Augusta Downtown Historic District

The Woodrow Wilson Boyhood Home is a historic house museum at 419 7th Street in Augusta, Georgia. Built in 1859, it was a childhood home of Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924), the 28th president of the United States and proponent of the League of Nations. The house is owned and operated by Historic Augusta, Inc., and was designated a National Historic Landmark on October 6, 2008.

The Broad Street Historic District in Augusta, Georgia is a 70 acres (28 ha) historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1980. It includes 158 contributing buildings.The Historic District portion of Broad Street stretches from 13th to 5th Streets. Starting at 13th Street (U.S. Route 25 Business/Georgia State Route 4), Broad Street picks up the US 25 Business designation. This section has double-sided median parking. At 11th Street, the open parking in the median ends and a shaded, submerged parking pit in the median begins. This is Broad Street at its widest point. At the intersection with 6th Street, the chamber of commerce building can be found in the median.

Joseph Rucker Lamar Boyhood Home is the boyhood home of Joseph Rucker Lamar in Augusta, Georgia. Lamar served as Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 13, 1996. It is located at 415 7th Street. The house was constructed in 1860. It is located in the Augusta Downtown Historic District, is the headquarters of Historic Augusta, and is used as a visitors center for the Boyhood Home of Woodrow Wilson.

The Old Medical College Building is a historic academic building at 598 Telfair Street in Augusta, Georgia, US. It was built in 1835 for the Medical College of Georgia, then and now one of the leading medical schools of the American South. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1996 for its sophisticated Greek Revival architecture, and for the role the school played in the establishment of the American Medical Association and the standardization of medical practices.

The Four Southern Poets Monument, also known as the Monument to Southern Poets and Poets' Monument, is a granite monument in Augusta, Georgia, in the United States.

Signers Monument is a granite obelisk located on Greene Street in Augusta, Georgia recognizing the state's three signatories of the Declaration of Independence: George Walton, Lyman Hall, and Button Gwinnett, all of whom are considered Founding Fathers of the United States. The remains of Walton and Hall lay beneath the monument, while Gwinnett's have not been located for certain.

The Jessye Norman School of the Arts is a free, comprehensive after-school arts program serving mostly disadvantaged middle and high school students in Augusta, Georgia, United States. It was founded in 2003 by the Rachel Longstreet Foundation, Inc. and was funded in large part during its first year by its namesake, the celebrated opera singer and Augusta native Jessye Norman, who was very involved in the life of the School in the following years. The School, a 501(c)(3) organization, offers courses in dance, drama, visual art, music (both instrumental and vocal) and creative writing on the same academic schedule as the Richmond County School District.

The Miller Theater is a former movie theater and vaudeville house in Augusta, Georgia. The Miller was built by architect Roy A. Benjamin utilizing the Arte Moderne style of architecture and was owned by Frank Miller. Due to an economic downturn in the 1980s in downtown Augusta, the theater was forced to close. It sat dormant until 2005 when it was purchased by local Augusta businessman and entrepreneur Peter S. Knox IV. The first action taken after the purchase of the theater was to repair the roof to stop further damage to the structure. The theater reopened on January 6, 2018 to a sold out gala featuring Sutton Foster performing with Augusta Symphony Orchestra (Augusta, Georgia).

Congregation of B'nai Israel Synagogue is a Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue, located at 525 Telfair Street, in Augusta, Georgia, in the United States. The synagogue building is the oldest synagogue in Georgia. Dedicated in 1869 in the Greek Revival-style, the synagogue is a contributing property of the Augusta Downtown Historic District, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

James Brown Arena (formerly known as Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center) is a multi-purpose complex located in Augusta, Georgia. It is managed by Spectra Experiences. It features an 8,000-seat arena, renamed the James Brown Arena, in honor of musician James Brown on August 22, 2006. The complex also features a 2,800-seat theater, the William B. Bell Auditorium, and a 14,500-square-foot (1,350 m2) exhibit hall that opens into a 23,000-square-foot (2,100 m2) arena floor. The James Brown Arena is the former home of the ECHL's Augusta Lynx from 1998 to 2008, the AF2's Augusta Stallions from 2000 to 2002, Augusta Spartans from 2006 to 2007, and the Southern Professional Hockey League's Augusta RiverHawks from 2010 to 2013. The Arena hosted UFC 11. The arena has also hosted many concerts and pro wrestling events, including ECW's December to Dismember in 2006. Many bands have played the arena including Van Halen, Rush, Heart, Bob Seger, REO Speedwagon, KISS, Bon Jovi, Molly Hatchet, John Cougar, Kansas, Charlie Daniels Band, Alabama, Blackfoot, Mother's Finest, Ratt, Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, Marshall Tucker Band, and Loverboy. The center-hung Fair Play scoreboard dates to the arena's opening in 1980, and in recent years has been joined by additional scoreboards and a Trans-Lux LED video display which can be found at each end of the arena.

The Augusta Confederate Monument, also known as the Richmond County Confederate Monument, is located in the median of the 700 block of Broad Street in downtown Augusta, Georgia, and is inscribed, in part “In Memoriam 'No nation rose so white and fair: None fell so pure of crime.' Our Confederate Dead.” The monument is seventy-six feet high on a granite base, topped by a shaft of Carrara marble. The monument was commissioned in 1875 by the Ladies Memorial Association of Augusta. It was designed by the architectural firm of VanGruder and Young of Philadelphia, built by the Markwalter firm of Augusta, carved by Antonio Fontana, and dedicated on October 31, 1878. Around the base of the monument are the life size statues of four Southern generals in the American Civil War: Thomas R. R. Cobb, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and William H. T. Walker.
