Anderson Park (New Jersey)

Verona Park is a park located in Verona, as part of the Essex County Park System, New Jersey. It is a 54.32-acre (219,800 m2) park with a lake bordered by Lakeside and Bloomfield Avenues in the southern part of Verona. This is the fifth largest park within the system.

Verona is a township in Essex County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 14,572, an increase of 1,240 (+9.3%) from the 2010 census count of 13,332, which in turn reflected a decline of 201 (−1.5%) from the 13,533 counted in the 2000 census.

Verona station was a station on the Caldwell Branch of the Erie Railroad in Verona, New Jersey. The station was originally constructed in 1891 at the intersection of Depot Street and Personette Street by the Caldwell Railway, which was soon merged into the Erie Railroad system. The station burned down twice: the 1891 station depot burned down in 1905, and the second station survived until April 1, 1962, when arsonists destroyed it. However, the freight station built in 1891, a one-room shed, remained standing between both burnings, and although passenger service on the Caldwell Branch ended on October 3, 1966 (and the tracks removed in 1979), the freight station in Verona is the only remaining structure left of the entire line. In 2010, the town of Verona proposed to restore the old freight shed, which stands along the right-of-way as a one-room museum. Also that year, the shed was added as the first of Verona's local landmarks by its historical commission.

The Hilltop Reservation is a nature preserve located in Essex County, New Jersey, in the host communities of Caldwell, Cedar Grove, North Caldwell and Verona. It has over 200 acres (0.81 km2), and is the most recent addition to the Essex County Park System. It is composed of lands formerly occupied by the Essex Mountain Sanatorium, a hospital center originally constructed in the early 1900s to treat tuberculosis patients. Hilltop Reservation is located on the Second Watchung Mountain, one of three Watchung Mountains which are long, low ridges of volcanic origin in northern New Jersey.

The Verona Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Verona, in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The Verona Public Schools (VPS) consist of six campuses: four neighborhood elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of six schools, had an enrollment of 2,211 students and 182.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.1:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.The schools provide students with a liberal education that meets and exceeds the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. With nearly 95% of Verona's graduates pursuing a college education, most curricular offerings are oriented to college preparation. Vocational programs and transitional services are offered through the schools of the Essex County Vocational Technical Schools for those planning on heading directly to the working world. The schools offer special education programs to support students with learning disabilities including one of the state's model pre-school intervention programs.

The Essex County Schools of Technology (formerly known as Essex County Vocational Technical Schools) is a regional public school district headquartered in Newark that offers occupational and academic instruction for public high school and adult students in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. Founded in 1914, the district is one of the state's largest and oldest vocational education system.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of three schools, had an enrollment of 2,340 students and 181.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.9:1.All high schools provide academic and occupational programs for ninth through twelfth grades, offering both full and shared time to both general education and special needs students. It has been announced by ECVTS the opening of the newly constructed Donald M. Payne Sr. School of Technology in Newark, NJ will be in September 2018. The newly built school will serve as the home of current students from Bloomfield Tech and North 13th Street as ECVTS will close both sites.

Verona High School is a four-year comprehensive community public high school, serving students in ninth through twelfth grade in Verona, in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Verona Public Schools. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1947.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 642 students and 54.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1. There were 6 students (0.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.The school mascot is the Verona Hillbilly, which reflected the remote, rural nature of the community. It was originally created in the 1950s and pictured with a bottle of moonshine and a shotgun. The mascot later was redesigned with a dog and a fishing pole due to concerns of school violence and under-age drinking.

For 60 years Spectrum360’s schools and programs have provided education, socialization and therapeutic support for the individuals it serves.

Eagle Rock Reservation is a 408.33-acre (165.25 ha) forest reserve and recreational park in the First Watchung Mountain of New Jersey (U.S.), located in the communities of West Orange, Montclair, and Verona. The land is owned and administered by the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. The reservation is named after the Eagle Rock, a bare rock looking down from the mountain, which marks the boundary between the towns of Montclair and West Orange, New Jersey. The Lenape Trail passes through the reservation. There are many streams that flow throughout the reservation. The forests are home to abundant wildlife, including deer and occasionally bears. Also located on the grounds of the reservation is a restaurant and special event location called Highlawn Pavilion. The building was once a casino, in the old sense of the word meaning country house, which had various functions through the years, including as a place for refreshments.

Casa Deldra, also known as the Anderson House, is located in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The house was designed by architect A.F. Norris and it was built in 1912. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Hotel Montclair, also known as The Montclair was a hotel located in Montclair, New Jersey. It opened in 1907 and closed in 1938.

Eastward, also known as the ALLCORN House, is located in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1902 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 1, 1988. It was designed by architect A.F. Norris. The house was featured in Scientific American building edition.
