Marple, Greater Manchester

Old Manor Farm is a 15th-century hall in Marple, Stockport, historically in Cheshire, now within Greater Manchester, England (grid reference SJ945885). Built in the 15th century, it has had additions made in the 16th, 17th and 20th centuries. Called "one of the finest existing examples of a small medieval manor house in Lancashire or Cheshire", it is a Grade II* listed building.Marple has five nationally important buildings, listed by English Heritage as either Grade I or Grade II. One of these is Old Manor Farm, tucked away above the Marple Brook which runs in the valley near Dan Bank. Described by Pevsner as "a small medieval manor house, the central part timber-framed, probably 15th century, with a two-bay hall of cruck construction. Later wings were added, the service wing of stone, the other half-timber." Its importance was recognised in 1951 when it was featured in Cheshire Life magazine as one of the "Homes of Cheshire".

Rose Hill Marple railway station

Rose Hill Marple railway station is in Marple in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, England. The station, which opened in 1869, is the last surviving stop on the former Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway (MB&MR). It is connected via a short branch to the Hope Valley Line. The original line to Macclesfield closed in January 1970, leaving Rose Hill Marple as the terminus of the route. Daily services run to Manchester Piccadilly, via the Hyde loop; there is no service on Sundays. The station provides access to the Middlewood Way, which follows the preserved route of the disused MB&MR.

Harrytown Hall

Harrytown Hall is a former manor house in Bredbury, Stockport, England. The first hall was built in the 15th century by Harry Bruckshaw. In 1671, it was demolished and rebuilt by John Bruckshaw. John's initials were carved along with his wife's, Sarah, over the front door along with the year. The hall was built in a Gothic style, and it remains well-preserved.For many years the Bruckshaw's owned the estate, and later the Fosters and the Waltons, but in 1913 the hall became a convent school. In 1978, the school moved to new premises and became Harrytown Catholic High School. The building is now flats.
