Kapiʻolani Park

The Annual Ukulele Festival was held each July in Hawaii from 1971 to 2022. It was founded in 1971 by Roy Sakuma with the support of the Waikiki Department of Parks. The event drew large crowds to listen to free concerts by both amateur and top ukulele musicians.

The Waikīkī Aquarium is an aquarium in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. It was founded in 1904 and has been an institution of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa since 1919. The aquarium is the second-oldest still-operating public aquarium in the United States, after the New York Aquarium. Built next to a living coral reef on the Waikīkī shoreline, the Waikīkī Aquarium is home to more than 3,500 organisms of 490 species of marine plants and animals. Each year, over 330,000 people visit, and over 30,000 schoolchildren participate in the aquarium's education activities and programs. The Waikiki Aquarium was designated a Coastal Ecosystem Learning Center of the Coastal America Partnership federal program.

The Waikiki Natatorium War Memorial is a war memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, built in the form of an ocean water public swimming pool. The natatorium was built as living memorial dedicated to "the men and women who served during the great war" (now known as World War I).

The Honolulu Zoo is a 42-acre (17 ha) zoo in Queen Kapiʻolani Park in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. It is the only zoo in the United States to be established by grants made by a sovereign monarch and is built on part of the 300-acre (121 ha) royal Queen Kapiʻolani Park. The Honolulu Zoo features over 1,230 animals in specially designed habitats. Over 601,510 people visit the zoo annually. The zoo is administered by the City & County of Honolulu through the Department of Enterprise Services. Its support agency, the Honolulu Zoo Society (HZS), provides program services for the zoo.The zoo's accredited membership of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) was dropped in 2016 but reinstated in 2020.

The C. W. Dickey House at 3030 Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, was one of the earliest residences designed by Charles William Dickey in his "Hawaiian style" after he resettled in the islands in 1925. He built it for himself and lived in it from 1926 until 1933, when he built himself a rather less humble dwelling at Makalei Place on the front slope of Diamond Head. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The house is significant as an early prototype of Dickey's "Hawaiian style" architecture and for its association with one of Hawaiʻi's most famous architects. The double-pitched hip roof with overhanging eaves became such a Dickey trademark that it is often called a "Dickey roof." Other features of the style include many windows and an enclosed lānai. He employed a similar style for the cottages he designed for the Halekulani Hotel during the same era. This single-story house has board-and-batten siding and acid-stained decorative concrete flooring. The front entrance leads into a living room as wide as the face of the house, which opens into a dining room (with connecting kitchen) one step below the living room, and then a rear lanai behind sliding doors. One rear wing contains two bedrooms separated by a bath, and the other a pantry, a maid's quarters, and a garage (now enclosed to form another bedroom).

La Pietra: Hawaii School for Girls, also referred to as La Pietra or Hawaii School for Girls, is a private school for girls in grades 6–12 located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1964 by Lorraine Cooke, it moved to the current La Pietra campus in 1969. Barbara Cox Anthony chaired the school's board of trustees until her death in 2007. The school is at the foot of Diamond Head. The main building was designed by Chicago architect, David Adler and was modeled after an Italian villa in Florence, Italy of the same name.

Hawaiʻi School for the Deaf and the Blind (HSDB) is a public school for deaf and blind children in Honolulu, Hawaii. Operated by the Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE), it has grades K–12.All of the teachers are certified in American sign language.

The ʻAlohilani Resort Waikiki Beach is a resort hotel located in Honolulu, Hawai'i on Waikīkī Beach. The 'Alohilani opened in 2018, having 839 guest rooms and suites, an infinity pool, a 280,000 gallon, 3-story high oceanarium and two restaurants by "Iron Chef" Masaharu Morimoto.

Kuhio Beach Park is a public ocean-side park on the island of Oahu, U.S. state of Hawaii, located within Waikiki Beach. It's a common gathering place for the Honolulu population and tourists due to its location and semi-protected waters. The park was named for Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana'ole, the youngest son of Kekaulike Kinoiki II and High Chief David Kahalepouli Piʻikoi. The current park was the site of Pualeilani, the home of Prince Kūhiō and his wife, Princess Elizabeth Kahanu. In July 1918, the prince removed a high board fence, opening a section of the beach to the public. The property was given to the city after his death in 1922, and Kuhio Beach Park was officially dedicated in 1940.Kuhio Beach Park is the site of three well-known statues and public artworks: the statue of Duke Kahanamoku by Jan Gordon Fisher (1990), the statue of Prince Jonah Kuhio by Sean Browne (2001), and the monument the Stones of Life (1997), (in Hawaiian: Nā Pōhaku Ola O Kapaemahu A Me Kapuni), a sculpture incorporating ancient basaltic stones representing four legendary healers, Kapaemahu, Kahaloa, Kapuni and Kinohi, who came to Hawai'i from distant lands. The park hosts two famous surf breaks, Queen's and Canoes, where several surf competitions are held annually.

Fort Ruger is a fort on the island of Oʻahu that served as the first military reservation in the Territory of Hawaii. Named after Civil War General Thomas H. Ruger and built in and around Diamond Head Crater, the fort was established by the United States for the purpose of defending the harbor of its newly annexed territory. The fort was established in 1906 as Diamond Head Reservation and renamed Fort Ruger in 1909.

The Waikiki Biltmore Hotel was a resort hotel in Waikīkī, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, that operated from 1955 to 1974. The Biltmore was the first high-rise hotel on Waikīkī but operated for only 19 years, after which it was demolished and replaced with the Hyatt Regency.

The Real World: Hawaii is the eighth season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is the fourth season of The Real World to be filmed in the Pacific States region of the United States, and the first season set in the United States to be filmed outside of the contiguous United States. The season featured seven people who lived in a modern beach house in Honolulu, Hawaii, which production started from January to May 15, 1999. The season premiered on June 15, of that year and consisted of 23 episodes. The cast was heavily concerned with castmate Ruthie Alcaide's excessive drinking, which resulted in her leaving the house to enter an alcohol treatment program. This was cited as one of the series' memorable moments by Time magazine.
