The Darden School of Business is the graduate business school of the University of Virginia, a public research university in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ranked amongst the top business schools in the world, the school offers MBA, PhD, and Executive Education programs. The school was founded in 1955 and named after Colgate Whitehead Darden Jr., a former Democratic congressman, governor of Virginia, and president of the University of Virginia. It is located on the grounds of the University of Virginia. Its faculty use the case method as their method of teaching courses. The school has been ranked in the top ten globally by The Economist and Financial Times.

The Batten Institute for entrepreneurship and innovation is one of the Centers of Excellence at the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. It was founded in 1999 with a $60 million gift to the Darden School from alumnus Frank Batten, chairman of Landmark Communications, founder of The Weather Channel.

The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, also known as The JAG School or TJAGLCS, is a graduate-level division federal service academy located on the grounds of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. The center is accredited by the American Bar Association to award the Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Military Law. The center educates military, civilian, and international personnel in legal and leadership skills. The LL.M. curriculum includes courses in Administrative and Civil Law, Contract and Fiscal Law, Criminal Law, and National Security Law. The school serves primarily as the U.S. Army's law school for the Officer Basic Course (OBC) for initial-entry Judge Advocates, and as the graduate program for Judge Advocates of all services branches. It is the only ABA-accredited law school that only awards an LL.M. and not a Juris Doctor degree.

Sunnyside, also known as the Duke House, is a historic home located at Charlottesville, Virginia. The original section was built about 1800, as a 1+1⁄2-story, two room log dwelling. It was expanded and remodeled in 1858, as a Gothic Revival style dwelling after Washington Irving's Gothic Revival home, also called Sunnyside. The house features scroll-sawn bargeboards, arched windows and doors, and a fieldstone chimney with stepped weatherings and capped corbelled stacks topped with two octagonal chimney pots.The house was built by John Altphin around 1800 in the rural outskirts of Charlottesville, which was only incorporated as a town of less than 300 people in 1801. The house passed through multiple owners before its major transformation in the 1850s. The longest-tenured owners of the property were the Duke family, after Confederate officer Richard Thomas Walker Duke purchased the property in 1863. Duke's descendants continued to live at Sunnyside until the University of Virginia acquired the property in 1963.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Charlottesville-Albemarle Tribune was a weekly newspaper in Charlottesville, Virginia published by and for African-American residents of the city. While the title suggests that the paper covered Charlottesville and Albemarle County, the paper covered news from surrounding counties of Greene, Culpeper, Orange, and Nelson counties as well.Founded in 1954 by Randolph Lewis White, it bore the name Charlottesville-Albemarle Tribune through 1992, a year after White's death. At that time, the name changed to The Tribune, and this paper ran until 2011.Sherman White co-published the newspaper with Randolph White for many years. Randolph L. White was the editor, Mrs. Donna Reaves was the society editor, and Sherman R. White was the advertising representative as well as the author of a column called, "Spotlight on Sports". Both men were heavily involved in desegregation efforts in Charlottesville, and the paper contributed important reporting and editorials to the debates in Charlottesville over School integration and Massive resistance.The newspaper included national columnists such as Vernon E. Jordan, Jr., Wiley Harris, and Bayard Rustin, as well as a column from Virginia House Delegate Thomas J. Michie, Jr. For many years, the newspaper included local society columns covering various regions in the area, including Proffit, Howardsville, Nelson County, Orange County, Radiant, Cumberland, Keene, Cismont, Shenandoah Valley, Yancey Mills, Louisa County, and Charlottesville.In Charlottesville society news, the newspaper would cover such information as meetings of The Phyllis Wheatley Club, The B Square Club, the Bethune Art and Literary Club, The Lucky Twenty Club, the Taylor Art Club, and the Mt. Zion Social Club. In editions after holidays, the paper would also cover when households traveled to visit far-flung relatives, or when out-of town visitors came to visit a church or parishioner homes.In 1974, the paper also included a society editor, Mrs. Donna Reaves, and advertising representative Sherman R. White. In December of this year, the subscription rate was $5.00 per year or $3.00 per six months.

The University of Virginia Center for Politics (CfP) is a nonpartisan institute at the University of Virginia. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, the institute promotes the value of politics and the importance of civic engagement. It operates on the principle that 'government works better when politics works better, and politics works better when citizens are informed and involved participants'. Founded in 1998 by professor and political analyst Larry Sabato, the institute is housed in Montesano, on property once owned by United States Senator Thomas S. Martin, and functions with the funding support from a variety of public and private sources. Alongside its focus on civic education and engagement, the CfP also publishes Sabato's Crystal Ball, a source of comprehensive election analysis which is recognized as providing the most accurate electoral predictions.

Faulkner House, also known as Seymour, Montesano, Garallen, and Old Ivy Inn, is a historic home located near Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Virginia. It was built in 1855–1856, and enlarged and remodeled in 1907 in the Colonial Revival style under the direction of architect Waddy B. Wood. The original section is the central two-story, brick structure topped by a hipped roof. In 1907, the house was enlarged with the addition of recessed, two-story, single-pile side wings and monumental front portico. Toward the end of the American Civil War, the house served as temporary headquarters of Union General Thomas Devin and was the home of Senator Thomas S. Martin from 1906 to 1919.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Klöckner Stadium is a multi-purpose sports stadium located on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. The stadium is home to the Virginia Cavaliers's men's and women's soccer team in the fall, and the men's and women's lacrosse teams in the spring. The stadium was designed by VMDO Architects and built in 1992 at a cost of $3.4 million, and its naming rights were awarded to the Klöckner Group of Germany for $1.2 million.

Davenport Field at Disharoon Park is a baseball stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia. It is the home field of the University of Virginia Cavaliers college baseball team. The stadium has a capacity of 5,919 and opened in 2002. The field is named after former Virginia Student Aid Foundation executive director Ted Davenport, and the stadium is named after Leslie and Ann Disharoon.

John Paul Jones Arena, or JPJ, is a multi-purpose arena owned by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Since November 2006, it serves as the home to the Virginia Cavaliers men's and women's basketball teams, as well as for concerts and other events. With seating for 14,623 fans (nearly twice the capacity of its predecessor, University Hall) John Paul Jones Arena is the largest indoor arena in Virginia and the biggest Atlantic Coast Conference basketball arena located outside of large metropolitan areas. Sports Illustrated named John Paul Jones Arena the best new college basketball arena of the 2000s.Virginia men's basketball is 206–46 (.817) at John Paul Jones Arena as of March 2021. The Cavaliers have fared even better, 167–30 (.848), at JPJ during the Tony Bennett era. Virginia fans in the arena are known for cheering loudly for defensive stands and for providing what Rick Pitino, who went winless in three attempts at JPJ, called "one of the best home court advantages [he's] ever seen" where Wahoo fans seem like they are "on top of you." JPJ opened for basketball on November 12, 2006, as Virginia defeated No. 10 ranked Arizona, 93–90, and handed Lute Olson a season-opening loss in his final season.
