Cira Centre South

The Cira Centre is a 29-story, 437-foot (133 m) office high-rise in the University City section of Philadelphia, directly connected to Amtrak's 30th Street Station. Developed by Brandywine Realty Trust and designed by César Pelli, it was built in 2004-05 on a platform over rail tracks. The building, a silver glass curtain wall skyscraper with 731,852 square feet (68,000 m2) of floor space, includes retail and restaurant space, a conference room, a nine-story parking garage and a pedestrian bridge that links the lobby with 30th Street Station. The building's lighting, designed by Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design, includes a wall of LEDs on most of its facade that can change color to create various patterns and effects. The Cira Centre built in a Keystone Opportunity Zone, a state-designated district established to combat urban decay (in this case, part of an underused railyard) by exempting tenants of new buildings from almost all state and local taxes.

30th Street Station, officially William H. Gray III 30th Street Station, is a major intermodal transit station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is metropolitan Philadelphia's main railroad station and a major stop on Amtrak's Northeast and Keystone corridors. The station is also a major commuter rail station served by all SEPTA Regional Rail lines and is the western terminus for NJ Transit's Atlantic City Line. The station is also served by several SEPTA city and suburban buses and by NJ Transit, Amtrak Thruway, and intercity operators. The station, which served more than four million inter-city rail passengers in 2018, is Amtrak's third-busiest after Penn Station in Manhattan and Union Station in Washington, D.C., and North America's 12th-busiest train station overall.

Avenue of Technology is a city designated technology-based district on a segment of Market Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The area is known for being the "portal of technology" of the city that includes the University City Science Center and Drexel University. The area was originally dedicated by the mayor Ed Rendell with street plates acknowledging this section of road with turquoise signs.In May 2014, a project with Google Earth was launched to document the mobility in the region.

The Pennsylvania Railroad World War II Memorial is a monument on the main concourse of 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It commemorates the 1,307 Pennsylvania Railroad employees who died in World War II.

United States Post Office-Main Branch is a historic post office building located in the University City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located across from Amtrak's 30th Street Station. It was built between 1931 and 1935, and is a six-story, steel frame building clad in limestone in the Art Deco-style. It measures 386 feet (118 m) wide and 455 feet (139 m) long.The world's first scheduled rotorcraft airmail service served the Post Office. The building had been designed with a flat roof with underfloor heating to prevent snow and ice. It also had take-off ramps, radio and weather reporting equipment, and fuelling and maintenance facilities. The operation, flown by Kellett KD-1B autogyros of Eastern Air Lines, started on 6 July 1939. The contract for the route, AM2001, involved five flights per day, six days a week, between the Post Office and Camden Central Airport, 6 miles (9.7 km) away in Camden, New Jersey. The main pilot was Johnny Miller. The contract ended a year later, with 2,634 flights completed, representing 85% of all scheduled flights – a very impressive statistic for the time. However, the contract was not renewed.The facility closed on September 29, 2008 when main distribution center activities moved to a new facility adjacent to the Philadelphia International Airport. A new retail location was opened nearby at 3000 Chestnut Street. The building has been converted into office space, including the regional headquarters of the IRS.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

John Shedwick Development Houses (also known as the Lancastle) is a set of four historic rowhouses located in the Powelton Village neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were built in 1875–1876, and are built of brick, with green serpentine limestone facing in the Second Empire-style. They feature wooden first floor porches, projecting bay windows, and mansard roofs with dormers.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Many fables exist regarding the characters who lived in the Lancastle.

30th Street station is an underground SEPTA rapid transit and trolley station in Philadelphia. It is located on Market Street between 30th and 31st Streets in the University City neighborhood, adjacent to 30th Street Station and Drexel University. The station features four tracks – the inner pair serving the Market–Frankford Line and the outer pair for subway–surface trolleys.

The John F. Kennedy Boulevard Bridge was built in 1959 and reconstructed 2009 by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. It carries three lanes (two lanes westbound, one lane eastbound) of John F. Kennedy Boulevard (Pennsylvania Route 3 westbound, known as Pennsylvania Boulevard until 1963) across the Schuylkill River, Schuylkill River Trail, and CSX Transportation tracks. The overpass continues east, passing over 23rd, 22nd, and 21st streets to terminate at 20th Street. The bridge runs parallel to the SEPTA Regional Rail's Main Line tracks.

The Market Street Bridge carries Market Street (Pennsylvania Route 3 eastbound), the primary east-west street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, across the Schuylkill River. The current bridge is the fifth permanent structure built at the site.

The Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) is an agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that manages many parking operations for Philadelphia. The PPA was created by the Philadelphia City Council on January 11, 1950, for the purpose of conducting research for management of off-street parking and to establish a permanent, coordinated system of parking facilities in the city. Since then, the PPA's scope has expanded to include parking operations at the Philadelphia International Airport, most street-parking policy enforcement, and regulation and enforcement of taxicabs and limousines.The PPA's status as an agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania rather than the City of Philadelphia allows for the Republican-controlled state authorities to offer patronage positions in the largely Democratic city. The former board chairman Joseph Ashedale has over 10 family members on the agency's payroll. The Vine Street Expressway Bridge was built in 1959 and reconstructed 1989 by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. It carries Interstate 676 (Vine Street Expressway) over the Schuylkill River, CSX Transportation tracks, and a North 24th Street ramp, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
