The Smith Estate, also known as El Mio (Spanish: "mine" or "my place"), is a historic Victorian house perched on a hilltop in the Highland Park section of Los Angeles, California. The street, El Mio, is named after the house, which is how the Smith family referred to it during their residence. Built in 1887, the house was designed in the Queen Anne style by Abram M. Edelman. It has been the residence of a judge who wrote books on occultism, the head of the Los Angeles Railway, and a deputy mayor; and as a shooting location for the cult films Spider Baby, Silent Scream and Insidious: Chapter 2. It has also been declared a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Highland Park Police Station on York Boulevard in the Highland Park section of Los Angeles, California, USA is the city's oldest surviving police station. Closed in 1983, the station is now operated as the Los Angeles Police Museum. It has been designated as a Historic Cultural Monument and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Benjamin Franklin High School (FHS) is a public high school in the Highland Park neighborhood, approximately seven miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, California, United States. It is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. First established in 1916 with an enrollment of 225 students, the school currently educates approximately 1,400 students.It was in the Los Angeles City High School District until 1961, when it merged into LAUSD.

Temple Beth Israel of Highland Park and Eagle Rock is an egalitarian synagogue located at 5711 Monte Vista Street in Highland Park, Los Angeles, California. Though originally a Conservative synagogue, it is unaffiliated with any Jewish religious movements.First organized as the Highland Park Hebrew School Association in 1923, it completed construction of its Spanish Colonial Revival style building in 1930, at a cost of $4,077.88 (today $66,000). It is the second oldest synagogue in Los Angeles still operating in its original location, after the Wilshire Boulevard Temple (built in 1929).

Highland Park station is an at-grade light rail station on the L Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located at the intersection of North Avenue 57 at Marmion Way (one block north of North Figueroa Street) in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, after which the station is named. The station opened on July 26, 2003, as part of the original Gold Line, then known as the "Pasadena Metro Blue Line" project. This station and all the other original and Foothill Extension stations will be part of the A Line upon completion of the Regional Connector project in 2023. The station features an architectural sculpture, called 'Stone Tree Inverted Post (Bound Water Light),' created by artist Jud Fine.During the construction and planning stages, Highland Park station was originally planned to be named Avenue 57 station, named for nearby Avenue 57. It was one of three stations to be renamed shortly before the line's opening. The original Highland Park station and freight depot, for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroad, was demolished in 1965.

The Old LA Certified Farmers Market (OLA CFM) operates in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The farmers market is open every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to dusk, year round. One of the newest certified farmers markets in the Los Angeles area, the OLA CFM opened in April 2006 and serves Highland Park and other neighborhoods in northeast Los Angeles, including Mt. Washington, Eagle Rock, Glassell Park, and Montecito Heights. The OLA CFM is of moderate size, with about 10 participating farmers. The market is located in the "downtown" center of Northeast Los Angeles, adjacent to the Highland Park station on the Metro L Line light rail at Marmion Way between Aves. 57 and 58, one block from Figueroa Street.

Pisgah Home Historic District is a historic district in the Highland Park section of Los Angeles, California. It was the site of the Pisgah Home movement begun by faith healer and social reformer, Finis E. Yoakum, in the early 1900s. The site is closely aligned with the founding of the modern Pentecostal church. It has been a mission used for religious and charitable purposes for more than 100 years. The area today is operated as the Christ Faith Mission/Old Pisgah Home.

The Santa Fe Arroyo Seco Railroad Bridge in Highland Park, Los Angeles, is more than 710 feet (220 m) long and crosses the Arroyo Seco Parkway at an elevation of over 56 feet (17 m). It is the tallest and longest railroad span in the city of Los Angeles, and most likely the oldest such structure still in use. The bridge crosses the lower part of the Arroyo Seco, a watershed canyon from the San Gabriel Mountains. The Santa Fe Arroyo Seco bridge, built in 1896, replaced the 1889 wooden trestle used by the Southern California Railway, which was a subsidiary of the Santa Fe Railroad. The 1889 bridge, designed by Santa Fe's chief structural engineer Fred T. Perris, replaced the original 1885 wooden trestle bridge built by the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley Railroad. Rail service ended in 1994 and in the late 1990s, the bridge was retrofitted to accommodate the Los Angeles MTA's Gold Line light rail system which opened on July 26, 2003.Advocated by the Highland Park Heritage Trust and Charles J. Fisher, the bridge was declared City of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 339 on January 22, 1988.
