Cricket Hill Brewery is a brewery in Fairfield, New Jersey, USA. Founded in 2000 and opening to the public in 2002 with their flagship beers: East Coast Lager and American Ale. They currently produce Colonel Blide's Bitter and Hopnotic IPA and seasonals, Jersey Summer Breakfast Ale, Fall Festivus, Paymasters Porter, and Maibock. Rick Reed, founder of the New Jersey Beer Rebellion, is the head brewer and CEO. Brad Benson was the company's first brewer, followed by Norbert Walsh and current brewer David Manka, both American Brewers Guild graduates. Cricket Hill actively practices Reinheitsgebot, the Germany beer brewing purity restrictions, and it is known for cask-aging beer.

Fairfield Dutch Reformed Church is a historic church on Fairfield Road in Fairfield Township, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The congregation was established in 1720 by Dutch settlers. The building dates to 1804 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Essex County Airport (IATA: CDW, ICAO: KCDW, FAA LID: CDW), informally known as Caldwell Airport, is a public use airport located in Fairfield Township, Essex County, New Jersey, two nautical miles (4 km) north of the central business district of Caldwell, a borough of northwestern Essex County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is owned by the Essex County Improvement Authority. This facility is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation reliever airport.

Fairfield is a township in far northwestern Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 7,872, an increase of 406 (+5.4%) from the 2010 census count of 7,466, which in turn reflected an increase of 403 (+5.7%) from the 7,063 counted in the 2000 census. Fairfield was the least densely populated town in Essex County in 2020.The first Europeans to settle in the area were Dutch and the place was called Gansegat. Later it was part of Horse Neck and officially part of Newark Township. What is now Fairfield was formed on February 16, 1798, as Caldwell Township from portions of Acquackanonk Township and Newark Township. The area was named for Rev. James Caldwell. It was incorporated as one of New Jersey's initial 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. Portions of the township were taken to create Livingston (February 8, 1813), Fairmount Township (March 11, 1862, now part of West Orange), Caldwell borough (February 10, 1892), Verona Township (February 17, 1892, now known and including what is now Cedar Grove), North Caldwell (March 31, 1898), Essex Fells (March 31, 1902) and West Caldwell (February 24, 1904). On November 6, 1963, Caldwell Township was renamed as Fairfield Township, based on the results of a referendum passed the previous day. Fairfield was reincorporated as borough on June 8, 1964. In 1978, the borough passed a referendum reincorporating itself as a township, becoming the second of more than a dozen Essex County municipalities to reclassify themselves as townships in order take advantage of federal revenue sharing policies that allocated townships a greater share of government aid to municipalities on a per capita basis.

The West Essex Regional School District is a regional public school district serving students in seventh through twelfth grade from Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell and Roseland, four municipalities in western Essex County, New Jersey, United States. These four suburban residential communities located approximately 25 miles (40 km) from New York City have a combined population of approximately 23,000 people and cover an area of 18 square miles (47 km2). As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprised of two schools, had an enrollment of 1,716 students and 151.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.3:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. West Essex High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in North Caldwell. The high school is part of the West Essex Regional School District, which comprises the constituent municipalities of Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell and Roseland, four municipalities in western Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The constituent municipalities are largely filled with single-family homes and populated by individuals with high socioeconomic characteristics.The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1964. Block scheduling was implemented for the 2014-2015 school year. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,048 students and 102.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.2:1. There were 28 students (2.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 10 (1.0% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Great Piece Meadows is a 7,100-acre (29 km2) fresh water swamp located in the towns of Lincoln Park, Montville, and Fairfield in New Jersey. The wooded swamp is mostly inside the bow of the Passaic River which floods during the year from heavy rain or heavy snow melt. The meadows are part of the Northeastern coastal forests ecoregion.

West Caldwell is a township located in the West Essex area in northwestern Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is located approximately 16 miles (26 km) west of Manhattan and 6 miles (9.7 km) northwest of Newark. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 11,012, an increase of 253 (+2.4%) from the 2010 census count of 10,759, which in turn reflected a decline of 474 (−4.2%) from the 11,233 counted in the 2000 census.West Caldwell was originally incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 24, 1904, from portions of Caldwell Township (now known as Fairfield Township). The Van Ness House, also known as the Peter Van Ness Farmhouse, is located at 236 Little Falls Road in the township of Fairfield in Essex County, New Jersey. The house was built about 1740. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1939. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 29, 1977, for its significance in agriculture and architecture.

Willowbrook Mall is a one-level shopping center with a partial second floor located in Wayne, New Jersey, United States. It is near the intersection of New Jersey Route 23, U.S. Route 46, and Interstate 80 in the New York metropolitan area and is situated close to both Essex and Morris counties near the Passaic River. The mall features more than 165 retail establishments and a leasab le area of 1,518,006 square feet (141,027.4 m2).It is the fifth-largest shopping mall in New Jersey. The mall opened in 1969 and was expanded or renovated in 1970, 1988, 2006, and 2015. The mall features Macy's, Bloomingdale's, in addition to a BJ's Wholesale Club and a 14-screen AMC Theatres. With blue laws in effect in neighboring Bergen County and Paramus, Willowbrook Mall has benefited from the spillover of shoppers on Sunday. The mall and its surrounding access roads and parking areas are prone to flooding in rainstorms. The Passaic River flows near the mall and one of its tributaries, and the Pompton River, runs behind it.
