McClellan Air Force Base

Sacramento McClellan Airport (IATA: MCC, ICAO: KMCC, FAA LID: MCC) is a privately owned public-use airport located six miles (10 km) northeast of the central business district of Sacramento (a city in Sacramento County, California, United States).The airport is on the former site of McClellan Air Force Base, which existed as a military base from 1939 to 2000. It was transferred to Sacramento County in 2000, as part of its conversion into McClellan Business Park, and was purchased by McClellan Business Park in October 2017. The airport is a public-use facility which operates as an uncontrolled airfield in what the FAA designates as Class "E" Airspace. The airport is mainly used for general aviation. Current airport tenants include Calstar, the California Department of Forestry, United States Coast Guard, Air Station Sacramento, Dassault Falcon, United States Forest Service, PODS, and the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. All ground handling and fueling is completed by McClellan Jet Services, a subsidiary of McClellan Business Park.

McClellan Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sacramento County, California. McClellan Park sits at an elevation of 69 feet (21 m). The 2010 United States Census reported that McClellan Park's population was 743. It is the site of the former McClellan Air Force Base, closed by the federal government in 2003. McClellan Air Force Base (currently McClellan Park) was named in honor of test pilot Hezekiah McClellan. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP covers an area of 4.1 square miles (10.5 km2), all of it land. Its closest neighbor is North Highlands.

The CAL FIRE Aviation Management Program is a branch of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (known also as CAL FIRE). Due to the frequency and severity of wildfires in California, the state has elected to establish its own aerial firefighting force rather than rely solely on national resources. The Aviation Management Program is based at McClellan Airfield near Sacramento, California.

The Aerospace Museum of California is a private non-profit aviation museum located in North Highlands, California, outside of Sacramento, California, on the grounds of the former McClellan Air Force Base. The museum has a 4.5-acre outdoor Air Park, indoor exhibit space, a classroom, theater, conference room, and gift shop. Featured displays include: authentic military and civilian aircraft, rockets, historic World War II artifacts, objects from the Apollo missions, and an extensive collection of piston and jet engines. The museum preserves the history of the former base while supporting current STEM educational standards through its programming and exhibits.

Sacramento Air Logistics Center is a former United States Air Force unit based at McClellan Air Force Base from 1935 until its closure as part of the 1995 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.

Community Outreach Academy Elementary is a Charter Elementary School located in McClellan Park, California, United States. Community Outreach Academy was founded in 2004 with one class per grade level.. Since then, the school has grown tremendously. There were over 1200 students enrolled in the 2014–2015 school year. The school serves the Sacramento area's Slavic Community with 98% of their enrolled students coming from countries of the former Soviet Union. The school is very popular among the Slavic Community because it offers Russian Language classes as part of their Core curriculum. Every year there is a waiting list to get into the school, with the district providing a "lottery" to allow a fair way for students to enroll. The school is WASC (Western Area Schools and Colleges) accredited. WASC is the most difficult accreditation to receive. All of the teachers at COA are state credentialed and certificated. COA Elementary employs over 130 people, about 50% of which are also of the Slavic community. All staff members are held accountable for the success of every student. They employ a lot of Para Educators for Enrichment Blocks in their classes to provide a well-rounded education for all students. COA Elementary relies heavily on Parent Volunteers. All parents are required to volunteer 12 hours every school year. There is a large focus on families at COA, they often have workshops for parents to be involved in to encourage involvement in their students' education. This also helps those families who struggle with the English language.

Twin Rivers Adult School is a California Adult School part of the Twin Rivers Unified School District. It primarily serves the North Highlands, Del Paso Heights and North Sacramento regions. Twin Rivers Adult School was formerly named Grant Adult Education when it was part of the Grant Joint Union High School District. With the Passage of Measure B, several school districts merged into one. With the change in districts, Grant Adult Education was renamed to Twin Rivers Adult School. Twin Rivers Adult School is postsecondary accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, a member of the California State Consortium for Adult Education, and a member of the California Council for Adult Education.

Rancho Del Paso was a 44,371-acre (179.56 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Sacramento County, California, In 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena, Captain John Sutter’s old friend, gave 44,000 acres to Elijah Grimes. Grimes called it the Rancho del Paso because it was on the road to the pass of the American River through the Sierra. . The grant extended along the north bank of the American River and was bounded roughly by today’s Northgate Boulevard, Manzanita Avenue, and Elkhorn Boulevard. The grant encompassed present-day North Sacramento, Del Paso Heights, Rio Linda, Arden-Arcade, and a portion of Carmichael.

Watt/I-80 West station is an at-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the Sacramento RT Light Rail system operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The station is located in the median of Interstate 80 west of its intersection of Watt Avenue, after which the station is named, in the community of North Highlands, California, United States. The station along with a 248 space park and ride lot, reused a partially built, but later abandoned freeway project.

North Highlands is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 42,694 at the 2010 census, down from 44,187 at the 2000 census.

Watt/I-80 station is a below-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the Sacramento RT Light Rail system operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The station is located in the median of Interstate 80 at its intersection of Watt Avenue, after which the station is named, in the community of North Highlands, California, United States. Watt/I-80 station was the original northern terminus of the RT Light Rail system and it remains the northern terminus of today's Blue Line. The station has had issues with broken elevators, poor signage, poor cleanliness, and safety. A study proposed closing the elevator on the east side of the station, building new stairs and elevators on west side, and moving many bus transfers to the Roseville Road station. The proposals are opposed by transit advocates.The station, along with a bus transfer platform and a 243 space park and ride lot, reused a partially built, but later abandoned freeway project. The park and ride lot is poorly utilized, with an average of just six cars. A study blamed the poor utilization on long walk between the lot and the station, safety concerns at the station, and the Roseville Road station's superior design for passengers arriving by car.

Roseville Road station is an at-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the Sacramento RT Light Rail system operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The station is located in the median of Interstate 80 at its intersection with Roseville Road, after which the station is named, in the city of Sacramento, California, United States, close to the southern edge of the community of North Highlands. The station, along with a 1,087 space park and ride lot, reused a partially built, but later abandoned freeway project. Many commuters who drive to light rail, even those who live closer to the Watt/I-80 stations, use the Roseville Road station since it has a large, reasonably well-patrolled parking lot, and is easier to reach by car.The station has no functional pedestrian access, with a 2018 report finding "no sidewalks within a half mile of the platform."
