Bangabasi College

Bangabasi Morning College is an undergraduate college affiliated with the University of Calcutta. It is located at Sealdah in the heart of the city of Kolkata. It has a very large auditorium named as P.K. Bose Memorial Hall.

Entally (also spelt Entali) is a neighbourhood of Central Kolkata, in Kolkata district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It was considered close to the area which was home to the poor and the depressed castes. Mother Teresa started her activities in Entally.

The 2006 West Bengal train disaster was a fatal suspected terrorist explosion on a train travelling between New Jalpaiguri and Haldibari that occurred on 20 November 2006, when the train was in a remote part of West Bengal State, India. Five people were killed, and between fifty and twenty-five were injured, although home secretary Prasad Ranjan Ray says officials believe there may in fact be as many as sixty-six injured. Two passenger cars were damaged. The explosion was due to a still-undetermined cause, but terrorism is suspected. The train was about 550 kilometres (340 mi) from Kolkata.

Surendranath Law College (Bengali :সুরেন্দ্রনাথ আইন কলেজ) formerly known as Ripon College) is an postgraduate law college affiliated with the University of Calcutta. It was established in Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal in 1885 by a trust formed by the nationalist leader, scholar and educationist Surendranath Banerjee, a year after he founded Surendranath College. This is now regarded one of the oldest Law college of British India.

Surendranath College for Women, established in 1948, is an undergraduate women's college in Sealdah, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The crucial aim of this college is to give quality training to the ordinary students to make them confident. The college likewise gives free education to around 10% of the students who can't manage the cost of the small expense charged by the college. Giving important training to young women from poor families is the center mission of the college.

The Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is an annual film festival held in Kolkata, India. Founded in 1995, it is the third oldest international film festival in India. The festival is organized by the West Bengal Film Centre under the West Bengal Government. In 2019, it was held from 8 November to 15 November.Duration will be not less than 60 minutes for featured films. The length of short films must be not more than 30 minutes, and for documentaries not more than 60 minutes. Productions may not be older than two years and must be an Indian premiere.
