Wiley-Ringland House

Fort Bayard was an earthwork fort constructed in 1861 northwest of Tenleytown in the District of Columbia as part of the defenses of Washington, D.C., during the American Civil War. It never faced major opposition during the conflict and was decommissioned following the surrender of Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. Named after Brigadier General George Dashiell Bayard, who was killed at the Battle of Fredericksburg, the site of the fort is in Boundary Park, located at the intersection of River Road and Western Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., and is maintained by the U.S. National Park Service. No trace of the fort remains, though a marker commemorating its existence has been erected by the Park Service.

The Hilleary T. Burrows House is an historic Queen Anne style home, located at 4520 River Road, Northwest, Washington, D.C., west of Tenley Circle, in the Tenleytown neighborhood. It was built in 1897, from H. Galloway Ten Eyck pattern book, by B. N. Burgoyne. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Friendship Heights Village is an urbanized, unincorporated area in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. Friendship Heights Village is distinct from the Washington, D.C., neighborhood of Friendship Heights). The population was 5,360 at the 2020 census.

The Willoughby of Chevy Chase is a large high-rise condominium building in Montgomery County, Maryland, on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. It was originally designed by award-winning, modernist architect Vlastimil Koubek and opened in 1969 as the Willoughby Apartments. The Willoughby Apartments was built for luxury rentals, and when it opened, it was the largest residential building in the DC area.The Willoughby project was built in 1965 by Washington developer Milton A. Barlow, however the firm ran out of funds and the completion of the building was taken over by the loan financier, Riggs National Bank. The Willoughby Apartments changed ownership several times and, ultimately, was sold to First Condominium Development Company of Chicago, specialists in condominium conversions. Apartment sales and control of the condominium turned over to unit owners in 1982.There are 815 units including efficiencies, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, commercial office space, a convenience store, 701 parking garage spaces, and a restaurant. The building was built with many luxury amenities: an exercise room, 24-hour staffed desk, laundry rooms, library, party room, rooftop lounge, and pool. Bylaws prohibit pets and were recently amended to restrict smoking.

Willoughby Park is a city park in Friendship Heights, an incorporated area on the edge of Washington, D.C. Named after the adjacent Willoughby Condominium Building, it is at the intersection of Willard Ave and Friendship Boulevard. It is served by the Friendship Heights metro and bus station of the Washington Metro, which is located two blocks from the park. Designed by Robert (Bob) Good, of Stephenson & Good Landscape Architecture, The park is characterized by its location in the midst of high-rise luxury condominium buildings. While there is some traffic noise, the park is generally quiet with few users. Sharing the intersection is a Chipotle Restaurant, the edge of the Geico Corporate campus, and another park directly across the street.

Milton is a historic home located at Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. Also known as the Loughborough House, the building was constructed in two stages and is built of uncoursed granite. The older section, constructed prior to 1820, is one and one-half stories and a two-story three bay structure was subsequently built in 1847. Outbuildings on the property include a square, stone smokehouse with a square, hipped roof, and a 19th-century stone ice house. It was the home of Nathan Loughborough, Comptroller of the Treasury during the John Adams administration. From 1934 until the 1970s, the house was owned by the agricultural economist, Mordecai J. Ezekiel.Milton was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Walde–Carter House is a historic Victorian home, located at 4628 48th Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C., in the American University Park neighborhood. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Somerset is an incorporated town in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located near its border with Washington, D.C. The population was 1,216 at the 2010 census. Somerset has no relationship to Somerset County, some 150 miles distant.

Macedonia Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church at 5119 River Road in Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. Founded in 1920, it is the last surviving institution of River Road (also known as Graysville), the freedom colony established by freedpeople in the Westbard area of Bethesda after the American Civil War, and it is documented as an anchor institution of that historic settlement in a 2022 National Park Service historic resources study. Since the mid-2010s the church has been the institutional center of the movement to protect and memorialize the River Road Moses Cemetery (Moses African Cemetery), the community's burial ground now lying beneath the parking lot of the Westwood Tower apartment complex. The Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition (BACC) grew out of the church's Social Justice Ministry, led by its First Lady, Marsha Coleman-Adebayo; and the church's pastor, the Rev. Dr. Olusegun Adebayo, was a petitioner in Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition v. Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County, decided by the Supreme Court of Maryland in 2024.

The Salmon-Stohlman House, also known as Clover Crest, is a historic home located at Somerset, Montgomery County, Maryland. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, frame structure built about 1893, and designed in a transitional manner with late Victorian detailing. It was one of the first houses built in the present day Town of Somerset by Dr. Daniel Salmon, a leading veterinarian at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and one of the original developers of the suburban property.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.Victoria Clarke is a former resident of the Salmon-Stohlman House.

Friendship Heights is a Washington Metro station straddling the border of Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The station was opened on August 25, 1984, and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
