Shrule

Shrule Castle (Irish: Caislen Sruthair, meaning 'Castle of the River') is a ruined tower house near Shrule in County Mayo, Ireland. The castle was built c.1238, near the Black River at the County Mayo and County Galway border by the de Burgh family. It was given to John de Burgh in 1308 by his father Richard Óg de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster.

Ballyhenry (Baile an Hanraígh in Irish) is a townland in the Barony of Ikerrin, County Tipperary, Ireland. It is located in the civil parish of Bourney south of Roscrea.

Headford (Irish: Áth Cinn) is a small town in County Galway, located 26 km north of Galway city in the west of Ireland. It is an angling centre for the eastern shore of Lough Corrib, and Greenfields, approximately 6.5 km west of the town, is its boating harbour. The town is situated next to the Black River (known also for its trout angling) which is the county boundary with Mayo. Located on the N84 national secondary road from Galway to Castlebar and the R333, and R334 regional roads, the town is a commuter town to Galway City. The town is the centre of an area which contains a number of prehistoric burial cairns, Iron Age stone enclosures, early Norman and later castles, and several monastic sites. These include Ross Errilly Friary, located northwest of Headford, which is one of the best preserved monastic ruins of its period in Ireland.According to 2022 census, there were 1,235 people living in Headford.

Presentation College Headford is a secondary school for boys and girls in Headford, County Galway in Ireland. The school serves the town of Headford and its hinterland. It is partnered with Dundonald High School, Belfast, in Northern Ireland.

The Ross Errilly Friary (Irish: Mainistir an Rois, often anglicised in 18th and 19th century sources as Rosserelly) is a medieval Franciscan friary located about a mile to the northwest of Headford, County Galway, Ireland. It is a National Monument of Ireland and among the best-preserved medieval monastic sites in the country. Though usually referred to by locals as "Ross Abbey," this is not technically correct as the community never had an abbot.The church and bell tower are to the south of a small but well preserved central cloister and domestic buildings are to the north. Amongst these are a kitchen (equipped with an oven and a water tank for live fish), a bake house, and a refectory or dining area. The dormitories are on the upper levels. One unusual feature is a second courtyard or cloister, built to accommodate the friary's growing population. Like many other abandoned Christian sites in Ireland, Ross Errilly has continued to be used as a burial ground by area residents. In addition to tombs that date from the friary's active period, many graves dating from the 18th through 20th centuries can be found inside the church walls. In some cases, tombstones comprise the floors of walkways and crawlspaces.

Kilmaine or Kilmain (Irish: Cill Mheáin) is a barony and village in County Mayo, Ireland.

Caherlistrane is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Underage teams up to U-16's play in the Galway league and championships while further age groups compete in their respective competitions. They are one of the oldest established Gaelic Football clubs in Galway. Their only success in the Galway Senior Football Championship came in 1890, and reached their last final in 1892. In recent times, they have looked to bridge that long gap, reaching the semi-finals in 2008. In 2006, they reached the 2006 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship Final but lost to Inniskeen Grattan's of Monaghan.

Killursa is a medieval church and national monument in County Galway, Ireland. The church is located on the outskirts of Westport, about east-northeast of the town of Galway. It has a rectangular mass in the Early Christian or Romanesque style, with an octagonal tower at its northeast corner. The tower was apparently added in the 15th century. The church is datable from the 12th century, and may have been founded by St. Columba. The current structure is from the 16th century. The church is notable for the pre-Reformation frescoes, which are some of the best in Ireland. These include a depiction of the Crucifixion, and other scenes from the Life of Christ. The paintings are attributed to the Master of Ballina, who is traditionally thought to have been active in the mid-14th century. The frescoes were damaged by dampness in the 18th century, and were restored in the 1990s.

Roundfort (Irish: Lois na Maol) is a parish in County Mayo, Ireland with a church (Church of the Immaculate Conception), school (Roundfort National School), a playschool and a local pub (Delia Murphy's). Farming is the main provider within the parish for those who do not work in neighbouring towns and cities such as Ballinrobe, Claremorris, Castlebar and Galway and further afield.

Knockferry (Irish: Caladh an Chnoic) is a townland in County Galway, on the shores (at the narrowest part) of Lough Corrib. The number of occupied dwellings is 20 (including Burnthouse) and for census purposes it is incorporated within the 'census town' of Rosscahill, Wormhole with a total population of 295 in 2011.

Kilconly is a small rural village near Tuam which is north of Galway City in County Galway, Ireland. It is situated about 12km north west of Tuam town on the Ballinrobe road (R332).
