Interstellar Rodeo was an annual three-day outdoor music event held the last weekend of July in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, established in 2012 and held at the Heritage Amphitheatre within Hawrelak Park. From 2015 to 2017, Six Shooter Records also had an Interstellar Rodeo in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The final Edmonton Interstellar Rodeo was in 2019. The festival showcases performers from numerous genres. Notable performers to date include Blue Rodeo, Randy Newman and Hawksley Workman in 2012, and Alabama Shakes, Steve Earle and the Dukes, Sarah Harmer, Serena Ryder and Shout Out Out Out Out in 2013.

The Freewill Shakespeare Festival (known as the River City Shakespeare Festival from 1998–2009) is a Shakespeare festival in Edmonton, Alberta, produced by the Edmonton-based Free Will Players every summer from late-June to mid-July. Its performances take place in the 1,000-seat Heritage Amphitheater in Hawrelak Park. The Festival includes full-scale professional productions of two plays by William Shakespeare; as well as Camp Shakespeare, a summer drama camp for youth ages 8–16. Founded in 1989, the festival was renamed the Freewill Shakespeare Festival in 2008.Due to significant damage to Freewill's traditional venue at the Heritage Amphitheatre, the festival's 2014 season took place inside the Myer Horowitz Theatre in the University of Alberta's Students' Union Building (8900 114 Street).

William Hawrelak Park (or simply Hawrelak Park) is a park in Edmonton, Alberta. Formerly known as Mayfair Park, it was initially going to be developed into a 500-lot subdivision; however, when the Strathcona Land Syndicate forfeited their taxes the city obtained the title for the land in 1922. This land lay unused until 1954, when Mayor William Hawrelak proposed to create a 350-acre (1.4 km2) riverside park in this area as it would “fit into the overall park development of the City along the lines of the zoo, and the golf courses and other picnic areas”. The digging of the man-made lakes began in 1959 and later was completed in 1964 but had few facilities. The official opening day of Mayfair Park was on Dominion Day, July 1, 1967. It was renamed in 1982 for Hawrelak, who died in office in 1975 while serving as mayor of Edmonton.

Groat Bridge is a bridge that spans the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is a part of Groat Road. The bridge is composed of two spans that are side by side. The original structure was rehabilitated in 1990 and again in 2020. The 2020 $48 million rehabilitation saw the decks of both spans replaced one side at a time, with the new decks placed on the existing piers. The new decks feature an expanded shared-use path on the east side of the bridge (4.2 metres (14 ft) wide, compared to the original 2.4 metres (7.9 ft) wide sidewalk). Groat bridge connects the communities of River Valley Mayfair on the south end to River Valley Glenora on the north end.

Cross Cancer Institute is the comprehensive cancer centre for northern Alberta. The institute, named for Wallace Warren Cross, is located in Edmonton near the southwest corner of the University of Alberta, and is one of two tertiary cancer centres in the province. The Cross Cancer Institute is a lead centre for the province-wide prevention, research and treatment program. The centre provides inpatient and outpatient services for cancer patients, advanced medical and supportive cancer care, and patient and professional education. The Cross Cancer Institute conducts research through the Alberta Cancer Research Institute.The Department of Oncology, a branch of the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, is located at the Cross Cancer Institute. The department offers training in medical oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care medicine, and medical physics.

Edmonton-Centre formerly styled Edmonton Centre from 1959 to 1971 was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting from 1959 to 2019.

The National Research Council of Canada Nanotechnology Research Centre (formerly National Institute for Nanotechnology) is a research institution located on the University of Alberta main campus, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Its primary purpose is nanoscience research. The institute was established in 2001 as a partnership between the National Research Council of Canada, the University of Alberta, and the Government of Alberta. It is administered as an institute of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), and governed by a Board of Trustees nominated by the partners. Its core funding comes from the Government of Canada and additional funding and research support comes from the university, Government of Alberta, and various federal and provincial funding agencies. In June 2006, the institute moved into its present 200,000 m2 (2,200,000 sq ft) facility, designed to be one of the world's largest buildings for nanotechnological research. There are at most two or three other facilities worldwide matching the new building in scale and capacity.In 2017, the institute became the Nanotechnology Research Centre, following a recognition of the institute as its own research centre. Although on the premises of the University of Alberta, the research centre is a branch of the National Research Council of Canada.

Clare Drake Arena is a 3,009-seat multi-purpose arena in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is home to the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas ice hockey teams and was named after former University of Alberta Golden Bears hockey coach, Clare Drake, who led the Golden Bears to 697 career wins.

The Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium is a 4-million-cubic-foot (110,000 m3) performing arts, culture and community facility, located in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Universiade Pavilion, better known as the Butterdome, is a 5,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on the campus of the University of Alberta. It was built for the 1983 Summer Universiade. While the official name of the facility is the Universiade Pavilion, because of its rectangular shape and bright yellow exterior, locals quickly began referring to it as the Butterdome. Today, even the University of Alberta often uses this nickname to refer to this structure.The upper sections of the regular seating are permanently mounted, while the lower sections are collapsible to increase the space available on the floor. During the University Games, the capacity was increased to 11,000 using temporary bleachers. Facilities at the Pavilion include: 6-lane rubberized 200m indoor track (10-lane 60m sprint straightaway) 4 basketball/volleyball/tennis courts 4 badminton courts Long jump and pole vault Wrestling roomThe facility also hosts indoor soccer, flatball, and field hockey games.

The University of Alberta Students' Union is the student society that represents undergraduate students at the University of Alberta. Originally established in 1909, it is a non-profit corporation that operates under the authority of the Post-Secondary Learning Act (Alberta). Its membership consists of the roughly 34,000 undergraduate students enrolled at the university. With an annual budget of approximately $14,000,000 and hundreds of paid and volunteer staff, the Students' Union serves as an advocate for students and provides a variety of services to its members. The Students' Union also operates a number of businesses, manages various targeted trust funds, hosts a wide variety of entertainment and educational events, and runs the Students' Union Building.
