Parkland County

Stony Plain, originally named Stonyplain, was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1905 to 2019. The district returned a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta throughout its history, using the first past the post method of voting for most of its existence but single transferable vote from 1926 to 1957. The district was created in 1905 when Alberta became a province. The riding in its original boundaries stretched from the west Edmonton city limits to the British Columbia border, but over time it was significantly reduced in size. The riding was named Stonyplain from 1905 to 1909 before being changed to Stony Plain.

Stony Plain is a town in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada that is surrounded by Parkland County. It is west of Edmonton adjacent to the City of Spruce Grove and sits on Treaty 6 land. Stony Plain is known for its many painted murals representing various periods, events and people throughout the town's history. The town was originally known as Dog Rump Creek.

WestView Health Centre is a medical facility with a 24-hour emergency department located in Stony Plain, Alberta that is operated by Alberta Health Services. It is a 68-bed facility and features hospice care within its continuing care unit.

Memorial Composite High School is located in Stony Plain, Alberta and is part of the Parkland School Division (Parkland School District no. 70). Serving grades 10-12, the student body consists of approximately 1300 students. Of that, approximately 100 are enrolled in the school's Outreach program. There are 52 teachers with an additional 24 support staff currently employed.The School moved to the newly renovated (40+ million dollar renovation) former NAIT Westerra Campus in February 2010. This move was to address the concerns of safety with the original school built in 1949.

It is located on the west side of Range Road 275, 1.6 km (0.99 mi) south of Highway 628. It is adjacent to the Town of Stony Plain to the northwest and the designated place of Garden Grove Estates to the southeast.

Garden Grove Estates is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Parkland County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the east side of Range Road 275, 2.4 km (1.5 mi) south of Highway 628. It is adjacent to the designated places of Green Acre Estates to the north and Peterburn Estates to the northwest.

Weslake Estates is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Parkland County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the west side of Range Road 13, 0.7 km (0.43 mi) south of Highway 16A. Prior to 2021, Statistics Canada referred to Weslake Estates as Westlake Estates.

Green Acre Estates is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Parkland County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the west side of Range Road 274, 1.6 km (0.99 mi) south of Highway 628. It is adjacent to the Town of Stony Plain to the northwest and the designated place of Garden Grove Estates to the south.
