Huangpu District (Chinese pronunciation), makes up the eastern part of Shanghai's traditional urban core and is today the most central of Shanghai's 16 districts. Huangpu district is the seat of municipal government, includes key attractions such as The Bund and the Old City God Temple, as well as popular shopping districts such as Nanjing Road, Huaihai Road and Xintiandi. The Huangpu District is one of the most densely populated urban districts in the world.

Bund Center is a 198 m (650 ft), 50-storey tower in the Huangpu area of Shanghai, China. Designed by the architects of John Portman and Associates, the tower was completed in 2002. The building is mainly used for offices and major tenants of the building are Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Nokia, APP and Regus. The Bund Center’s prominent outer appearance is the crown located on top of the building. A total of 16 indicator lights are installed so that the crown illuminates a golden light at nighttime. The investors of the building are Shanghai Golden Bund Real Estate CO., LTD. Asia Food and Properties LTD. and Shanghai Huangpu Investment (Group) Development CO., LTD. The Westin Bund Center hotel is attached to the Bund Center, offering dining and entertainment experience to visitors.

Yuyuan Garden (simplified Chinese: 豫园; traditional Chinese: 豫園; pinyin: Yùyuán) is a station on Line 10 and Line 14 of the Shanghai Metro. It is located near the famous Yuyuan Garden in Huangpu District, Shanghai. The station entered operation in April 2010. This station became an interchange station between Line 10 and Line 14 on December 30, 2021

The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is a luxury hotel located along The Bund, in Shanghai's Huangpu District, in China. Part of the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts chain, the hotel is housed within the Shanghai Club Building.

The Nissin Building (Chinese: 日清大楼) is a six-storey building on the Bund, Shanghai, China. The building is located at Number 5, the Bund at the junction of the Bund and Guangdong Road). The site of the building is 1280 square metres, formerly used by a Japanese fire insurance company and had undergone numerous reselling between several British firms.The building was initially planned by the Japanese shipping company Nisshin Kisen Kaisha Shipping Co. There was a lack of funding but a Jewish merchant agreed to pay half the costs of construction, and funded the construction of three of its stories. Construction of the building started in 1921 and it was completed in 1925. The architectural firm was Lester, Johnson and Morriss. It has a floor space of 5484 square metres. One of the earliest applicants for a space in the new building was a Japanese entrepreneur who wished to open a Turkish bath and restaurant in part of the basement. After the Second World War the China Merchants Steam Navigation Company took over the building. The building became owned by Shanghai Maritime Bureau shortly after the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949. The bureau continued to use the building until the 1990s when it moved to an office tower Pudong and this building was leased to different firms, most notably the Bund branch of Huaxia Bank and a gate was added to the south. The building's façade consists both Japanese and Western elements and is completely covered in granite. The décor is much simpler in the lower three stories than above, which features reliefs and granite columns.

Holy Trinity Church, Shanghai (simplified Chinese: 上海圣三一堂; traditional Chinese: 上海聖三一堂; pinyin: Shànghǎi shèng sānyī táng), is a Protestant (and formerly Anglican) church in Huangpu District of Shanghai. The church, consecrated in 1869 was designed in a gothic revival style by British architect Sir George Gilbert Scott. After 1875, upon the appointment of Bishop William Russell as the first Church of England Bishop in the Diocese of North China, the church was commonly referred to as a cathedral, and the senior priest was known as the Dean. This cathedral designation was however mainly by way of common convention than fact as the titular bishop of the Anglican Communion located in Shanghai at the time was Channing Moore Williams of the Episcopal Church. The church has recently been restored and since 2006 has served as the main church and headquarters of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement in Shanghai. However, as at June 2018 the church was still not open for worship. The bookshop in the former school was open.

The four-story China Merchants Bank Building (simplified Chinese: 中国通商银行大楼; traditional Chinese: 中國通商銀行大樓; pinyin: Zhōngguó Tōngshāng Yínháng Dàlóu) is a historical building on the Bund, Shanghai, China. It was built in 1907, and later became the Hospital for the Shanghai Changjiang Navigation Company.

The Gutzlaff Signal Tower, also known as the Bund Weather Tower or the Bund Signal Tower (外滩信号台), is a major landmark in Shanghai's Bund. It is a 36.8m tall (50m focal height) signal station built in Art Deco style, originally intended to provide weather information to ships on the Huangpu River, in particular typhoon warnings.

The Great Northern Telegraph Building (Chinese: 大北电报公司大楼), also known as the Telegraph Building (电报大楼), is a historical building on the Bund, Shanghai, China.

The HSBC Building (also known as the Municipal Government Building) is a six-floor neo-classical building in the Bund area of Shanghai, China. It served as the headquarters of the Shanghai branch of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation from 1923 to 1955, and currently houses the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. The building is situated at number 12, the Bund. Designed by the British architecture firm Palmer & Turner Architects and Surveyors, construction of the building lasted from 5 May 1921 to 23 June 1923.

East Nanjing Road (simplified Chinese: 南京东路; traditional Chinese: 南京東路; pinyin: Nánjīng Dōng Lù) is an interchange station between Lines 2 and 10 on the Shanghai Metro. It is located in Huangpu District, under the intersection of Nanjing Road (E.) and Henan Road (M.) in the city center of Shanghai. During the National Day and other major festivals, Nanjing East Road will close the station during certain periods, and trains will not stop at this station during the closed period. Before October 2006, it was known as Middle Henan Road station. The name was changed according to the new convention to name metro stations after famous streets or sights nearby rather than the vertical street neighbouring the station, making it easier for visitors to find these places. This station is part of the initial section of Line 2 that opened from Zhongshan Park to Longyang Road that opened on 20 September 1999. The interchange with the main branch of Line 10 section of the station opened on 10 April 2010.

Yu Garden or Yuyuan Garden (simplified Chinese: 豫园; traditional Chinese: 豫園; pinyin: Yù Yuán, Shanghainese Yuyoe pronounced [y²².ɦɥø⁵⁵], lit. Garden of Happiness) is an extensive Chinese garden located beside the City God Temple in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai at Huangpu District, Shanghai. It abuts the Yuyuan Tourist Mart, the Huxinting Teahouse and the Yu Garden Bazaar.This garden is accessible from the Shanghai Metro's Line 10 and Line 14 Yuyuan Garden station.A centerpiece is the Exquisite Jade Rock (玉玲珑) a porous 3.3-m, 5-ton boulder. Rumours about its origin include the story that it was meant for the Huizong Emperor (Northern Song Dynasty from 1100 to 1126 AD) at the imperial palace in Beijing, but was salvaged from the Huangpu River after the boat carrying it had sunk.
