Chiswell's Inheritance, also known as Chiswell's Manor, Chiswell's Delight and Grayhaven Manor, is a historic home located at Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story, five-bay brick plantation house with an attached kitchen wing on the south end. Inlaid in glazed brick near the peak of the gable is the inscription "C S" with the date "1796" below.Chiswell's Inheritance was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Dowden's Luck is a historic house located at Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The main house is a 2+1⁄2-story, late Federal-style frame house. Major additions were made in 1855 and 1910. Also on the property are a one-story gable-roofed stone slave quarters, a one-story gable-roofed brick smokehouse, a stone spring house, and the foundations of two barns, all built during the 1824-1850 plantation period. An overgrown terraced garden in its original configuration as constructed around 1855 stands to the west of the house. Dowden's Luck was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Nathan Dickerson Poole House is a historic home located at Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, frame dwelling, constructed in 1871 and its design combines elements of the Victorian Gothic and Italianate styles. Also on the property are a frame barn and corn shed of early-20th-century date.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Poolesville is a U.S. town in the western portion of Montgomery County, Maryland. The population was 5,742 at the 2020 United States Census. It is surrounded by (but is technically not part of) the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, and is considered a distant bedroom community for commuters to Washington, D.C. The name of the town comes from the brothers John Poole, Sr. and Joseph Poole, Sr. who owned land and slaves in what is now Poolesville. Due to an historical anomaly, until 2010 the legal name of the town was "The Commissioners of Poolesville". Residents overwhelmingly voted to formally change the name to "The Town of Poolesville" in the November 2010 general election.

White's Ford was an important ford over the Potomac River during the American Civil War. It was used in many major actions, including the crossing into Maryland of the Confederate army prior to the Maryland Campaign and Confederate Major General J.E.B. Stuart's ride around Union Major General George B. McClellan on October 10, 1862, when he used the ford to cross into Loudoun County, Virginia. It is located a few miles above present-day White's Ferry. The ford was named after Captain Elijah V. White, a Confederate cavalry officer and leader of the cavalry battalion known as the Comanches. His farm was on the Virginia side of the ford.

The Darby Store, also known as the Darby Store Cultural Park is a historic site located on Medley's Hill at 19801 Darnestown Road in Beallsville, Maryland that is part of the Beallsville Historic District. What is now the intersection of Beallsville Road and Darnestown Road/(Route 28) was formerly the Brewer Farm. In 1908, H.C. Darby bought the land. In 1910, H.C. Darby built a two-story general store. In the 19th and 20th century it was very common to have the family residence next to the family business, and the Darby House was built in 1921.In 2004, the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission purchased the property and restoration by BELL Architects was ongoing through 2015. The general store is culturally and historically significant as one of the few remaining examples of rural vernacular architecture of the early 20th century in Montgomery County. During the summer of 2009, the site was under excavation. A team of archaeologists spent three weeks at the site and their findings included: oyster shells, glass shards, coal, nails, ceramic pipe stems, a 1918 liberty dime, and a Yoo-hoo bottle, all of which provide clues to the history of the area, and the buildings occupying it since the 19th century.

Broad Run is a tributary stream of the Potomac River in Montgomery County, Maryland. The headwaters of the stream originate west of the town of Poolesville, and the creek flows southward for 8.9 miles (14.3 km) to the Potomac River. The Broad Run and its watershed are almost entirely within the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve.

The Hanover Farm House is a historic home located at Beallsville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. This brick house consists of a main block and kitchen wing dating to 1801–1804, and a 1+1⁄2-story modern kitchen wing added in 1954.The Hanover Farm House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
