Hrazdan Thermal Power Plant (Hrazdan TPP, Armenian: Հրազդանի ջերմաէլեկտրակայան) is a natural gas-fired power plant in the northwestern part of Hrazdan city, generating electricity in Armenia. It is the largest power plant in Armenia. This power plant was built in 1963–1974, and the first unit became operational in 1966. In 2013, a new unit was added. Four older units of the plant are owned and operated by the Hrazdan Power Company, a subsidiary of Tashir Capital owned by the family of Samvel Karapetyan. The new fifth unit is owned and operated by Gazprom Armenia.

Jrarat (Armenian: Ջրառատ) is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. It was incorporated in 1982 and is the center of the dairy industry.

Makravank (Armenian: Մաքրավանք) is an Armenian church-complex located in the Makravan district of Hrazdan, the capital of Kotayk Province, Armenia. The monastic complex includes a half-ruined 11th-century chapel. The 13th-century church dedicated to Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) has a circular tambour and a conical cupola. The complex also includes the lower walls of the gavit and a medieval cemetery.

Tsaghkadzor (Armenian: Ծաղկաձոր, Armenian pronunciation: [t͡sɑχkɑˈd͡zoɾ]) is a resort town and urban municipal community in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. It is a popular ski and health resort and one of Armenia's most important tourist destinations. It is situated on the eastern side of Mount Teghenis, 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northwest of the provincial capital Hrazdan and 58 kilometres (36 mi) northeast of the capital Yerevan. In antiquity, Tsaghkadzor served as a summer residence for the Arsacid kings of Armenia. It became a notable monastic center after 1033 with the founding of Kecharis Monastery, which stands to this day. Under Soviet rule, Tsaghkadzor was developed into a major resort town. As of the 2022 census, the town had a population of 1,010, down from the population of 1,256 reported in the 2011 census.

Aghavnadzor (Armenian: Աղավնաձոր, also romanized as Akhavnadzor and Agavnadzor) is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Kecharis Monastery (Armenian: Կեչառիսի վանքային համալիր), is a medieval Armenian monastic complex dating back to the 11th to 13th centuries, located 60 km from Yerevan, in the ski resort town of Tsaghkadzor in Armenia. Kecharis monastery, formerly called Kecharuk, was built in the Ayrarat region of ancient Armenia, in Varazhnunk, the 18th province, which included much of the present-day Hrazdan, Sevan and Ijevan. In the time of the Arsacid dynasti, this province was a royal hunting preserve. It then became the property of the Varazhnuni family. As far back as the 1st century, the region belonged to the Pahlavuni princes and was called Tzaghkanots. Nestled in the Pambak mountains, Kecharis was founded by a Pahlavuni prince in the 11th century, and construction continued until the middle of the 13th century with its acquisition by the Proshian family. In the 12th and 13th centuries, Kecharis was a major religious center of Armenia and a place of higher education. Today, the monastery has been fully restored and is clearly visible from the ski slopes. The domes of the two main churches were heavily damaged in an earthquake in 1927. The buildings were conserved during the period of the Armenian SSR, and rebuilding work started in the 1980s. A series of nationwide problems led to a halt in the rebuilding for about a decade as the 1988 Armenian earthquake hit, the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the First Nagorno-Karabakh War broke out, and Armenia was blockaded by its two allied Turkic neighbors. Rebuilding work resumed at Kecharis in 1998 and finished in 2000. The restarted work was paid for by an Armenian donor from Vienna, Vladimir Harutyunian, in memory of his parents Harutyun and Arsenik.

Makravan is a district of the town of Hrazdan and a former village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. Upon the 12 January 1963 decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR on the territorial changes in the state, the villages of Atarbekyan, Jrarat, Kakavadzor and Makravan have been merged within the town of Hrazdan. The Makravank Monastery of the 10th to 13th centuries is located in the district.

Tsaghkadzor Olympic Sports Complex (Armenian: Ծաղկաձորի Օլիմպիական Մարզահամալիր), is a multi-sport training complex in the mountain resort town of Tsaghkadzor, Kotayk Province, Armenia. It was opened in 1967 a state-owned sports complex of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. It was entirely renovated between 2007 and 2008 with an estimated cost of US$ 8 million.

Tsaghkadzor Ski Resort, is a sports and tourists facilities located just above the Armenian town of Tsaghkadzor of Kotayk Province, approximately 60 km north east of the capital Yerevan and the Zvartnots International Airport. It was opened in 1986 adjacent to the Tsaghkadzor Olympic Sports Complex.

Akhbrak (also, Akhpyurak and Agpara) is a town in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Marmarik (Armenian: Մարմարիկ), is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Meghradzor (Armenian: Մեղրաձոր), meaning, valley of honey; formerly known as Taycharukh), is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia, 15 kilometres (9 mi) northwest of Hrazdan. The village is located to the south of the Tsaghkunyats mountain range, along the left bank of the Marmarik River. It was founded my immigrants from Aratsap in 1830 and is well known for its famous honey, hence, the name Meghradzor literally translates to valley of honey. The nearby village of Gorgoch is also included in the community of Meghradzor. The community has a secondary school, kindergarten, first aid station, house of culture, and library. The local economy is heavily dependent on agriculture, based predominantly on beekeeping, cattle-breeding, and farming (potatoes, cabbages, and grains). There is also a disused gold mine north of Meghradzor that has been in use since the 19th century. In the foothills nearby, to the south, is the 12th-century walled Chalcedonian Armenian Tejharuyk Monastery.
