North Philadelphia station is an intercity rail and regional rail station on the Northeast Corridor, located on North Broad Street in the North Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's (SEPTA) Regional Rail Trenton Line and Chestnut Hill West Line account for most of the station's service. Four Amtrak trains – three southbound and one northbound – stop on weekdays only. The station opened in the 1870s and was known as New York Junction and Germantown Junction. A new station, which ushered in the Beaux-Arts style for large train stations, was built from 1896 to 1901. After a 1912–1915 enlargement, it was renamed as North Philadelphia. Despite several other renovations, its use declined in the mid and late 20th century; in 1991, Amtrak constructed a smaller replacement station across the tracks. The building was renovated once more in 1999 and is now used as commercial space. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places the same year.

North Philadelphia station is a rapid transit station on SEPTA's Broad Street Line. It serves both local trains and Broad-Ridge Spur trains. It is located in Philadelphia under North Broad Street with headhouses at Glenwood Avenue and Lehigh Avenue; the station takes its name from this portion of the city in spite of being one of several stations serving the area. It is adjacent to North Broad station (served by SEPTA Regional Rail) and North Philadelphia station (served by Regional Rail and Amtrak).

National League Park, commonly referred to as the Baker Bowl after 1923, was a baseball stadium and home to the Philadelphia Phillies from 1887 until 1938, and first home field of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1933 to 1935. It opened in 1887 with a capacity of 12,500, burned down in 1894, and was rebuilt in 1895 as the first ballpark constructed primarily of steel and brick, and first with a cantilevered upper deck. The ballpark's first base line ran parallel to Huntingdon Street; right field to center field parallel to North Broad Street; center field to left field parallel to Lehigh Avenue; and the third base line parallel to 15th Street. The stadium was demolished in 1950.

Black Saturday was a 1903 disaster which left 12 spectators dead and injured 232 when a section of balcony collapsed during a baseball game between the Boston Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. It was the worst disaster in the history of American sports spectating.

North Broad station, known as North Broad Street until 1992, is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located at 2601 North Broad Street (PA 611) in the Cecil B. Moore section of Lower North Philadelphia, and serves the Lansdale/Doylestown Line and the Manayunk/Norristown Line. The station has low-level platforms on the outside tracks, with "mini-high" platforms for wheelchair and ADA accessibility. North Broad station is within a few blocks of the North Philadelphia SEPTA-Amtrak station (formerly belonging to the Pennsylvania Railroad), which serves Amtrak's Keystone Service and Northeast Regional and SEPTA's Trenton Line and Chestnut Hill West Line, and the North Philadelphia subway station on SEPTA's Broad Street Line. The station is in the Center City fare zone, although the station itself is located in North Philadelphia.

St. Joseph's House for Homeless Industrious Boys is a historic charity building at 1511 and 1515-1527 West Allegheny Avenue in the Nicetown-Tioga neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by the Philadelphia architectural firm of Hoffman-Henon and built in 1929. It was added to the National Register in 1996.

Oakdale Park is a former baseball park located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The field was home to the Philadelphia Athletics professional baseball team in the first season of the American Association, 1882. The site of the park had been used for amateur baseball since the Civil War. It was used from 1877 to 1881 by the Olympic Ball Club of Philadelphia.The 1882 Athletics played at the park, bounded by Huntingdon Street (north), 11th Street (east), Cumberland Street (south), and 12th Street (west) in the West Kensington neighborhood. The Athletics played 39 regular-season games at the park, compiling a 21–18 record. The franchise relocated to Jefferson Street Grounds in 1883. Oakdale Park was sold shortly thereafter and torn down. Philadelphia Ball Park would be built a couple of blocks west of this site, five years later.

The station is located at 3200 North Broad Street under the intersection of Allegheny Avenue in North Philadelphia, and is strictly for local trains. The station is located next to the Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, formerly known as the Temple University School of Dentistry.

Dropsie College for Hebrew and Cognate Learning or Dropsie University, at 2321–2335 N Broad St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was America's first degree-granting institution for post-doctoral Jewish studies. Funded by the will of Moses Aaron Dropsie (1821–1905), it was chartered in 1907, and its first building was completed in 1912. It ceased to grant degrees in 1986. The Dropsie University Complex's buildings were placed on Philadelphia's roster of historic buildings as of November 30, 1971. The Dropsie University Complex was named a national historic landmark (NRHP) on January 17, 1975.After a brief period as the Annenberg Research Institute (1986–1993) Dropsie ceased to be an independent organization, and became part of the University of Pennsylvania. Its name changed several times and it was relocated, becoming the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies.
