Oakley, also been known as the Dr. John W. Franklin House, is a historic house near Gallatin, Tennessee, overlooking Old Hickory Lake. It was built in 1852 to a design by architect William Strickland. Oakley was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The listing included two contributing buildings and a contributing structure on 1.8 acres (0.73 ha).The property is privately owned. It has served as the home and studio of local artist Frank Gee.

Isaac Franklin Plantation, also known as Fairvue, is an antebellum plantation house in Gallatin, Tennessee. Fairvue Plantation was built in 1832 for Isaac Franklin (1789–1846). Franklin retired to be a planter there after a career as a partner in the largest slave-trading firm in the South prior to the Civil War. After his death, the property was inherited by his widow, Adelicia Acklen. The land of the former estate was long cultivated for agriculture.Fairvue was named a National Historic Landmark in 1977. The Club at Fairvue Plantation opened in 2004. In 2005, the house's historic landmark status was withdrawn due to development that had damaged its historic integrity. Much of the plantation property was developed for a gated community of large, luxury suburban mansions.

The Walnut Grove is a historic mansion in Gallatin, Tennessee, U.S.. It was built circa 1800, and expanded in the 1820s. The original owner was Charles Elliott, and his brother Elliott lived at Wall Spring nearby. It includes a portico, and a staircase designed in the Federal style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 29, 1978.

Gallatin High School (GHS) is one of three public high schools in Gallatin, Tennessee. The school is located at 700 Dan P. Herron Drive in Gallatin and the current principal is Ron Becker. It is part of Sumner County Schools.

Wall Spring, also known as Elliott Springs, is a historic mansion on a farm in Gallatin, Tennessee, U.S.. It was a horse farm in the Antebellum Era.

Old Hickory Lake is a reservoir in north central Tennessee. It is formed by the Old Hickory Lock and Dam (36°17′48″N 86°39′20″W), located on the Cumberland River at mile 216.2 in Sumner and Davidson counties, approximately 25 miles (40 km) upstream from Nashville. The city of Hendersonville is situated on the northern shoreline of the lake, and Old Hickory, a portion of Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County, is located on the southern side of the lake, just upstream of the lock and dam. The lake extends 97.3 miles (156.6 km) upstream to Cordell Hull Lock and Dam (36°17′25″N 85°56′36″W), near Carthage, Tennessee. The dam and lake are named after President Andrew Jackson (nicknamed "Old Hickory"), who lived in the vicinity, at The Hermitage. The lock, dam, powerhouse and lake are operated and supervised by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff under the direction of the District Engineer at Nashville. Construction started in January 1952, and dam closure was completed in June 1954. Historic Rock Castle, completed in 1796, is the former home of pioneer Daniel Smith. He is known for his contributions in settling Hendersonville in the early nineteenth century. The lake now borders this property. Old Hickory Lake is a mainstream storage impoundment on the Cumberland River operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The reservoir contains 22,500 acres (91 km2) at an elevation of 445 feet (above sea level) and extends 97.3 river miles. Water level fluctuations are minimal with minimum pool elevation at 442 feet (135 m). Public facilities include eight marinas, two Corps-operated campgrounds, and 41 boat access sites, as well as the Old Hickory Lake Arboretum.

Trousdale Place is a historic mansion in Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee. It was the home of John H. Bowen, local attorney and member of the United States House of Representatives, and of governor of Tennessee William Trousdale.

Gallatin First Presbyterian Church is a historic church in Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee, affiliated with Presbyterian Church (USA). It occupies the oldest church building in Gallatin in continuous existence. The congregation was organized on October 25, 1828. Church construction took place during 1836–1837. It is built in the early Greek Revival architectural style.The sanctuary was used as a hospital for Federal troops during the Civil War. The same room suffered major fire damage, from an unattended candle, in December 2004. As a result, the sanctuary was gutted and rebuilt over the course of the following year. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is also registered with the Presbyterian Historical Society of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is designated as an American Presbyterian and Reformed Historical Site.

WVCP is the college radio station of Volunteer State Community College ("Vol State") in Gallatin, Tennessee, broadcasting at 88.5 MHz on the FM dial. It falls under the oversight of the Department of Communication and is managed by Marconi-winning faculty member Dianna Kelly Monk. Students and volunteers make up the airstaff. The station plays a mix of classic hits, ranging from the 60s to 90s.

WYXE (1130 AM, "Radio Vida 1130") is a religious radio station broadcasting in Spanish from Gallatin, Tennessee. It operates only during daytime hours. It is owned by Iglesia de Dios Hispana de Nashville.
