Foundling Hospital

Coram's Fields is a large urban open space in the London borough of Camden in central London. It occupies seven acres in Bloomsbury and includes a children's playground, sand pits, a pets corner, café and nursery. Adults are only permitted to enter if accompanied by children.It is situated on the former site of the Foundling Hospital, established by Thomas Coram in what was then named Lamb's Conduit Field in 1739. In the 1920s The Foundling Hospital was relocated outside London to Ashlyns School in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and the site was earmarked for redevelopment. However, a campaign organised by Janet Trevelyan and fundraising by local residents and a donation from Harold Harmsworth, 1st Viscount Rothermere led to the creation of the current park that opened in 1936. Coram's Fields is owned and run by an independent registered charity, officially named Coram's Fields and the Harmsworth Memorial Playground.Coram's Fields also offers three eight-a-side football pitches, two tennis courts, a stickball field and a basketball court. The Thomas Coram Foundation for Children (the successor charity to the Foundling Hospital) and the Foundling Museum housing the art collections of the former Hospital, are based in buildings nearby. To the west is Brunswick Square, and to the east is Mecklenburgh Square (bordered by Goodenough College to the south), two historical London squares. To the north is the Thomas Coram Foundation and St George's Gardens. To the south are Guilford Street and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Coram's Fields, and Brunswick and Mecklenburgh Squares are jointly listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.Coram's Fields provides services for children and young people in the local community, including an after school and holiday programme, a sports programme, a youth centre and an early years programme which includes a nursery and drop-in.

Lamb's Conduit Field, also known as Lamb's Conduit Fields was an open area in what is now the London Borough of Camden. The fields lay north of the Lamb's Conduit water feature that gave it its name, and lay mostly in the parish of St Pancras. It was a noted cricket venue in the first half of the 18th century.

The Guilford Place drinking fountain is a Grade II listed drinking fountain at Guilford Place, London WC1, built in about 1870, and designed by the architect Henry Darbishire, for the Misses Whiting to commemorate their mother.

The Guilford Place public conveniences are Grade II listed former public toilets at Guilford Place, central London, built in the late 19th century.The toilets have "yellow tiles, mahogany doors, decorative grills and their original fittings."These underground toilets, then the busiest in the borough, were closed by Camden Council in the 1988, and as of February 2016, are due to be converted into a Tonkotsu Ramen noodle restaurant.

Guilford Place is a street in the London Borough of Camden. It lies opposite and to the south of Coram's Fields. It runs north to south from Guilford Street to where it becomes Lamb's Conduit Street.3-6 Guilford Place, the public conveniences and the drinking fountain are all Grade II listed by Historic England.

The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (ICH) is an academic department of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences of University College London (UCL) and is located in London, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1946 and together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), forms the largest concentration of children's health research in Europe. In 1996 the Institute merged with University College London. Current research focusses on broad biomedical topics within child health, ranging from developmental biology, to genetics, to immunology and epidemiology.

Goodenough College is a postgraduate residence and educational trust in Mecklenburgh Square in Bloomsbury, central London, England. Other names under which the college has been known are London House, William Goodenough House, and the London Goodenough Trust.

International Hall is a Hall of Residence owned by the University of London and situated on Brunswick Square and Lansdowne Terrace in the Bloomsbury district of London. It is an intercollegiate hall, and as such provides accommodation for full-time students at institutions such as University College, King's College, Queen Mary, School of Oriental and African Studies, the London School of Economics, and other such constituent colleges of the University of London. It is the largest single hall of the University of London.

Lansdowne Terrace is a street in Bloomsbury, London WC1. It runs south to north from Guilford Street to Brunswick Square, with houses on the west side and Coram's Fields on the east side. Nos 1 to 4 are Grade II listed houses, built in 1794, and designed by James Burton.The main entrance to International Hall, a hall of residence owned by the University of London is at the northern end. Horizon: A Review of Literature and Art, edited by Cyril Connolly, was based there throughout its existence in the 1940s.

The Lamb is a Grade II listed pub at 94 Lamb's Conduit Street, in the London Borough of Camden, London.The Lamb was built in the 1720s and the pub and the street were named after William Lamb, who repaired the Holborn Conduit, later renamed Lamb's Conduit in his honour, a few metres to the south, in 1577. The Lamb was refurbished in the Victorian era and is one of the few remaining pubs with 'snob screens' which allowed the well-to-do drinker not to see the bar staff, and vice versa.Charles Dickens lived locally and is reputed to have frequented The Lamb. Other writers associated with the pub include Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath. Hughes, who was a regular at the pub, arranged to meet Plath there in the early days of their relationship.

St George's Gardens is a public park in Bloomsbury, London Borough of Camden.
