Grottammare is a town and comune on Italy's Adriatic coast, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, Marche region. It is a member of the I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy") association.The town is crossed by the 43rd parallel north. Economy is mostly based on summer tourism; other sectors include food and vegetables production, mechanics, and commerce.

Riviera delle Palme is a tourist area along the Marche Coast of Italy. It extends from Cupra Marittima to the Tronto River, passing through Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto. It is considered one of the most important touristic location of the Marche region. The name of the region derives from the thousands of palm trees, mainly of the species Phoenix canariensis, Washingtonia and P. sylvestris that are prevalent in the landscape. Originally the name was attributed only to the area around San Benedetto del Tronto, where about 8,000 palm trees of various species can be found, and where the palm tree has long been a symbol of the city. The name Riviera delle Palme was adopted by a tourist consortium established in 2000 which, in addition to the aforementioned coastal municipalities, also includes municipalities inland.

San Benedetto del Tronto is a city and comune in Marche, Italy. Part of an urban area with 100,000 inhabitants, it is one of the most densely populated areas along the Adriatic Sea coast. It is the most populated city in Province of Ascoli Piceno, with 46,957 (November 2022). Its port is one of the biggest on the Adriatic; it is the most important centre of Riviera of the Palms, with over 8,000 Phoenix canariensis, Washingtonia and P. sylvestris plants.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Benedetto del Tronto-Ripatransone-Montalto has been a suffragan see of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Fermo since 1680.

The Stadio Riviera delle Palme is a multi-use stadium in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of S.S. Sambenedettese Calcio. The stadium has a capacity of 13,708 and it lies between San Benedetto and its civil parish Porto d'Ascoli.

Acquaviva Picena is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche. The village lies on a hill over the Valley of Tronto, just a few kilometres from the Adriatic Sea and San Benedetto del Tronto. From the top of the hill (365 m.s.l.), it’s possible to see the Sibillini Mountains (Monte Vettore), and even the further away Gran Sasso and Majella.

The Tronto (Latin: Truentus) is a 115-kilometre (71 mi) long Italian river that arises at Monti della Laga and ends in the Adriatic Sea at Porto d'Ascoli, San Benedetto del Tronto. It traverses the Lazio, Marche, and Abruzzo regions of Italy. The source of the Tronto is in the Monti della Laga mountain range in the province of Rieti. Monte Gorzano is north of the source of the river and Lake Campotosto is south of the source of the river. The source of the river is near the place where the provinces of Rieti, Teramo, and L'Aquila meet. From its source in the Monti della Laga mountains, the Tronto flows northwest near Amatrice and Lago di Scandarello and crosses the border into the province of Ascoli Piceno near Accumoli. From there, it flows northeast and flows past Arquata del Tronto and then curves east and flows past Acquasanta Terme. The river then flows northeast and curves east and flows past Ascoli Piceno, where it receives its largest tributary, the Castellano. The river continues flowing east near Folignano and eventually forms the border between the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Teramo near Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata and Castel di Lama. The river continues flowing east near Spinetoli, Monsampolo del Tronto, and Colonnella and finally enters the Adriatic Sea by Martinsicuro and Porto d'Ascoli.

Colonnella is a comune in the Province of Teramo in the Italian region Abruzzo of eastern Italy.
