Pursglove is an unincorporated community in Monongalia County, West Virginia, United States and one of the communities that make up the Scotts Run region. Pursglove is located on U.S. Route 19, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) northwest of downtown Morgantown. Pursglove has a post office with ZIP code 26546.

Scotts Run is a geographical division of the Cass District in Monongalia County, West Virginia, United States. Currently, it encompasses thirteen small, unincorporated communities. Located a few miles from Morgantown, this area's predominant industry in the early twentieth century was coal mining and production. Scotts Run became well known nationally during the years of the Great Depression, when photographers and the relief efforts of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt publicized the impoverished conditions faced by the community. Since the decline in the coal industry in the area, Scotts Run's population has rapidly decreased. However, the current community is active in revitalization efforts to promote new businesses and heritage tourism.

Cassville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Monongalia County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,268 at the 2020 census. It is included in the Morgantown, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cassville was named after Lewis Cass, a prominent American statesman who served as Secretary of War, Secretary of State, and Governor of Michigan.

Dents Run Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge located near Laurel Point, Monongalia County, West Virginia, United States. It was built in 1889, and spans Dents Run. The bridge is of Kingpost truss construction and measures 12 feet and 10 inches wide and 40 feet long. By 1981, it was one of only 17 covered bridges left in West Virginia.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

The Edith B. Barill Bridge, more commonly known as the Star City Bridge, was completed in 2004 and connects Star City, West Virginia with Interstate 79 and western Monongalia County. The bridge serves as a primary means of access to the north side of Morgantown. The former Star City Bridge was built in 1950. In 2002, that bridge was demolished and replaced by the current five-lane bridge that was completed in 2004. It has since been dedicated the Edith Barill Bridge after a long-time Star City mayor but is still generally known as the Star City Bridge.The new Star City Bridge is equipped with over 700 sensors that measure the weight, speed, and number of vehicles that cross it. This data will be studied at West Virginia University, and used to study the effect of everyday traffic on the bridge, but especially large, commercial trucks. The sensors will also measure how the bridge expands and contracts in the different temperatures of each season. The data will be used for the West Virginia Division of Highways to find and correct weak points in the bridge.
