WPDX (750 kHz) was a Classic Country formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Clarksburg, West Virginia, serving the Clarksburg/Fairmont/Buckhannon area. WPDX was last owned by West Virginia Radio Corporation and last operated under their AJG Corporation licensee. Because it shared the same frequency as "clear channel" station WSB in Atlanta, Georgia, WPDX operated only during daytime hours.

The Oak Mounds is a large prehistoric earthwork mound, and a smaller mound to the west. They are located outside Clarksburg, in Harrison County, West Virginia. These mounds have never been totally excavated but they were probably built between 1 and 1000 CE by the Hopewell culture mound builders, prehistoric indigenous peoples of eastern North America. The larger mound is about 12 feet high and 60 feet in diameter. A number of burials of important persons of the culture probably occurred in these mounds.

Victory High School (now known as United High School) was a public high school in Clarksburg, West Virginia that operated from 1917 through 1973. Victory High School Consolidated along with Bristol High School and Salem High School into the new Liberty High School in 1973. This name was chosen as it was built during World War I and completed after the war was over. The school operated until 2021 as Adamston Elementary School when it was closed after being consolidated with Wilsonburg Elementary into the newly renovated Victory Elementary located North of Clarksburg on Route 19, it was named in honor of the history of Victory High School, that building wa previously called Gore Middle School. This building will continue operations as United High School, a alternate high school for troubled youth.

Adamston, West Virginia is a former town in Harrison County, West Virginia, incorporated in 1903. It was the former site of a Baltimore & Ohio Railroad depot and a post office. It is now a neighborhood of Clarksburg, West Virginia. Adamston was named for Josias Adams, the original owner of the town site. It attained some national attention in 1912 when it elected a Socialist mayor and city government, some of whom were re-elected in 1915. Among the contributing factors in the victory, according to later analysis, were the strong involvement of the window glass factory workers, and the commitment of a large portion of the Belgian-American population of the town.In 1917, Adamston, along with Broad Oaks, North View (where Progressives had had success) and Stealer Heights, was annexed to Clarksburg. It was generally understood that part of the reason for annexation was to diminish the political power of glassworker enclaves in these small municipalities.

Elk Creek is a tributary of the West Fork River, 29 miles (47 km) long, in north-central West Virginia, USA. Via the West Fork, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River, draining an area of 121 square miles (310 km2) on the unglaciated portion of the Allegheny Plateau. The stream is believed to have been named by an 18th-century trapper and hunter named John Simpson, who encountered herds of elk along the stream.

Robert C. Byrd High School is a public school in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The school, which serves grades 9-12, is a part of Harrison County Schools. The school serves a vast majority of the city of Clarksburg, West Virginia, along with the towns of Nutter Fort, West Virginia and Stonewood, West Virginia. It is one of six public high schools in Harrison County. The school opened in 1996 as a consolidation of Washington Irving High School, which is now Washington Irving Middle School, and Roosevelt-Wilson High School. The student enrollment (as of 2008-09) is 880. The principal is Steve Gibson. The school's colors are Royal Blue and Kelly Green, and their mascot is the eagle. The school's namesake is U.S. Senator Robert Byrd, who served from 1959 to 2010. Edgewood Manor is located in Clarksburg, West Virginia on the east side of US Route 19 and State Route 20 North just one-fourth of a mile off of the West Pike Street Exit off Route 50. Another much older house of the same name, Edgewood (Bunker Hill, West Virginia), where a Confederate general died in 1863, is located far to the east in another West Virginia county.

WHTI is a radio station licensed to Salem, West Virginia, serving the Clarksburg/Fairmont area. WHTI is owned and operated by LHTC Media. The station (as WOBG-FM) previously broadcast an active rock format. On January 22, 2018, the station changed its call letters to WHTI, and began stunting with the sound of crickets. On January 25, 2018 WHTI launched a top 40 (CHR) format, branded as "Hot 105.7". Following its sale to LHTC Media in September 2023, the station began simulcasting WZST's format under the Jack FM brand, with the "Hot" format moving to WGYE.
