Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry (commonly referred to as Kornberg School of Dentistry) is the dental school of Temple University, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Simon Muhr Work Training School is a historic school building located in the Nicetown–Tioga neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1899, and is a three-story, three bay, stone building on a raised basement in the Gothic-style. It features a central projecting bay with stepped gable and battlement-like motif. It was named for Simon Muhr, who bequeathed money for public education in Philadelphia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.Longtime Philadelphia City Councilman at Large David Cohen (politician) was an alumnus of the school.

It is the chief clinical training site for the Temple University School of Medicine. The hospital currently has a 722-bed capacity that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to the surrounding community, and highly specialized tertiary services in the Delaware Valley. In 2015, Temple University Hospital had more than 84,000 emergency department and 200,000 outpatient visits. In August 2011, Becker's Hospital Review listed Temple University Hospital as number 10 on the 100 Top Grossing Hospitals in America with $5.9 billion in gross revenue.

North Philadelphia station is an intercity rail and regional rail station on the Northeast Corridor, located on North Broad Street in the North Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's (SEPTA) Regional Rail Trenton Line and Chestnut Hill West Line account for most of the station's service. Four Amtrak trains – three southbound and one northbound – stop on weekdays only. The station opened in the 1870s and was known as New York Junction and Germantown Junction. A new station, which ushered in the Beaux-Arts style for large train stations, was built from 1896 to 1901. After a 1912–1915 enlargement, it was renamed as North Philadelphia. Despite several other renovations, its use declined in the mid and late 20th century; in 1991, Amtrak constructed a smaller replacement station across the tracks. The building was renovated once more in 1999 and is now used as commercial space. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places the same year.

Glenwood is a neighborhood in North Philadelphia. It is located in the vicinity of North Philadelphia Station to West York Street.In 1988, two residents of the 3100 block of Percy Street, Reverend Clarence Hester, a Baptist minister and activist, and Carrie Hartsfield, an insurance worker who retired, cofounded the Glenwood Community Development Corporation in an effort to improve the area. Glenwood is often defined as the area bounded by York Street to the south (bordering Stanton and Templetown), Germantown Avenue to the east (bordering Fairhill), and Glenwood Avenue to the north and west (bordering Nicetown–Tioga, Allegheny West, and Strawberry Mansion). Glenwood is a low-income, predominantly African-American neighborhood. The area has one of the highest crime rates in the city.

Max's Steaks is a cheesesteak and hoagie restaurant that was founded in 1994 on Germantown Ave in Nicetown, North Philadelphia. The restaurant is known for its whole cheesesteaks sometimes referred to as the "Giant" which is two feet long. The restaurant is attached to a bar called Eagle Bar.

North Philadelphia station is a rapid transit station on SEPTA's Broad Street Line. It serves both local trains and Broad-Ridge Spur trains. It is located in Philadelphia under North Broad Street with headhouses at Glenwood Avenue and Lehigh Avenue; the station takes its name from this portion of the city in spite of being one of several stations serving the area. It is adjacent to North Broad station (served by SEPTA Regional Rail) and North Philadelphia station (served by Regional Rail and Amtrak).

Erie station is a subway station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, served by the SEPTA Broad Street Line. It is located in North Philadelphia under the intersection of 3700 North Broad Street and Erie Avenue. Since Erie is an express station, it has four tracks and two central platforms, with express and Ridge Spur trains operating on the inner tracks and local trains operating on the outer tracks. This station has two mezzanine levels located above the track level. One is an entrance/exit mezzanine which holds turnstiles and the payment booth, while the other is exit-only. The station is located near the former Luzerne Depot, a former trolley barn which became an all bus garage, and is now a cardboard recycling plant.As of 2007, Erie station had approximately 6,842 boardings a day, making it the fourth busiest station on the line.There is a flying junction north of Erie Station; originally built for the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway, it served as the northbound terminus for the Broad-Ridge Spur until service was extended to Fern Rock.
