The historic district is located along Euclid Ave., Belle Isle Dr., Isla Vista Dr., and Thorn St. "Islenair is a small, working class, early auto-oriented suburb that reflects the small house movement which took hold following World War I and became a national standard of development in the wake of the Great Depression and the Post-World War II housing shortage."

The station is licensed for 10,000 watts of power from a directional antenna system, but has been operating since 2016 with 2,500 watts non-directional from a different site. It is owned by Hi-Favor Broadcasting, and airs a Spanish Christian format branded "Radio Inspiración".

KLSD (1360 AM) is a broadcast radio station in the United States. Licensed to San Diego, California, it is owned by iHeartMedia and broadcasts a sports format branded "XTRA 1360". Having signed on in 1922 as KFBC, KLSD is San Diego's oldest licensed radio station. From 1928 to 1982, the station had call signs KGB, with various music formats during the KGB era ranging from middle of the road for much of the mid-1930s to early 1960s, Top 40 from 1964 to 1972 and again from 1974 to 1982, and album-oriented rock from 1972 to 1974. Reflecting a shift of music from AM to FM radio, KGB changed to an all-news format simulcasting CNN in 1982 with call sign KCNN. Then in 1983, the station returned to music with an adult standards format, first as KPQP in 1983 then KPOP from 1986 to 2004. The station has been owned by iHeartMedia and its predecessor companies since 1996. The station adopted its present KLSD call sign in 2004 with a progressive talk radio format primarily with the Air America Radio network. Then in 2007, KLSD changed to its current sports format. KLSD broadcasts local sports talk and play-by-play in addition to national network programming from ESPN Radio and Fox Sports Radio. It also broadcasts San Diego State University sports and Los Angeles Lakers basketball. Previously, KLSD broadcast the San Diego Fleet of the short-lived Alliance of American Football. The station operates with 5,000 watts by day and 1,000 watts at night. It shares a broadcasting tower with KGB-FM and KHTS-FM in the East San Diego area. The station's studios are located in San Diego's Serra Mesa area on the northeast side.

Will C. Crawford High School, also known as Crawford High School and formerly Crawford Educational Complex, is a high school located in the El Cerrito neighborhood of San Diego, California United States. In the fall of 2012, the school was reorganized as a traditional school with one principal and two vice principals, and returned to its original name, Will C. Crawford High School. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,119 students and 48.54 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 23:05:1. There were 931 students (20.19% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 81 (7.24% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.It is part of the San Diego Unified School District. Erected in 1957 and dedicated in 1958, it is a comprehensive school serving 1,500 students in grades 9–12.

The station's studios are located in San Diego's Serra Mesa area, while the transmitter is located in Chollas View, which is east of Balboa Park and west of Emerald Hills, sharing facilities with KLSD. The station is available in HD Radio; the HD2 subchannel airs an LGBT-leaning dance hits format, carrying iHeart's Pride Radio network.

City Heights is located south of Mission Valley and northeast of Balboa Park.City Heights is notable as a home to refugees and immigrants, with significant communities of Vietnamese, Somali, Cambodian, Laotian, and Latino residents. Talmadge is a neighborhood of the mid-city region of San Diego, California. Its borders are defined by Fairmount Avenue to the West, Montezuma Road/Collwood Boulevard to the Northeast, and El Cajon Boulevard to the South. It is named after the Talmadge sisters (Norma, Natalie and Constance), who were silent film stars. In 1927, the Talmadge sisters opened the Talmadge Park real estate development, which contains streets named for each of the sisters.The architecture in Talmadge is eclectic, with styles including Spanish Revival, California bungalows, Cape Cod cottages and Normandy Style homes. Cliff May, a renowned Southern California architect, designed several homes in Talmadge. Kensington and Talmadge are sometimes grouped together as one community for official purposes, and they are part of the same community planning area.
