Transcona Museum is a museum in Winnipeg, Manitoba, that's mission is to preserve and promote the community spirit of Transcona, through sharing our history and stories for the benefit of all.The museum was founded in 1967 as Transcona's Centennial Project celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada and officially opened on October 15, 1968. It was originally located in the basement of the Transcona Public Library.Today, the museum is located in one of two municipally designated heritage building in Transcona. This historic building was originally constructed by the Bank of Toronto in 1925 and later served as the Transcona Municipal Office. This building is owned and operated by the City of Winnipeg. Over the years, the TM has acquired an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs and documentary records that together tell the story of Transcona's community history. These collections include everything from railway artifacts, items from early Transcona businesses, historic clothing and household objects, to special natural and cultural history collections. The Museum is affiliated with the CMA, CHIN, and Virtual Museum of Canada. In the early 2000s, Transcona Museum planned for expansion.

Transcona is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. The riding was created by redistribution in 1968, and has formally existed since the 1969 provincial election. The riding is named after and contains Transcona, a neighbourhood in the easternmost tip of the city of Winnipeg. It is bordered to the west by Radisson, Southdale, and St. Boniface, and in all other directions by the rural riding of Springfield-Ritchot.The population in 1996 was 19,648. The average family income in 1999 was $50,089, with an unemployment rate of 6.70%. There is a significant Ukrainian Canadian population in the riding, about 7% of the total. The riding is primarily working-class, and includes the Canadian National Railway rail yards. Fifteen percent of the riding's industry is in the manufacturing sector, with a further 14% in retail trade. The former New Democratic Party (NDP) party leader Russell Paulley represented the riding for eight years. Candidates from the NDP have won Transcona in all but two of the provincial elections (1988 and 2016, both of which coincided with large provincewide declines in NDP support) in which it has participated since 1969.

Calvin Christian Collegiate is a high school in Transcona, Manitoba, Canada. Calvin was established in 2002 and delivers education from a Christian perspective.

Radisson School, originally Radisson Elementary School, is a school that is part of River East Transcona School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was built in 1957 and was originally an eight-room building. Radisson was named for famed fur trader Pierre-Esprit Radisson, the unanimous choice of the students. Margaret Underhill was the first principal of the school and first female principal in the division.

Transcona Collegiate Institute (TCI) is a secondary education institution located in the Transcona suburb of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Transcona Collegiate teaches grades nine through twelve, with approximately 670 students and 60 staff members. Transcona Collegiate was opened in 1969, and in the following year an additional six classrooms were added. During the 1999–2000 school year a 16,000 sq ft (1,500 m2) addition was added to the school, extending out to the west and north.

The Transcona-Springfield School Division is a former school division in Manitoba. The Transcona portion of TSSD 12 merged with the River East School Division in 2002 to create the new River East Transcona School Division. The Springfield portion merged with other eastern divisions to create the Sunrise School Division.

Club Regent Casino is a casino located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is one of two casinos in the city—the other being the McPhillips Street Station Casino—both of which are owned and operated by the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corporation, and thus the Government of Manitoba.Connected to the casino is the Canad Inns Club Regent Hotel, as well as the Club Regent Event Centre, which opened in 2014.Club Regent is located in the Winnipeg neighborhood of Transcona on Regent Avenue, and is 15 km (25-minute drive) from the Winnipeg International Airport. The casino opened in 1993, after an assessment regarding the distribution of gambling revenue was released.The casino contains a McDonald's restaurant, as well as a concert stage, on which regular comedy, and musical performances are scheduled.

Collège Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau is part of River East Transcona School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It opened its doors in September 1990 with a population of 140 students and 14 teachers. By 2006, the school had grown to 330 students and a staff of 21 teachers. In 2006, Collège Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau was designated an unesco school. United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation which there declared purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through educational, scientific, and cultural reforms in order to increase universal respect for justice, the rule of law, and human rights along with fundamental freedom proclaimed in the United Nations Charter. It was the first and only public school that was approved by Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau to be named after him.

Symington Yard is the largest rail classification yard of the Canadian National Railway, and one of the largest rail yards in the world. The intermodal facility is located next to the Windsor Park area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.Built in 1962 to replace Transcona and Fort Rouge, and named for former CNR Director Herbert James Symington (1881–1965), it can store 7,000 cars and handles 3,000 cars per day.

The Canadian National Railway Symington Yards are in the southern part of the riding. The riding's population in 1996 was 20,113. In 1999, the average family income was $54084, and the unemployment rate was 4.60%. Radisson's francophone population is 9%, and there are also significant Ukrainian (7%) and German (6%) communities. Manufacturing accounts for 14% of Radisson's industry, with a further 13% in the retail trade. New Democratic Party MLA and former party leader Russell Paulley represented the riding for many years, although the boundaries changed dramatically with the 1998 redistribution. The Progressive Conservatives won the riding in 1977, and the Liberals did the same in 1988. In both cases, the NDP regained the seat after a single term.
