Cascade is an unincorporated community in Marquette County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is located within Richmond Township. As an unincorporated community, Cascade has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own. The community was named from the presence of the Cascade Iron Mining Company in the area. Iron ore was discovered in the area in 1873, and the station at the junction between the Chicago and Northwestern Railway and the Marquette, Houghton and Ontonagon Railroad was called Cascade Junction.

Marquette Mountain Resort is a small mountain and ski resort in Marquette, Michigan, the major city in the state's Upper Peninsula. The resort offers winter sports seasonally as well as mountain biking, volleyball, and hiking in the spring, summer, and fall. The hill has a summit elevation of 1,257 ft (383 m) above sea level, over 300 acres and a vertical drop of 457 ft (139 m). The recipient of lake effect snow from nearby Lake Superior, Marquette Mountain Resort receives an average of 150 in (380 cm) of snowfall annually. It has three chairlifts and a rope tow and is equipped with LED lighting for night skiing. The shore of the lake's Marquette Bay is just two miles (3.2 km) to the northeast. ten miles (16 km) to the south is the extensive runway of the county's Sawyer International Airport. The resort's parking lot is adjacent to highway M-553.

Harvey is a census-designated place (CDP) in Marquette County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,244 as of the 2020 census, up from 1,393 in 2010, before the CDP was enlarged by the Census Bureau. The CDP is located within Chocolay and Sands townships. Originally called "Harvey Location", the community is a southwest suburb of Marquette at the junction of U.S. Route 41 and M-28.

The Chocolay River ( CHAH-kə-lay) is a 21.7-mile-long (34.9 km) tributary of Lake Superior in Marquette County on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the United States. It forms at the confluence of its West and East Branches west of Skandia and flows generally north, then west, to Lake Superior at the village of Harvey, 3 miles (5 km) southeast of the city of Marquette.

The Marquette Branch Prison (MBP) is located in Marquette, Michigan on the south shore of Lake Superior. The prison, which opened in 1889, is a facility of the Michigan Department of Corrections that holds about 1,100 inmates in maximum and minimum-security housing. The inmate population consists of adult males, aged eighteen and older. The prison was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as State House of Correction and Branch Prison on November 23, 1977.MBP was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in order to maintain its original buildings. MBP has become one of the state's most outstanding tourist attractions because of the beautiful flower gardens and other landscaping around the prison grounds. MBP was a prison full of attempted escapes, bloodshed, and reconstruction during the 19th century.The first outdoor game to feature an official NHL team was held on February 2, 1954. The Detroit Red Wings played an exhibition game on an outdoor ice surface, in 21 °F (−6 °C) degree weather, against inmates at Marquette Branch Prison. After the first period the Red Wings led in the game 18–0; the rest of the game the score was not kept.

Chocolay Township ( CHAH-kə-lay) is a charter township in Marquette County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 5,899 at the 2020 census. The township is named for the Chocolay River and is located on the shore of Lake Superior.

WUPZ (94.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to Chocolay Charter Township, Michigan serving the Marquette, Michigan market. The station is currently owned by Armada Media Corporation, through licensee AMC Partners Escanaba, LLC, and was granted its license on September 29, 2006. The station signed on in May 2009 with a Top 40 (CHR) format. WUPZ has a rhythmic lean to it. The station air staff includes Jason Lee, Cory Lane, Kirk Sanders and Jon Perrault.

WNGE (99.5 FM, "99.5 K-Rock") is a radio station licensed to Negaunee, Michigan, broadcasting an active rock format. The station first went on the air in July 2001. The station transmits its signal from an antenna with a height of 430 feet (130 m) with an effective radiated power of 3,600 watts located atop a hill in Marquette Township just west of the city of Marquette. In July 2020, WNGE changed their format from classic hits to active rock, branded as "99.5 K-Rock". The format moved from sister station WUPK 94.1 FM, which switched to soft adult contemporary as "The Breeze."

WJPD (92.3 FM) is a radio station licensed to Ishpeming, Michigan broadcasting a country music format. It serves the Marquette area. It can be heard as far east as Newberry, as far north as Thunder Bay, as far west as Bergland, and as far south as Ludington.
