The Houston Yacht Club is the oldest yacht club in Texas. In LaPorte, near Houston, it is a member of the Gulf Yachting Association.

The Bayport Container Terminal, or simply the Bayport Terminal, is a major deep water port in the Greater Houston area in Texas (United States). This relatively new terminal, part of the Port of Houston, is designed to handle standardized cargo containers and offload the nearby Barbours Cut Terminal, which has no further room for expansion. The Bayport Terminal is situated along the Bayport Ship Channel off Galveston Bay, between La Porte, Texas and Seabrook, Texas adjacent to Shoreacres. This channel itself feeds into the larger Houston Ship Channel, which runs from Houston, through Galveston Bay, to the Gulf of Mexico. The port sits adjacent to the Bayport Industrial District, a large complex of firms primarily involved in petroleum and petrochemical processing. The facilities at Bayport formerly included a cruise ship terminal, built at a cost of US$81 million. The terminal briefly saw use for cruises following Hurricane Ike when ships like Carnival Cruise Lines Ecstasy and Conquest were re-routed from the damaged Port of Galveston to Bayport for nearly two months. Bayport Cruise Terminal was a planned port of call for both Princess Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line in 2013-2014. The cruise ships have since abandoned the terminal and the Port of Houston has dismantled the gangways.

Shoreacres is a city located in Harris County in the U.S. state of Texas alongside State Highway 146. Established with a mayor-alderman form of city government, it was incorporated in 1949. The population was 1,566 at the 2020 census.

Pine Gully Park is a 52-acre (21 ha) park located in Seabrook, Texas in the United States, near Houston. It is located on the shore of Galveston Bay. The park belongs to the Seabrook Trail System and includes undeveloped and restored woodlands, salt marshes and several species of wildlife.

Seabrook is a city in Harris County in the U.S. state of Texas, with some water surface area located within Chambers County. The population was 11,952 at the 2010 U.S. census, and 14,149 in 2019. Several fish markets line the city's waterfront, while antique shops and bed and breakfast establishments are found in the city's downtown area. The city is home to several miles of trails, which connect multiple city parks to each other.

Clear Creek is a small river in Southeast Texas in the United States, which channels much of the run-off in southeast Harris County into Clear Lake and Galveston Bay. Much of the length of the stream forms the boundary between Harris County and Galveston County and all of the boundary with Brazoria County. It originates in the Blue Ridge Oilfield in Fort Bend County.

La Porte High School is a High school based in La Porte, Texas, United States. It is part of the La Porte Independent School District. The school serves the cities of La Porte, Morgan's Point, and Shoreacres, as well as a small portion of Pasadena and of Deer Park.After 1946 the school moved into a new campus built on the same location, until 1959 when it relocated into a new campus built nearby. Over the years the campus has had many additions, such as E building, first built in 1968, and B building, built in 1986. Both buildings contained additional classrooms. The campus added a vocational wing, a new basketball gymnasium, swimming pool, and the Sonja Angelo Theater in 1976. In the early 1990s the school added a science wing, a new field house, and the Henry Eienfelt Band Hall. A bond referendum approved major renovations for the campus, including a major renovation of the Sonja Angelo Theater, demolition and replacement of the old gymnasium built in 1958, major renovations to the deteriorating cafeteria, and major renovations to the football and baseball stadiums.

The Kemah Boardwalk is a 60-acre Texas Gulf Coast theme park in Kemah, Texas, approximately 30 miles southeast of Downtown Houston, Texas. The Boardwalk is built entirely along the shores of Galveston Bay and Clear Lake. The complex is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc., and is home to more than 10 restaurants, a collection of rides, midway games, attractions, a boutique hotel, a charter yacht, a 400-slip marina and multiple shops. There is no charge to walk around on the boardwalk. Tickets for rides can be purchased individually or all-day ride passes are available.

Clear Lake is a brackish harbor located near Houston, Texas, U.S., in Harris County. The lake feeds Galveston Bay. It is bordered by Houston (Clear Lake City), Pasadena, League City, Clear Lake Shores, Taylor Lake Village, Seabrook and El Lago, Texas. NASA's Johnson Space Center lies near its shores. The lake is a major recreation center and home to one of the largest concentrations of recreational boats and marinas in the nation. The communities surrounding the lake, known collectively as the Clear Lake Area, contain a large base of tourism and high-tech businesses.

El Lago is a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,090 at the 2020 census.El Lago has particular historical significance, as it sits on the site of one of the main hide-outs for the French pirate and privateer Jean Lafitte.

The Boardwalk Bullet is a wooden roller coaster at the Kemah Boardwalk amusement park in Kemah, Texas, United States. Opened August 31, 2007, it is the only wooden roller coaster in Greater Houston, and one of only four wooden coasters in Texas. It is a 96-foot-tall (29 m), 3,236-foot-long (986 m) twisted wooden roller coaster designed by The Gravity Group built on a 1-acre (0.40 ha) footprint, making it one of the most compact wooden coasters in the world. The bullet is one of the most popular rides at Kemah Boardwalk.

The Bayport Industrial District is a large commercial real-estate development located in Southeast Harris County, Texas, within the Bay Area of Greater Houston. It is one of the two industrial districts in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of La Porte (the other being the Battleground Industrial District). It is located adjacent to both La Porte and Seabrook, Texas. In 1965 the City of Pasadena and the City of Houston both annexed an area that included the site of Bayport resulting in a lawsuit between Pasadena and City of Houston. Houston was joined by Harris County and Humble Oil & Refining Company in the lawsuit. In 1969 the Supreme Court of Texas reversed lower court rulings that had sustained Houston's motion for summary judgment and upheld the validity of Pasadena's 1965 annexation of the disputed territory. In 1970 the City of Pasadena created an industrial district that included the Bayport complex. The development, created in 1970, is among the largest private industrial complexes in the United States. The leading center for chemical processing in the Houston area, Bayport contains more than 60 chemical plants. Businesses located in this district can receive tax incentives from Harris County, La Porte, and Pasadena. As of 2007 local business volume for Bayport-related enterprises exceeds $829 million annually with 11,000 jobs directly attributable to the complex. Additionally the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership estimates that for every job created within the complex approximately 3.79 related jobs are created on average outside the district. Thus the district represents a key economic pillar of the communities in the area.Major facilities in the district include the LyondellBasell site, the Celanese/Air Products/Clariant/Dow site, and the Albemarle/Akzo Nobel site.Adjacent to the industrial complex is the new Bayport Terminal, which contains both a major new cargo container shipping terminal and a cruise ship terminal. This port is operated by the Port of Houston Authority.
