Kond

Saint John the Baptist Church (Armenian: Սուրբ Հովհաննես Մկրտիչ Եկեղեցի, Surp Hovhannes Mkrtich) is an active church in the old area of Kond, Yerevan, Armenia. First, it was built on the height of Kond district, in 1710, in the place of a medieval church ruined as the result of a 1689 earthquake. It was built by a rich man, Melik Aghamal, living in Yerevan. Like the other medieval churches, this is a three-nave basilic church. The rectangular plan of the church includes the prayer-hall and the main altar on the eastern side, attached to which are the sacristies.

The Sergei Parajanov Museum (Armenian: Սերգեյ Փարաջանովի թանգարան, romanized: Sergey P'arajanovi t'angaran) is a tribute to Soviet Armenian film director and artist Sergei Parajanov and is one of the most popular museums in Yerevan. It represents Parajanov's diverse artistic and literary heritage.

Yerevan Children's Railway (Armenian: Երևանի մանկական երկաթուղի) is a narrow gauge railroad loop passing through the Hrazdan gorge in Yerevan, Armenia. One of many children's railways that existed in the USSR and continued functioning after its breakup in post-Soviet states, it was opened on June 9, 1937. Master plan and old wood building were designed by architect Mikael Mazmanyan in 1937. The current main Station was designed and built by architect Babken Sedrak Hakobyan in the late 1940s.

Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art (or ACCEA; Armenian: Նորարար Փորձառական Արվեստի Կենտրոն, romanized: Norar Pordzarakan Arvesti Kentovon, or NPAK) is a contemporary art institution founded in 1992, and located in Yerevan, capital of Armenia.

The Modern Art Museum of Yerevan (MAMY, Armenian: Երևանի Ժամանակակից Արվեստի Թանգարան) is an art museum in Yerevan, Armenia. It is located on Mashtots Avenue at the central Kentron District of the capital city of Armenia. The museum was founded in 1972 by the efforts of the painter Henrik Igityan, who was the director of the museum for 37 years and a supporter of then-mayor of Yerevan Grigor Hasratyan.

Saint Sarkis Cathedral (Armenian: Սուրբ Սարգիս Մայր Եկեղեցի (Surp Sarkis Mayr Yekeghetsi)) is an Armenian cathedral in Yerevan, Armenia. It is the seat of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It was built in 1842, on the left bank of the Hrazdan River in Yerevan's Kentron District.

The Blue Mosque is an 18th-century Shia mosque in Yerevan, Armenia. It was commissioned by Hoseyn Ali Khan, the khan of the Iranian Erivan Khanate. It is one of the oldest extant structures in central Yerevan and the most significant structure from the city's Iranian period. It was the largest of the eight mosques of Yerevan in the 19th century and is the only active mosque in Armenia today. The mosque was secularized in the 1920s and housed the History Museum of Yerevan for more than five decades. Following Armenia's independence, the mosque was renovated with support from the Iranian government and again started operating as a mosque, serving the Muslims residing in Armenia.

Hrazdan Stadium (Armenian: Հրազդան մարզադաշտ) is a multi-use, all-seater stadium in Yerevan, Armenia, opened in 1970. Being the largest sports venue in Armenia, Hrazdan was mostly used for football matches. It was the home stadium of the Armenia national football team until 1999 and has hosted the occasional international game since then. The stadium is able to host 54,208 spectators after the most recent reconstruction in 2008, which converted the stadium into an all-seater one. Before the reconstruction, Hrazdan was able to hold up to 70,000 spectators. It was among the top four stadiums of the Soviet Union by its capacity. The stadium hosted the Armenian Cup finals on many occasions, as well as the opening ceremony of the Pan-Armenian Games in 2003. The Soviet Union national team played two games, against Finland and Greece, in Hrazdan in 1978.

Yerevan Brandy Company (Armenian: Երևանի Կոնյակի Գործարան (Yerevani Konyaki Gortsaran)), commonly known with its famous brand "ArArAt", is the leading enterprise of Armenia for the production of cognac. It was founded in 1887, during the period of the Russian Empire. After the Sovietization of Armenia, the factory became a state-owned enterprise. In 1999, the government of independent Armenia sold the factory to the French Pernod Ricard company for distilled beverages. The variety of the company's cognac products are labeled and publicized as ArArAt. The company owns another factory in the town of Armavir, operating since 1966.

Ara Sargsyan and Hakob Kojoyan Museum (Armenian: Արա Սարգսյանի և Հակոբ Կոջոյանի տուն-թանգարան) house museum of Ara Sargsian and Hakob Kojoyan where they lived since 1934 until the foundation of the museum. The museum building is a cultural heritage monument in Armenia.

Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church (Armenian: Սուրբ Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչ եկեղեցի, Surb Grigor Lusavorich yekeghets'i) was an Armenian Apostolic church in Yerevan, Armenia, that was destroyed in 1939. It was where Yeghishe Charents School is now on Amiryan Street, Yerevan.

The Yerevan City Council (Armenian: Երևան քաղաքի ավագանի, romanized: Yerevan k’aghak’i avagani, lit. 'Yerevan Council of Elders') is the lawmaking body of the city of Yerevan, the capital and largest city of Armenia. It has 65 members elected by party-list proportional representation system, headed by the Mayor of Yerevan. The council monitors performance of city agencies and makes land use decisions, as well as, legislating on a variety of other issues. The city council also has sole responsibility for approving the city budget and each member is limited to three consecutive terms in office and can run again after a four-year respite.
