The Harbour of Eleutherios (Medieval Greek: λιμήν Ἐλευθερίου), originally known as the Harbour of Theodosius (Latin: Portus Theodosiacus, Ancient Greek: λιμήν Θεοδοσίου) was one of the ports of ancient Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, located beneath the modern Yenikapi neighbourhood of Istanbul, Turkey. It was built at the mouth of the Lycus watercourse that ran through the city to the Propontis (the Sea of Marmara).The harbour was built in the late 4th century, during the reign of Theodosius I, and was the city's major point of trade in Late Antiquity. It continued to be used until the 11th century. Silt from the Lycus creek eventually filled the harbour entirely and the area was later transformed for agricultural use due to the effects of upstream erosion and deposition. In Ottoman times, the area was built over. The harbour was located on the south side of the peninsula on which the city is built, on the shore of the Sea of Marmara. The other harbours on the southern coast of the city were the Harbour of Julian and the small harbour of the Boukoleon Palace. The harbours of Neorion (Latin: Neorium) and Prosphorion (Ancient Greek: προσφόριον, lit. 'import harbour', Latin: Portus Prosphorianus) were on the Golden Horn, on the northern shore of the peninsula. Today the northern coast of the harbour is delineated by Kucuk Langa Cad. (Small Langa St.) named after the earlier Greek Vlanga name. In November 2005, workers on the Bosphorus Tunnel Project discovered the silted-up remains of the harbour. Excavations produced evidence of the 4th-century Portus Theodosiacus. There, archaeologists uncovered traces of the city wall of Constantine the Great, and the remains of over 35 Byzantine ships from the 7th to 10th centuries, including several Byzantine galleys, remains of which had never before been found. In addition, the excavation has uncovered the oldest evidence of settlement in Constantinople, with artefacts, including amphorae, pottery fragments, shells, pieces of bone, horse skulls, and nine human skulls found in a bag, dating back to 6000 BC.

Yenikapı is an indefinitely closed railway station on the İstanbul-Halkalı Line in the Yenikapı neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey. The station was built in 1872 by the Oriental Railway which was then taken over by the Turkish State Railways in 1937 and electrified in 1955. The station is situated near the south end of the busy Gazi Mustafa Kemal Paşa Boulevard and one block north of Kennedy St, two major inner-city roadways and is 4.8 km (3.0 mi) west of Sirkeci Terminal. Due to the rehabilitation of the line between Halkalı and Kazlıçeşme for future Marmaray commuter service, Yenikapı was indefinitely closed on 19 March 2013. On 29 October 2013, the new underground Yenikapı railway station, which makes up a part of the new Yenikapı Transfer Center, was opened along with the trans-Bosphorus Marmaray tunnel. The new Yenikapı complex is located right next to the existing railway station and is serviced by 3 lines of the Istanbul Metro.

Yenikapı Transfer Center (Turkish: Yenikapı Aktarma Merkezi), referred to as Yenikapı, is an underground transportation complex in Istanbul. It is located in south-central Fatih in the neighborhood of Yenikapı, hence the name of the hub. The complex is right next to the, indefinitely closed, Yenikapı railway station and a short walk away from the Yenikapı Ferry Terminal and İDO ferry service. Yenikapı complex links two stations of Istanbul Metro to a railway station of the Turkish State Railways on the trans-Bosphorus Marmaray tunnel. Yenikapı is the largest rapid transit station in Turkey.

The Yenikapı Ferry Terminal (Turkish: Yenikapı Feribot Terminali) or Yenikapı Pier (Turkish: Yenikapı İskelesi) is a ferry terminal in Fatih, Istanbul, located along Kennedy Avenue on the Marmara Sea. It is used by İDO as a hub and is the largest ferry terminal in Istanbul. İDO operates several ferry routes from Yenikapı to destinations within Istanbul as well as across the Marmara Sea.The terminal opened in 1989, when İDO began operating ferry service within Istanbul, and was expanded in the mid-2000s. The terminal is located in south-central Fatih, within the Nişanca neighborhood, on the city's historic peninsula. Connections to the Istanbul Metro and Marmaray commuter rail service is available at the Yenikapı Transfer Center, which opened in 2013.

The Bulgur Palas, originally known as the Bolulu Habip Bey Mansion, is a 1912-built historical mansion located in Istanbul in Turkey. After its acquisition by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 2021, it was restored and redeveloped into a library and cultural center for public use.

Cerrapaşa railway station (Turkish: Cerrapaşa istasyonu) is a railway station on the Istanbul-Pythion railway in Istanbul, Turkey. Opened together with the T6 shuttle line from Kazlıçeşme to Sirkeci on 26 February 2024, Cerrapaşa is the most recently opened railway station in Istanbul. Built on the originally double-track right-of-way, the station has one side platform with one track. The pedestrian path just south of the track was the former right-of-way of the second track, which closed down in 2013.

Bodrum Mosque (Turkish: Bodrum Camii, or Mesih Paşa Camii named after its converter) in Istanbul, Turkey, is a former Eastern Orthodox church converted into a mosque by the Ottomans. The church was known under the Greek name of Myrelaion (Greek: Eκκλησία του Μυρελαίου).

The Murat Paşa Mosque (Turkish: Murat Paşa Camii) is a 15th century Ottoman mosque squeezed in between two busy roads linking Aksaray and Yusufpaşa in the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey.

Aksaray (literally "White Palace" in Turkish) is a neighborhood in the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is so named because it was founded by migrants from Aksaray in central Turkey, deported here in the 15th century by Mehmet II to repopulate the city after the its conquest.Aksaray is a largely modern neghbourhood centred on a busy square. It has a large population of migrants from the southeast of the country and many restaurants serve the cuisine of Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır and Hatay. More recently it has also acquired a large population of Syrian refugees who have introduced their own cuisine to the mix. There are many shops and hotels here. To the east, Aksaray borders the textile-retailing neighborhood of Laleli while to the west, along Millet Caddesi, lies Çapa. To the south is Yenikapı and to the north Fatih. Busy Vatan Caddesi (AKA Adnan Menderes Bulvarı) runs northwest from Aksaray towards the City Walls, following the route of the lost Lycos river.

The Forum of Arcadius (Latin: Forum Arcadii, Greek: Φόρος τοῦ Ἀρκαδίου), was built by the Emperor Arcadius in the city of Constantinople, now Istanbul. Built in 403, it was built in the Xerolophos area and was the last forum before reaching the Constantinian city walls and the Golden Gate in a line of forums, including the Forum of Theodosius, the Forum of Constantine, the Forum Bovis, and the Forum Amastrianum, built westward from the city center along the Mese.The forum was later converted to a bazaar by the Ottomans, referred to as the Avrat Pazarı or "Women's Bazaar", which was mistaken with the Slave Market at Tavukpazari near Nur-u Osmaniye used for the auctioning of female slaves, otherwise known as 'Cariye', which technically during the period had a completely different social status than regular slaves. This practice was abolished in 1847 during Reshid Pasha's time possibly due to the British influence Slavery Abolition Act 1833. The Column of Arcadius, located in the center of the forum, was decorated with spiral bands of sculpture in bas relief representing the triumphs of the emperor, like Trajan's Column in Rome. At the top of the column, which was more than 50m high, there was an enormous Corinthian capital surmounted by an equestrian statue of Arcadius, placed there in 421 by his son, Theodosius II. This statue was eventually toppled from the column and destroyed during an earthquake in 704. The column itself remained standing for another thousand years until it was deliberately demolished in 1715, when it appeared to be in imminent danger of collapsing on the neighboring houses. Now all that remains are the mutilated base and some fragments of sculpture from the column which are on display in the Istanbul Archaeological Museum.

The column of Arcadius (Turkish: Arkadyos Sütunu or Avrat Taşı) was a Roman triumphal column in the forum of Arcadius in Constantinople built in the early 5th century AD. The marble column was historiated with a spiralling frieze of reliefs on its shaft and supported a colossal statue of the emperor, probably made of bronze, which fell down in 740. Its summit was accessible by an internal spiral staircase. Only its massive masonry base survives. It is known as the Avret Taş in Turkish and located on Haseki Kadın Sokak in the Fatih district of Istanbul. It is now mostly surrounded by modern buildings.

The Forum of the Ox (Latin: Forum Bovis, Greek: ὁ Bοῦς, meaning "the Ox") was a public square (Latin: Forum) in the city of Constantinople (today's Istanbul). Used also a place for public executions and torture, it disappeared completely after the end of the Byzantine Empire.
