in Parole, an unincorporated area of Anne Arundel County just outside Annapolis.
