AES Barbers Point Plant was a medium-size coal-fired electrical power station located in the south-west corner of the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Owned and operated by AES, the plant was the only coal-fired power plant in the state of Hawaii and was the state's leading single source of toxic pollutants. AES Barbers Point Power Plant consisted of a single unit on the grounds of Campbell Industrial Park, had a year-around capacity of 180 MWe, and in 2006 represented about 11% of Oahu's commercial electricity supply.The plant closed on September 1, 2022, as part of a state goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. AES indicated that the facility could be repurposed to burn biofuels instead of coal, though such a conversion could take years to complete.

Ko Olina Beach Park is a public park on the west side of the island of Oahu, Hawaii within the Ko Olina Resort Community, part of the City and County of Honolulu. Located at the end of several high-end vacation resorts, the park is situated between the man made lagoon and the Ko Olina Marina. The park's white-sand lagoon is one of four in the 640-acre Ko Olina Resort. The water is well protected by the reef, relatively shallow and the beach bordered by a broad, grassy lawn.

Naval Air Museum Barbers Point was a military museum in Kapolei, Hawaii.The museum preserves the history of the co-located Naval Air Station Barbers Point. Its exhibits include former U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. Marine Corps aircraft including the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, Lockheed P-3C Orion, and Sikorsky UH-3H Sea King, among others.Established in 1999, the museum was forced to close in June 2020 after longstanding difficulties with the State of Hawaii.

Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point is an air station of the United States Coast Guard located approximately 13½ miles west of Honolulu, at the Kalaeloa Airport, on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Initially the Coast Guard established a base on the Hawaiian Archipelago in 1945, with a pair of PBY-5 Catalinas and one Grumman G-21 Goose. The air unit maintained supervision for the windward side of Oahu. In 1949 the Command moved to Naval Air Station Barbers Point, and in 1965 the unit received its current designation of Coast Guard Air Station Barbers point. For 24 years the Sikorsky HH-52 Seaguard was the primary search-and-rescue helicopter, unit 1987 when it was retired and replaced with the Aérospatiale HH-65 Dolphin. The fixed wing component has consisted of various models of the C-130 Hercules which have been assigned to the unit since 1959. Currently, AIRSTA Barbers Point has four HC-130J Super Hercules in use, configured primarily as a long-range search and rescue, maritime law endorcement, and logistical support aircraft. It has the ability to airdrop rescue equipment to survivors at sea or on land. It can take off and land on short, unprepared airfields.Today 250 officers and enlisted personnel maintain a continuous service for the Fourteenth Coast Guard District. Duties include aviation mission support for Search and Rescue, Marine Environmental Protection, Maritime Law Enforcement and Aids to Navigation. Since 1979, the unit has been awarded two Coast Guard Unit Commendations and four Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendations for exemplary service.

Kalaeloa (Hawaiian pronunciation: [kəlɐe̯ˈlowə]) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Honolulu County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 2,364 at the 2020 census. The community occupies the location of the former Naval Air Station Barbers Point, which was closed in 1999 and subsequently transferred to the State of Hawaiʻi. The geographical name, Ka lae loa, means "long point" in Hawaiian and is the native name for what has been called Barbers Point on Oʻahu. The area was known as Barbers Point because Captain Henry Barber wrecked his ship on a coral shoal at this location on October 31, 1796. In 1993, after the federal government listed Barbers Point for closure, the state legislature established the Barbers Point Naval Air Station Redevelopment Commission (BPNAS-RC) to guide the redevelopment of the former military facilities comprising John Rodgers airfield and 3,700 acres (15 km2) of land along the south shore of Oʻahu between the towns of ʻEwa, Kapolei, and Campbell Industrial Park. On July 1, 2002, the Hawaii Community Development Authority became the redevelopment authority for Kalaeloa. The former Naval Air Station runways and associated facilities are now Kalaeloa Airport. Barbers Point Housing is that part of Kalaeloa retained temporarily by the U.S. Navy for housing.

The Hawaiian Super Prix was a proposed CART FedEx Championship Series exhibition race scheduled for Saturday November 13, 1999. It was to be the final race of the 1999 FedEx Championship Series season, as well as the season ending event for 2000 and beyond. It was to be held on a temporary circuit at the Kalaeloa Airport on the island of Oahu, near Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. The invitation-only event was to utilize an all-star format featuring the top drivers on the circuit. The organizers advertised a $10 million purse – including $5 million to the winner, the largest single-day payout in the history of motorsports to date. 25 days prior to its scheduled running, the race was cancelled by the promoters. Lack of revenue, poor decisions and missteps by management and series officials, and labor dispute involving local stevedores were cited as causes. The failure of the Hawaiian Super Prix was a PR "black eye" for the CART series.

Kalaeloa Airport (IATA: JRF, ICAO: PHJR, FAA LID: JRF), also called John Rodgers Field (the original name of Honolulu International Airport) and formerly Naval Air Station Barbers Point, is a joint civil-military regional airport of the State of Hawaiʻi established on July 1, 1999, to replace the Ford Island NALF facilities which closed on June 30 of the same year. Located on the site of the developing unincorporated town of Kalaeloa and nestled between the Honolulu communities of ʻEwa Beach, Kapolei and Campbell Industrial Park in West Oʻahu, most flights to Kalaeloa Airport originate from commuter airports on the other Hawaiian islands. While Kalaeloa Airport is primarily a commuter facility used by unscheduled air taxis, general aviation and transient and locally based military aircraft, the airport saw first-ever scheduled airline service begin on July 1, 2014, with Mokulele Airlines operating flights to Kahului Airport on Maui. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a regional reliever facility.

Naval Air Station Barbers Point (ICAO: PHJR, FAA LID: JRF), on O'ahu, home to John Rodgers Field (the original name of Honolulu International Airport), is a former United States Navy airfield closed in 1999, and renamed Kalaeloa Airport. Parts of the former air station serve as a film and television studio for the Hawaii State Film Office.

Wet'n'Wild Hawaii (formerly Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park) is a Hawaiian water park, located in Kapolei in the City and County of Honolulu on Oahu. The park occupies 29 acres (120,000 m2) of land and has more than 25 rides and attractions. It is currently the only water park in the state of Hawaii. It is one of six water parks operating under the Wet'n'Wild brand globally. Wet'n'Wild Hawaii was defined in the Makakilo City CDP in the 2000 U.S. Census but for the 2010 U.S. Census was redefined as being in Kapolei CDP.

Ko Olina Resort is a 642-acre (2.60 km2) master-planned vacation and residential community on the leeward coast of Oahu, 17 miles (27 km) west of Honolulu. Ko Olina has 2 miles (3.2 km) of coastal frontage and includes three natural and four man-made lagoons with white-sand beaches. The master-planned resort community, owned by Honolulu-based The Resort Group, is home to four hotel and vacation-club resorts: Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club, the Beach Villas at Ko Olina and The Four Seasons Resort O'ahu at Ko Olina, and villa homes at Ko Olina Kai, Kai Lani, Coconut Plantation, and Hillside. Previously, the JW Marriott at Ko Olina occupied the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts property. An Atlantis Resort, similar to Atlantis Dubai, was being designed as an international destination for millennial travelers, before plans were scrapped due to financial issues. The property is planned to be adjacent to the condominiums located on the Honu lagoon. Major events hosted at Ko Olina Resort include the LPGA Lotte Championship, the Ko Olina Children's Film & Music Festival and the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival. Ko Olina is a spot frequented by celebrities.Under The Resort Group's ownership, Ko Olina has created a $10B master-planned waterfront community, created over 5,000 jobs and generates approximately $2.5B in economic impacts for the State of Hawaii annually.

The Lotte Championship is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour. It debuted in April 2012 at the Ko Olina Golf Club in Kapolei, Hawaii. The title sponsor of the tournament is Lotte, an industrial conglomerate based in South Korea and Japan. The presenting sponsor from 2012 to 2014 was J Golf, a Korean broadcaster. In 2012, the LPGA Lotte Championship was one of two LPGA tournaments in the United States presented by J Golf. From 2015 to 2018, the presenting sponsor was Hershey. Ai Miyazato won the inaugural event in 2012 by four strokes for her eighth win on the LPGA Tour.In 2022, the tournament moved to the Hoakalei Country Club in ʻEwa Beach, Hawaii.To accommodate Korean television, the tournament begins on Wednesday and concludes on Saturday.

Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club is a hotel in Ko Olina, Hawaii, a resort community in Kapolei. It is located 30 minutes away from Honolulu on the western side of Oahu. Opened in 2003, the hotel consists of three resort towers, each housing roughly 200 units. The resort is expected to construct a fourth and final tower in the near future which would add an additional 202 units to the property. Primarily a time share resort, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club's guest rooms offer the amenities found in homes, such as kitchens and washing machines. The resort also contains three pools and three restaurants. Owned and managed by Marriott Vacation Club, the resort also serves as a timeshare property. The property underwent a renovation in 2014, which remodeled the rooms and updated the exteriors and cosmetic appearance of the hotel.
