Formerum

Koffiemolen (English: Coffee Mill) or Formerumermolen (English: Mill of Formerum) is a smock mill in Formerum, on the island of Terschelling, Friesland, Netherlands which was built in 1876 and has been restored to working order. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 35076.

Terschelling (Dutch pronunciation: [tɛrˈsxɛlɪŋ] ; West Frisian: Skylge; Terschelling dialect: Schylge) is a municipality and an island in the northern Netherlands, one of the West Frisian Islands. There is some agriculture, but a large part of the island has become a nature reserve. Terschelling is well known for the yearly Oerol Festival during which theatre performances are played throughout the island, making use of its landscape and nature. Terschelling can be reached by ferry from the mainland Frisian town Harlingen and in summer from Vlieland by high-speed catamaran.

The small islands Simonszand, Rottumerplaat, Rottumeroog, and Zuiderduintjes belong to the province of Groningen. The Frisian Islands are nowadays mostly famous as a holiday destination. Island hopping is possible by regular ferries from the mainland and by specialised tour operators. Cycling is the most favourable means of transport on most of the islands. On Vlieland and Schiermonnikoog cars are allowed only for regular inhabitants.

Kinnum (West Frisian: Kinum) is a small village on Terschelling in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 33 in January 2017.

De Grië is a restaurant located in Oosterend, Terschelling, in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1993 and retained that rating until 2005. For 2007, it was again awarded a Michelin star.Head chef of De Grië is Joos van Strien. In the time of the Michelin star, Ton van Scheppingen was the head chef.The restaurant was originally located at "Hoofdstraat 43" in Oosterend. In 2006 the restaurant moved to the new hotel Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee. Due to the move, the restaurant lost its Michelin star but won it back a year later. After a disagreement with the interim-management, Van Scheppingen left the restaurant in July 2007. Consequently, the restaurant lost its star.

Oerol (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈurɔl]) is a cultural festival on the island of Terschelling in the Netherlands that is held annually in June. The ten-day festival is focused on live, public theatre as well as music and visual arts. This festival was founded in 1981 by Joop Mulder, then owner of café De Stoep in Midsland. The first edition took place on June 18, 1982.

Oosterend (West Frisian: Aasterein) is the easternmost village on Terschelling in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 136 in January 2017.

Maritime Institute Willem Barentsz (MIWB, Dutch: Maritiem Instituut Willem Barentsz) is an educational institution located on Terschelling, one of the West Frisian Islands in the northern part of the Netherlands. The maritime academy was founded in 1875 and today it is part of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. MIWB is named after navigator and explorer Willem Barentsz, who was born on the island. MIWB is a member of IASST.
