Llanishen Reservoir

Ty Gwyn is a large detached house in the Cardiff suburb of Lisvane. It is set in 5 acres of grounds and is 10,000sq ft in size.It was built by the builder James E. Turner as his personal residence in 1906 in the Jacobethan style. Turner was the senior partner of the Cardiff building firm E. Turner and Sons. The company built much of the Cathays Park civic centre of Cardiff. The house is constructed of Portland stone; with interior furnishings of wainscot panelling made from Austrian oak. A one-storey extension to the rear of the main house has gothic detailing and dates from 1932. It is Grade II listed. The house was illustrated in the 1929 pamphlet Superb Buildings which depicted E. Turner and Sons' projects in Cardiff. The house has been listed Grade II since September 2002. Its gardens are designated Grade II* on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.On 2 and 3 July 1908 a garden fête was held at Ty Gwyn to raise funds for the construction of the Baptist Chapel at Llanishen. The fete was opened by the Liberal MP Alfred Thomas. Entertainment was provided by the artistes of Clara Novello Davies, the Llanishen Brass Band and the Capel Gwilym Choir. The house was purchased by the shipping merchant Doug Smith, of the Reardon Smith Shipping Company in 1937. To survey his ships in the Bristol Channel, Smith constructed an octagonal room on the roof of Ty Gwyn.Ty Gwyn was bought by the banker and financier Julian Hodge in 1961. It was the site of his charitable foundation, that was named for his mother, Jane.In 2014 Ty Gwyn was put up for sale for the first time in 50 years, with an asking price of £3 million. It was sold in November 2017 for £2 million. A dayroom, cinema, gym and a garage for four cars was added to the house by Davis Sutton Architects following its sale in 2015. A new entrance to the house was created after the separation of the coach house and gate lodge. The coach house of Ty Gwyn was developed as a private residence in the 2010s. It is believed to have the first vehicle inspection pit in Wales. It has a datestone of 1905 and decorative tiles on the external walls.

Cyncoed Methodist Church is a listed place of worship in the suburb of Cyncoed in Cardiff, Wales. Organisationally, it is in the East cluster of the Cardiff Methodist Circuit.The church was built in 1966 and was designed by Alex Gordon, who was to become a prominent architect in south Wales. The building is in the International Modern style that was pioneered by Mies van der Rohe, and is a rectilinear design in glass and buff-coloured brick. The foundation stone was laid on 20 November 1965, and the church was dedicated the following September. A large extension was built to the rear of the church in 1992. The church gained listed status in 2001, with the listing giving as a reason: As an individually accomplished design, Cyncoed Methodist Church helps to define the architectural standard for post-war religious buildings in Wales.

Llanishen railway station (Welsh: Llanisien) is a railway station serving the area of Llanishen in Cardiff, south Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network.

Cardiff High School (Welsh: Ysgol Uwchradd Caerdydd) is a comprehensive school in the Cyncoed area of Cardiff, Wales. Stephen Jones has been Headteacher since 2011. It has been rated as Excellent for current performance and Excellent for prospects for improvement by Estyn (2013) the school achieved its highest ever results in 2016 with 92% of students achieving Level 2+ (5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics) and a 100% achieving at least 5 GCSEs.

The school is co-educational and accepts children aged 11–16. Corpus Christi has traditionally performed well, with consistently good and above-average performance shown during inspections.

Heath Low Level railway station is one of two railway stations serving Heath, Cardiff, Wales. The station is located on the Coryton Line 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north of Cardiff Central. Heath Low Level was opened by the Cardiff Railway in 1911. When it was opened, it was called Heath Halt station. The station has one platform with a wheelchair accessible entrance from a minor residential road. On the platform is a brick built waiting shelter and open aired benches. The station is unmanned. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales as part of the Valley Lines network.

Llanishen (Welsh Llanisien llan church + Isien Saint Isan) is a district and community in the north of Cardiff, Wales. Its population as of the 2011 census was 17,417. Llanishen is the home of the former HMRC tax offices, the tallest buildings in north Cardiff and a landmark for miles around. The office complex overlooks the Crystal and Fishguard estates, the Parc Tŷ Glas industrial estate, Llanishen village, leafy suburban roads and parks that constitute the district. Llanishen is also home to a leisure centre and the former 60-acre (24 ha) Llanishen Reservoir, which is connected to a green corridor which bisects the city.

Lisvane and Thornhill railway station (Welsh: Llys-faen a Draenen Pen-y-Graig) is a railway station serving the Lisvane and Thornhill areas of north Cardiff, Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network. This station replaced Cefn Onn Halt railway station, which was closed in 1986.

Cardiff Met WFC is a women's football club based in Cardiff, Wales. It is the student team of Cardiff Metropolitan University. The club is one of the most successful Women's Welsh Premier League team after winning the title five times (2011–12, 2014–15, 2015–16, 2017–18 and 2018–19) and qualifying multiple times for the UEFA Women's Champions League. The team was named UWIC Ladies until they changed their team name to Cardiff Met. Ladies AFC after the 2011–12 season. They then renamed from Ladies to Womens ahead of the 2018/19 season.
