Biscuit Run State Park is a planned state park located in Albemarle County, Virginia. The park property was originally planned for a large residential development. In January 2010, as real estate values reeled from the burst housing bubble and ensuing recession, the state negotiated the purchase of the property from developer Forest Lodge, LLC for $21.48 million in cash and tax credits.A master plan for the development of the park was approved in 2013. It consisted of three phases: Phase 1: Provides for the construction of trails, playgrounds and park buildings. Cost: $15.5 million. Phase 2: Additions include campgrounds and trailheads for bicycle and hiking trails. Cost $13.4 million Phase 3: Includes rental cabins, road connections across the parks and equestrian trails and parking facilities. Cost: $13.6 millionIn January 2018, Terry McAuliffe announced a 99-year lease of the property to Albemarle County.The construction of Phase 1A Entrance, Parking and Trailhead by the County of Albemarle is scheduled to begin in October 2023. Substantial completion of Phase 1A - and the official park opening and beginning of authorized public access - is scheduled for Spring 2024.

White Cross–Huntley Hall is a historic home located at Charlottesville, Virginia. It was built in 1891, and is a two-story Shingle Style dwelling. It features stone walls, broad expanses of hipped and gable rooflines, circular tower, and small-paned windows. The Charlottesville School for Boys occupied the house for over a decade in the 1930s-1940s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Fry's Spring Historic District encompasses a residential neighborhood of Charlottesville, Virginia, which was developed between 1890 and 1963. Prior to its development, it was a largely wooded area owned for much of the 19th century by the Fry family. The 150-acre (61 ha) district is centered on the private Fry's Spring Beach Club, whose property includes the eponymous spring, and includes 300 mainly residential buildings with historic character. The architectural styles that predominate in the district are Craftsman and Colonial Revival, although other revival styles such as the Spanish and Tudor Revival are represented by smaller numbers of buildings. There are also four churches in the district. The district extends southward along Jefferson Park Avenue, south of the railroad tracks, and radiates out along Stribling, Todd, Robert, and Raymond Avenues as far as Highland Avenue. Another cluster of streets at the southern end of the district includes Jefferson Park Circle, and portions of Eton Road and Monte Vista Avenue.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. It includes the previously-listed White Cross–Huntley Hall.

Hereford College is a self-governed residential college at the University of Virginia. Originally consisting of five dorms within one complex, the residential college has since been reduced to two dorms: Norris House and Whyburn House. Thus, only about 200 students reside in Hereford Residential College. Named after physicist Frank Hereford, who was president of the university between 1974 and 1985, the college opened in 1992 as New College, UVA's second residential college. It consists of five strikingly thin dorm buildings, Vaughan House, and its own dining hall. Hereford was designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, which also designed the American Folk Art Museum in New York, the Neurosciences Institute in San Diego, and the Student Art Building of Johns Hopkins University.

Scott Stadium, in full The Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium, is a stadium located in Charlottesville, Virginia. It is the home of the Virginia Cavaliers football team. It sits on the University of Virginia's Grounds, east of Hereford College and first-year dorms on Alderman Road but west of Brown College and the Lawn. Constructed in 1931, it is the oldest active FBS football stadium in Virginia. It also hosts other events, such as concerts for bands that can fill an entire stadium, such as the Dave Matthews Band in 2001, the Rolling Stones in 2005, and U2 in 2009. The Virginia High School League held its Group AAA Division 5 and 6 football state championship games at the stadium until 2015. The facility has also hosted the Division I NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship in 1977 and 1982 and the ACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament in 2008.

Mount Jefferson is a mountain located just outside Charlottesville, Virginia, United States, in Albemarle County. It lies south of Lewis Mountain, and is positioned at the northeastern edge of the Ragged Mountains. It was named Mount Jefferson in honor of Thomas Jefferson after the establishment of the Leander McCormick Observatory on the summit in 1885. Jefferson had urged the purchase of the mountain for the University of Virginia, in part because of its suitability as a site for an observatory. In addition, he valued it for the water resources and the abundance of timber for construction of the university. Prior to the renaming it had been known as Old Reservoir Mountain and Observatory Mountain (for an observatory which Jefferson directed to be built on the summit), and is now informally known as Observatory Hill. The mountain is traversed by McCormick Road and Edgemont Road (which also runs along a neighboring ridge — Edgemont or Midmont), and is the site of several other University of Virginia buildings including a deactivated nuclear reactor, a linear accelerator and dormitories. It has been preserved in a largely wooded state for the protection of McCormick Observatory from light pollution. It is used by birdwatchers, mountain bikers, hikers, and students and faculty at The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, U.S. Army, for military physical fitness training. The headquarters for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory are also located on Mount Jefferson.

The Leander McCormick Observatory is one of the astronomical observatories operated by the Department of Astronomy of the University of Virginia, and is situated just outside Charlottesville, Virginia (US) in Albemarle County on the summit of Mount Jefferson (also known as Observatory Hill). It is named for Leander J. McCormick (1819–1900), who provided the funds for the telescope and observatory.

Montebello is a historic home located at Charlottesville, Virginia. The central section was built in 1819–1820, and consists of three-part facade, with a three bay, two-story central block with single-story flanking wings. The original section has a single pile, brick I-house plan with a central hall flanked by a room on each side. Also on the property is a contributing 1+1⁄2-story, brick, two-car garage (c. 1920). The house was built by John M. Perry, one of the workmen who worked with Thomas Jefferson at Monticello and on his many building projects at the University of Virginia. The University of Virginia purchased the house and property in 1963 and it currently serves as a residence for faculty.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Alderman Road Dormitories (generally referred to as New Dorms) are one of two main areas of first-year living dormitories at the University of Virginia, the other being the McCormick Road Dormitories. There were originally eleven houses in the residence area located on Alderman Road, which were constructed in the early 1960s to accommodate a large growth in admitted students. In 2006, the University initiated a replacement project after determining that renovating the dormitories would be less cost effective and would not provide more beds for projected enrolment growth. Additionally, the University wants to provide modern amenities for its first year students. The project, which is split into four phases, were finished by 2015.

Oakhurst–Gildersleeve Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Charlottesville, Virginia. The district encompasses 78 contributing buildings in a primarily residential section of the city of Charlottesville. It was developed between 1910 and the 1960s and includes examples of the Bungalow, Colonial Revival, and Tudor Revival styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
