Okayama Prefecture

The Hayashibara Museum of Art (林原美術館, Hayashibara Bijutsukan) is an art museum owned by the Hayashibara Group, and located at 2-7-15 Marunouchi, Kita-ku, Okayama, Japan. It is on the site of a former guesthouse beside the inner moat of Okayama Castle. Its 6,832 square meter interior was designed by Kunio Maekawa. The owner of the collection was Ichiro Hayashibara, and the museum was opened in 1964, to honor his final wishes to display his collection to the public after his death. The museum owns approximately 10,000 artifacts from Hayashibara's personal collection, including swords, armor, and pottery collected by Mr. Hayashibara, and Noh costumes, furniture, paintings, and Japanese lacquer from the Ikeda clan. The museum itself has limited space, so exhibits are rotated four to five times per year.

RSK Sanyo Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (RSK山陽放送株式会社, Āruesukē San'yō Hōsō Kabushikigaisha) is a Japanese television and radio broadcaster in Okayama and Kagawa. The abbreviation, RSK originates in the former name in Japanese (Radio San'yō Kabushikigaisha, ラジオ山陽株式会社). It is affiliated with Japan Radio Network (JRN), National Radio Network (NRN), and Japan News Network (JNN).

Okayama Castle (岡山城, Okayama-jō) is a Japanese castle in the city of Okayama in Okayama Prefecture in Japan. The main tower was completed in 1597, destroyed in 1945 and replicated in concrete in 1966. Two of the watch towers survived the bombing of 1945 and are now listed by the national Agency for Cultural Affairs as Important Cultural Properties. In stark contrast to the white "Egret Castle" of neighboring Himeji, Okayama Castle has a black exterior, earning it the nickname Crow Castle (烏城, U-jō) or "castle of the black bird". (The black castle of Matsumoto in Nagano is also known as "Crow Castle", but it is karasu-jō in Japanese.) Today, only a few parts of Okayama Castle's roof (including the fish-shaped-gargoyles) are gilded, but prior to the Battle of Sekigahara the main keep also featured gilded roof tiles, earning it the nickname Golden Crow Castle (金烏城, Kin U-jō).

Kōraku-en (後楽園, Kōrakuen) is a Japanese garden located in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture. It is one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, along with Kenroku-en and Kairaku-en. Korakuen was built in 1700 by Ikeda Tsunamasa, lord of Okayama. The garden reached its modern form in 1863. Zhu Zhiyu, one of the greatest scholars of Confucianism in the Ming dynasty and Edo Japan, helped to redesign the garden.

Okayama Symphony Hall (岡山シンフォニーホール, Okayama Shinfonī Hōlu) is a concert hall in Okayama, Okayama, Japan. It opened in 1991 and seats 2,001. Yoshinobu Ashihara was the architect, with acoustical design by Nagata Acoustics.

Okayama Orient Museum (岡山市立オリエント美術館, Okayama Shiritsu Oriento Bijutsukan) is a museum of Ancient Near Eastern, Roman provincial, Byzantine, Sassanian, and Islamic Art in Kita-ku, Okayama, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. As of 2007 there were some 4,852 items, including a winged Assyrian relief from the palace of Ashurnasirpal II in Nimrud, Mesopotamia, acquired to mark the institution's 25th anniversary. The museum was founded to house the collection of Shinjiro Yasuhiro, who acquired thousands of objects with the advice of academics from the University of Tokyo. The museum building has two floors of exhibition galleries to showcase the collection. It was constructed in 1979 by the city of Okayama from a prize-winning design by Okada Architect & Associates.

Okayama Prefectural Museum (岡山県立博物館, Okayama kenritsu hakubutsukan) is a museum in Kita-ku, Okayama, Japan. It was built to house important artifacts from the prefecture dating from prehistory through modern times.

The Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art (岡山県立美術館, Okayama Kenritsu Bijutsukan) is located in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. It is one of Japan's many museums which are supported by a prefecture. The museum, by architects Okada & Associates, opened in 1988 and has a collection of around two thousand works.

Yumeji Art Museum (夢二郷土美術館, Yumeji Kyōdo Bijutsukan) is an art museum in Okayama Prefecture split between the main museum in Naka-ku, Okayama and the Yumeji Seika and Shonen Sanso annex built in Setouchi, the birthplace of Yumeji Takehisa, a poet and artist who was active in the early 1900s.

Inryō-ji (Japanese: 蔭凉寺) is a Buddhist temple in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. It is also known as Inryo-ji, Inryou-ji, or Inryoji. It is a temple of the Myōshin-ji school of the Rinzai sect in Japanese Zen. The temple was founded in 1632 during the Edo period by Ikeda Tadakatsu (the former feudal lord of Okayama who ruled Bizen Province and four districts of Bitchū Province and undertook maintenance of Okayama Castle and expansion of the castle town).

Naka-ku (中区) is one of four wards of Okayama, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. The ward has an area of 51.24 km2 (19.78 sq mi) and a population of 138,949. The population density is 2,711 inhabitants per square kilometer (7,020/sq mi). The name means "Central Ward." The wards of Okayama were established when Okayama became a city designated by government ordinance on April 1, 2009.

TV Setouchi Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (テレビせとうち株式会社, Terebi Setouchi Kabushikigaisha) (TSC), callsign JOPH-DTV (channel 7) is a Japanese television station based in Okayama, serving as the affiliate of the TX Network for the Okayama and Kagawa prefectures.
