Zhongli railway station

The Zhongli Incident was a democracy movement in the Taiwanese town of Zhongli (now Zhongli District, Taoyuan City) in 1977, after a voter reported witnessing the Kuomintang rigging the election.

Zhongli District (Chinese: 中壢區; pinyin: Zhōnglì Qū) is a district in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Zhongli is spelled variously as Jungli, Jongli, Jhongli or Chungli on railway stations, bus stops and road signs. Historically, the city is the site of the Zhongli Incident of 1977, the most significant event of the democratization movement prior to the 1980s. Ethnically, it is considered a capital city for Hakka Taiwanese, who live in great numbers here and in surrounding areas; many elderly persons can speak Hakka in addition to Mandarin and Taiwanese Hokkien. In recent years many foreign workers (mainly from the Philippines and Thailand) have also settled in and around the city due to the heavy industry in the suburbs of the city, making it a center for foreign laborers. The district of Zhongli has three large parks and over 70 green reserves. Zhongli District is the busiest district in Southern Taoyuan (南桃園), as well as the location of the Taoyuan HSR station.

The Zhongli Arts Hall (traditional Chinese: 中壢藝術館; simplified Chinese: 中坜艺术馆; pinyin: Zhōnglì Yìshùguǎn) is an arts center in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

The Financial Star Building (Chinese: 世貿財星廣場; pinyin: Shìmào cái xīng guǎngchǎng) is a 30-story, 123.7 m (406 ft) skyscraper office building completed in 1993 and located in Zhongli District, Taoyuan, Taiwan. When the building was completed in 1993, it was the tallest building in Taoyuan city and it held the title for 19 years until it was overtaken by ChungYuet Royal Landmark in 2012. Financial Star Building was also the first building to exceed 120 m (390 ft) in Taoyuan and was one of the earliest skyscrapers in the city. As of December 2020, the building is the 3rd tallest in Taoyuan City (after ChungYuet Royal Landmark and ChungYuet World Center). The location of the building is near Zhongli railway station.

Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology (UCH; Chinese: 健行科技大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kiān-hêng Kho-ki Tāi-ha̍k) is a university in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. UCH is also known as Chien Hsin Tech (Chinese: 健行科大; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kiān-hêng Kho-tāi).

Laojie River (Chinese: 老街溪) is a station on the Taoyuan Airport MRT located in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The station opened for commercial service in July 2023.

Pingzhen District (Chinese: 平鎮區; pinyin: Píngzhèn Qū) is a district in the central part of Taoyuan City, Taiwan, home to 227,047 people.

Huanbei (Chinese: 環北) is a station on the Taoyuan Airport MRT located in Zhongli, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It opened for commercial service on 2 March 2017.

Chung Yuan Christian University Chang Ching Yu Memorial Library (Chinese: 中原大學張靜愚紀念圖書館; pinyin: Zhōng Yuán Dà Xué Zhāng Jìng Yú Jì Niàn Tú Shū Guǎn) is the library at Chung Yuan Christian University in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU; Chinese: 中原大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tióng-gôan-tāi-ha̍k) is a private university in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The university was established as Chung Yuan Christian College of Science and Engineering in 1955 by a group of Taiwanese and American Christian educators to train science and engineering talent in the Christian spirit. The school was upgraded to a full university and renamed Chung Yuan Christian University in 1980. CYCU is a Member of United Board.

The Affiliated Zhongli Senior High School of National Central University (Chinese: 國立中央大學附屬中壢高級中學) is a public high school, which is located in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. National Zhongli Senior High School was previously a Japanese Temple built in October 1939. After KMT migrated to Taiwan, the temple was abolished and became a local senior high school.

The Matsu New Village (Chinese: 馬祖新村; pinyin: Mǎzǔ Xīncūn), also called New Matsu Village, Mazu New Village, is a restored military dependents' settlement in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan.The Matsu New Village has been lauded as the "Taoyuan General Village" (Chinese: 桃園將軍村). The first phase of the military dependents' hostel was completed in 1957, and they are allocated to 84 army major-general level officers and lower ranking officers, as well as their dependents; it was also the first military dependents' village in Longgang. The name of the village was not derived because the local residents came from Matsu but it was during a trip when Chiang Kai-shek’s wife, Soong Mei-Ling led the Armed Forces Entertainment Regiment to visit Matsu and enhance troop morale. Matsu New Village was the only village in Taoyuan to have been selected by the Ministry of National Defense in 2012 as one of the 13 national “Cultural Preservation Areas for Military Dependents’ Villages.”
