Culpeper County is a county located along the borderlands of the northern and central region of the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 52,552. Its county seat and only incorporated community is Culpeper.Culpeper County is included in the Washington–Baltimore–Arlington, DC–MD–VA–WV–PA Combined Statistical Area.

Croftburn Farm is a historic farm complex located near Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia. The complex includes the contributing Sprinkel-Bushong House (c. 1890–1900); the Cottage (c. 1938); the horse barn (c. 1880); the shop and attached privy (c. 1900); the small barn (c. 1870); the feed room (c. 1870–1880); the large barn (c. 1890); the garage (1920-1930); and the milk shed (c. 1900–1915).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Auburn, also known as Auburn Farm, is a historic home and farm located near Brandy Station, Culpeper County, Virginia. It was built about 1855–1856, and is a three-story, three bay by three bay frame dwelling, built in the Greek Revival style. It features a two-story portico with a heavy entablature including triglyph and metope frieze. Also on the property are the contributing kitchen (c. 1855–1856); 20th-century garage, chicken house, meat house, and machine shed; two barns; a large corncrib; and two tenant houses.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

The National Audiovisual Conservation Center, also known as the Packard Campus for Audio-Visual Conservation, is the Library of Congress's audiovisual archive located inside Mount Pony in Culpeper, Virginia.

The Battle of Culpeper Court House was an American Civil War skirmish fought September 13, 1863, near Culpeper, Virginia, between the cavalry of the Union Army of the Potomac and that of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia. The Union victory opened up the Culpeper region to Federal control, a prelude to the subsequent Bristoe Campaign.

Culpeper station is a train station in Culpeper, Virginia. It was originally built by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad in 1904, replacing an 1874 station house which itself replaced two stations originally built by the Orange and Alexandria Railroad. It is currently served by Amtrak's long-distance Cardinal and Crescent routes, along with two daily Northeast Regional trains with final stops in New York or Boston to the north and Roanoke to the south.When then-owner Norfolk Southern Railway tried to demolish a portion of the depot in 1985, a citizens' committee formed to save the building. In 1995, the town successfully prepared a $700,000 renovation grant under the Virginia Department of Transportation Enhancement Program. Three years later, Norfolk Southern sold the depot to the town, and in 2000 the renovated building opened to the public. Additional work to the freight section was completed in 2003.

Culpeper County Public Schools is a school district in Culpeper County, Virginia, USA. The district is designated to carry out the functions designated by Article VIII of the Constitution of Virginia and consists of 10 schools (six elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools) serving over 8,000 students.

Hill Mansion is a historic home located at Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia. It was built in 1857–1858, and is a two-story, four-bay, brick dwelling in the Italianate style. It measures 39 feet by 38 feet, 7 inches, and rests on a high brick foundation. The front facade features a one-story porch consisting of an arcade, supported on Tuscan order piers, with a bracketed cornice. It was the home of Edward Baptist Hill, whose brother, General A. P. Hill, was a frequent visitor during the American Civil War. It also served as a Confederate hospital and later as headquarters for Union officers.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is included in the South East Street Historic District.

Culpeper Historic District is a national historic district located at Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia, United States.

Pitts Theatre, also known as the State Theatre after 1970, is a historic movie theater located at Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia. It was built in 1937–1938, and is a concrete block structure faced in brick in the Art Deco style. The building consists of a symmetrical three-bay façade, with a central theater entrance flanked by storefront retail spaces. The façade features a stepped massing that recedes from the entrance and storefronts. The interior has a sophisticated circulation system, which enabled balcony patrons, which were initially African-American, and white patrons to enter the theater separately to separate spaces; the main balcony and auditorium, respectively. The theater closed in 1992.The theater was reopened in May 2013 with a performance by Lyle Lovett, after renovation supported by federal and state historic tax credits. The newly renovated performing arts venue's rebirth would be short lived, however. In an open letter to the Culpeper community on September 14, 2016, the State Theatre Foundation's board of directors announced that it would be ceasing operations immediately and refunding any ticket holders for upcoming performances. The letter did not give any specifics as to what would eventually become of the downtown icon, only stating "...to diligently work to decide the best course of action for the facility..." The building again sits closed to the public, as it once had for nearly twenty years, on Culpeper's Main Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
