Alabama Army Ammunition Plant

Kymulga Mill & Covered Bridge are two locally owned historic landmarks located at Kymulga Park in Talladega County, Alabama, United States. The park is on Grist Mill Road (CR 46) off State Route 76 about 4 miles (6.4 kilometers) northeast of the city of Childersburg. Both structures, dating back to the American Civil War, were restored in 1974 and were listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1976. The Childersburg Heritage Committee purchased the tract in 1988, and with help from the Alabama Historical Commission and the Talladega County Commission, established Kymulga Park. More structural renovations were made as well. There is an admission charge to visit the park, with proceeds being used for upkeep of all structures and nature trails within this historic recreation area. Kymulga Park was acquired by the City of Childersburg in June 2011. It is currently managed by the Childersburg Historic Preservation Commission.

Majestic Caverns (formerly known as DeSoto Caverns) is a series of caves and a tourist attraction located in Childersburg, Talladega County, Alabama. Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, it is touted as "Alabama's Big Cave". In addition to the caves, the park offers various other attractions, including a three-quarter acre maze known as the Lost Trail Maze, panning for gemstones, a climbing wall, and amusement park style rides. While on the caverns tour, visitors can view a sound, light, and water show that changes with the holidays and seasons. Before being commercialized as DeSoto Caverns, the cave was well known locally as Kymulga Cave. There is evidence that the cave was formerly used by Native Americans, and it was mined during the Civil War. In June of 2022, the park announced that "DeSoto Caverns" as it had been known for many years would be renamed "Majestic Caverns."

Laniers, also known as Laniersville, is an unincorporated community in Talladega County, Alabama, United States.

Childersburg is a city in Talladega County in the U.S. state of Alabama. It was incorporated in 1889. At the 2020 census, the population was 4,754. It has a history dating back before 1540, when it was noted as a village of the Coosa Nation visited by the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto. It is said a member of De Soto’s crew fell ill and was left to settle in the area of present day Childersburg where the Coosa people cared for the ill explorer. The Alabama Army Ammunition Plant, important during World War II, was located 4 miles (6 km) north of Childersburg.

Bon Air is a town in Talladega County, Alabama, United States. It incorporated in 1932. At the 2010 census the population was 116, up from 96 in 2000.

The Old Rock House is a historic house in Harpersville, Alabama. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 29, 2006. It is located 1 mile southeast of Harpersville at the end of a farm lane on the northern side of U.S. Route 280. The house is built of local grey granite and limestone. The house was previously listed on the Historic American Buildings Survey. The Old Rock House is the only surviving example of an early stone dwelling in Alabama.

Arkwright was an unincorporated community in Shelby County, Alabama, United States. The community lies near the banks of the Coosa River and is now within the city limits of Vincent. Arkwright was founded in 1907 and was named for Preston Stanley Arkwright, who served as founder and president of Georgia Railway and Power Company and as an official with the Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic Railway. At one point, the community was home to a railroad station, post office, bank, cotton gin, gristmill, general store, furniture store, and school. The post office was in operation from 1909 to 1926. In 1924, the railroad company raised the railroad bed, eliminating the need for a depot. The population soon began to decline and the post office was closed shortly afterwards. The Arkwright Baptist Church and Arkwright Heritage Area, which includes multiple structures and cemeteries, were added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 2011.

Harpersville is a town in Shelby County, Alabama, United States. According to the 1950 U.S. Census, it formally incorporated in 1943. At the 2020 census the population was 1,614, compared to 1,637 in 2010 and 1,620 in 2000. It is located southeast of the Birmingham metro area.

Alpine is an unincorporated community in Talladega County, Alabama, United States, located southwest of Talladega and northwest of Childersburg. It is known to Alabama residents as the site of YMCA Camp Cosby. The community gained its name from Alpine, a plantation owned by the Welch family. Over time, a town grew up around the plantation when a railroad came through. Initially known as Welchs Depot, it eventually came to be known as Alpine, in honor of the plantation.

Alpine is a historic plantation house in Alpine, Alabama, United States. Completed in 1858, the two-story Greek Revival-style house was built for Nathaniel Welch by a master builder, Almarion Devalco Bell. The wood-frame house has several unusual features that make it one of the more architecturally interesting antebellum houses in the state. These features include the foundation materials, interior floor-plan, and the window fenestration.

Morgan Creek Vineyards is a winery in Harpersville, Alabama, United States. Regionally well-known, it is one of eleven wineries in the state. Founded in 2000 on an initial 30 acres (12 ha), it began with a production of 600 cases (7200 bottles), that sold in 6 stores. In 2009, the winery produced 15,000 cases, selling in 400 stores across Alabama and Mississippi, and expanded its acreage by 85 acres (34 ha). It is run by Brammer family.Morgan Creek produces "Southern wines such as muscadine, blueberry and apple," and a red wine called "Vulcan Red," named for the Vulcan statue in nearby Birmingham. Its wine was included on the list of "100 Things to Eat in Alabama Before You Die."As a member of the Alabama Wineries and Grape Growers Association, Morgan Creek has been actively involved in efforts to relax some restrictions on wineries in Alabama, to better conform with laws in the rest of the United States. In 2010, it favored the passage of Alabama House Bill 637 and Alabama Senate Bill 556, collectively known as the Alabama Small Winery Business Viability Act, in the Alabama legislature. The act, if passed, would require Alabama wineries to conform with Federal winery laws, define what a small winery is, and address business issues related to wineries.
