National University of Engineering

The Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Arts (Spanish: Facultad de Arquitectura, Urbanismo y Artes) commonly referred as FAUA is one of the eleven constituent faculties of the National University of Engineering (Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería) located in Lima, Peru. It was founded in 1910 as the Special Section of Builders Architects (Sección Especial de Arquitectos Constructores) making it the first school of architecture to be established in Peru. The faculty is traditionally known as one of the leading schools of architecture in Peru because it paved the way of architecture in the country. Also, it is an accredited school by the Royal Institute of British Architects.

The Lima Peru Los Olivos Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the San Martin de Porres district, Lima, Peru. The temple was dedicated by D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on January 14, 2024.

Cayetano Heredia University (Spanish: Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, UPCH; or simply Cayetano Heredia) is a private nonprofit university located in Lima, Peru. It was named in honor of Cayetano Heredia, one of the eminent Peruvian physicians of the 19th century. The university is overseen by a board of trustees (patronato) and is not owned by any private or state entity. It is considered one of the top medical schools in Peru, along the Faculty of Medicine "San Fernando" of National University of San Marcos, and is currently one of the major producers and publishers of scientific research in the country.

Estadio Alberto Gallardo is a football stadium in the Rimac District of Lima, Peru, named after Alberto Gallardo, a former Peruvian football player and manager who played several years for Sporting Cristal. It is the home of football club Sporting Cristal. The stadium was built in the 1960s along the Rímac River for local football use and originally named Estadio San Martín de Porres. Many clubs playing in the Primera División, Segunda División, and district leagues of San Martín de Porres were among the many tenants the stadium had. In 1995, Sporting Cristal—one of the regular first division tenants of the stadium—decided to lease the venue from the Instituto Peruano del Deporte for 17 years. In 2012 the club signed a new lease contract for 10 years and will expire in 2022. The stadium itself has hosted few high-risk matches due to the limited access to the stadium and the low capacity of 11,600.

The Army Bridge (Spanish: Puente del Ejército) is a tied-arch bridge that crosses Rímac River in the limits of Rímac and San Martín de Porres districts of Lima, Peru. It joins Alfonso Ugarte Avenue to the south with Caquetá Avenue (former Pan-American Highway) to the north. It was inaugurated on December 31, 1936, under then president Óscar R. Benavides, and was later remodelled in the 1950s, under the presidency of Manuel A. Odría. Located next to the bridge is a velodrome, reopened in 2016.

The Quinta de Presa (mistakenly called the Perricholi Palace) is a French-style country mansion built in the 18th century during the government of the then viceroy of Peru, Manuel de Amat y Junyent. It comprises a constructed area of 15,159 square metres (163,170 sq ft). It is located in the jirón Chira of the Rímac district, Lima, Peru.

Ramón Castilla Square (Spanish: Plaza Ramón Castilla), formerly known as Union Square (Spanish: Plaza Unión), is a public square in the historic centre of Lima, Peru. It is one of three squares through which Alfonso Ugarte Avenue passes—the others being Dos de Mayo and Bolognesi—and is also located at the intersection of Argentina and Emancipación avenues. It is named after former president Ramón Castilla. A tunnel runs underneath the square, through which the Metropolitano passes up and down the avenue.

Rímac is a district in the Lima Province, Peru. It lies directly to the north of downtown Lima, to which it is connected by six bridges over the Rímac River. The district also borders the Independencia, San Martín de Porres, and San Juan de Lurigancho districts. Vestiges of Lima's colonial heyday remain today in an area of the Rímac district known as the Historic centre of Lima, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Downtown Rímac District has, like its southern counterpart, its eastern and western sides divided by Jirón Trujillo, which connects to Lima District's Jirón de la Unión through the Puente de Piedra, the oldest bridge in the whole city. Rímac's East side features the Plaza de Acho, the most famous bullfighting arena in South America and one of the most well known in the world. Looking directly from Puente Ricardo Palma on downtown Lima district's East side can be seen a large building with the logo of Cristal beer, one of two famous Peruvian brands. This was the main brewery until the Backus company moved operations to Ate in the 1990s. North of the plant goes the Alameda de los Descalzos, a short boulevard with a large planted median leading into the Convento de los Descalzos (Barefoot Monks convent). Built in the 18th century by the Spanish colonial government, it is one of the best features in this lower-middle-class district. Northern Rímac, or Amancaes, once romanticized in ballads as "La Flor de Amancaes", a hilly prairie, is now overrun with pueblos jóvenes (shanty towns). The Cerro San Cristóbal, which is the highest point in the Lima Province, is located in the district.

The Sanctuary of Saint Rose of Lima (Spanish: Santuario de Santa Rosa de Lima) is a sanctuary dedicated to Saint Rose of Lima (born Isabel Flores de Oliva). It is located in the remains of Oliva's house, including the well used by the family, which serves as a highlight of the convent among visitors.Because it was the residence of Rose of Lima and her family, it is also the location of the miracles attributed to her.The sanctuary was inaugurated on August 24, 1992, after being remodeled. It also features a painting of the Saint carried by Miguel Grau among the Huáscar.

St. Sebastian's Church (Spanish: Iglesia de San Sebastián) is a Catholic church in the historic centre of Lima in the corners of Ica and Chancay streets, one block from Tacna Avenue, in the old neighbourhood of Monserrate (then Cuartel Primero). Its pink and white front faces Jirón Ica. In antiquity, it is the third parish in Lima founded in 1554; It was preceded by the Tabernacle, in 1535, and Santa Ana, in 1550.

The May 2nd Square (Spanish: Plaza Dos de Mayo) is a square located in the historic center of Lima. Its construction was commissioned by the Peruvian government in the 1870s to commemorate the Battle of Callao, which had taken place on May 2, 1866. It was built over a previous square known as the Oval of the Queen (Spanish: Óvalo de la Reina), located near the gates of the city, which had since been overrun by urban growth. The square is dominated by a central monument, built in France and reassembled in Peru between 1873 and 1874, allowing the square to be inaugurated in July 1874. The architect was Edmond Guillaume; the sculptor of the finial figure of Nike and the historical and allegorical bronzes was Louis-Léon Cugnot. Several important avenues have radiate out of the plaza, including Alfonso Ugarte, Colmena and Colonial. In the late 20th century a vehicular tunnel was built under the plaza to curb traffic congestions.

The Church of Saint Lazarus (Spanish: Iglesia de San Lázaro) is a Catholic church in Rímac District, part of the Historic Centre of Lima, Peru. Built in 1586, it was the first church built in the area. Since then it has been rebuilt several times after the damage left by the various earthquakes in Peru. It is located on block five of Jirón Trujillo, at the intersection with Francisco Pizarro Avenue. Up until the 19th century, the church gave the neighbourhood of San Lázaro its name, until it separated from Lima District as the district of Rímac.
