Sielce

The Sielce Park (Polish: Park Sielecki) is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland. It is located in the neighbourhood of Sielce, within the district of Mokotów, and placed around the Sielce Lake, and next to Jana III Sobieskiego Avenue. The park was originally opened in 1775 as an English landscape garden, and was developed to its current form in the 1960s.

Miguel de Cervantes Liceum, officially the Miguel de Cervantes XXXIV General Education Liceum with Bilingual Branches in Warsaw, is a public general education liceum (secondary school) in Warsaw, Poland. In the years 1945-1991 was named the Karol Świerczewski Liceum.

Sobieskiego 100, nicknamed "Spyville" (Polish: "Szpiegowo"), is a housing complex located at 100 Sobieskiego Street in the Sielce neighborhood of the Mokotów district of Warsaw, Poland. It was developed during the time of the People's Republic of Poland in the late-1970s as accommodation for Soviet diplomats. The complex was widely rumoured to be inhabited by spies, giving rise to its nickname. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, its ownership (along with that of several other buildings used by the Russian Embassy) was the subject of a longstanding dispute. In 2022, in the context of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, the long-abandoned complex was seized from the Government of Russia by Polish authorities and transferred to the Warsaw City Council which pledged to use it for the benefit of Ukrainian refugees in Warsaw.

Yuri Gagarin Street (ulica Jurija Gagarina) is a major street in the Mokotów district of Warsaw, named after the first man in space. Yuri Gagarin Street was established around 1957 as Nowoparkowa Street. It was established in the place of the streets of the former Sielce settlement, laid out at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. At the same time, a tram track was built on which trams 16, 33 and 33 "BIS" ran. In June 1961 the street was given the name of Yuri Gagarin.During the 1939-45 German occupation, in building no. 33 (at that time ul. Podchorążych 101), there was a tobacco shop run by Zofia Nałkowska and her sister Hanna.

St. Olga's Church was an Orthodox church in Warsaw, built between 1902 and 1903 for the Grodno Hussar Regiment of the Imperial Guard. It was demolished before 1935.

The Monument to the Soldiers of the Peasant Battalions and the People's Union of Women is a monument in Warsaw, Poland. It is placed at the intersection of Czerniakowska Street and Polski Walczącej Avenue, within the neighbourhood of Czerniaków in the district of Mokotów. The monument commemorates soldiers of the Peasant Battalions and the People's Union of Women, resistance organisations active in Poland during the Second World War. It is placed at the intersection of Czerniakowska Street and Polski Walczącej Avenue, within the neighbourhood of Czerniaków in the district of Mokotów. It was designed Agnieszka Świerzowicz-Maślaniec and Marek Maślaniec, and unveiled on 8 October 2019.

The Józef Bem Monument (Polish: Pomnik Józefa Bema) is a monument in Warsaw, Poland, placed in the Royal Baths park, within the Downtown district. It consists of a bust of Józef Bem, a 19th-century military officer, who was a leader of the Polish insurgent forcess during the November Uprising. It was designed by Bohdan Święcicki, and unveiled in 1924. Originally it was placed at Dwudziestego Dziewiątego Listopada Street, and it was moved to its current location in 2004.

Czerniaków is a neighbourhood of the city of Warsaw, located within the borough of Mokotów, between the escarpment of the Vistula river and the river itself. Called Czerniakowo since the Middle Ages, it was then merely a small village located well to the south of the Warsaw's Old Town. In the 19th century the area became densely built-up and became populated mostly by factory workers and other lower classes of society, which gave birth to a specific local version of the Warsaw dialect. During the Warsaw Uprising the area was one of the last Polish strongholds.

Łazienki Park or Royal Baths Park (Polish: Park Łazienkowski, Łazienki Królewskie) is the largest park in Warsaw, Poland, occupying 76 hectares of the city center. The park-and-palace complex lies in Warsaw's central district (Śródmieście) on Ujazdów Avenue, which is part of the Royal Route linking the Royal Castle with Wilanów Palace to the south. North of Łazienki Park, on the other side of Agrykola Street, stands Ujazdów Castle. Originally designed in the 17th century as a baths park for nobleman Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski, in the 18th century Łazienki was transformed by Poland's last monarch, Stanislaus II Augustus, into a setting for palaces, villas, classicist follies, and monuments. In 1918 it was officially designated a public park. Łazienki is visited by tourists from all over Poland and the world, and serves as a venue for music, the arts, and culture. The park is also home to peacocks and a large number of squirrels.

The Palace on the Isle (Polish: Pałac Na Wyspie), also known as Baths Palace (Polish: Pałac Łazienkowski), is a classicist palace in Warsaw's Royal Baths Park, the city's largest park, occupying over 76 hectares of the city center. From 1674 the property and the nearby Ujazdów Castle belonged to Count Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski, who commissioned a Baroque bath house called "Łazienka", similarly to a number of other European historic sites, including England's city of Bath. The building, erected on a square plan, was richly decorated with stuccos, statues, and paintings; some of the original decorations and architectural details survive. In 1766 King Stanislaus Augustus purchased the estate and converted the bathing pavilion into a classicist summer residence, with an English garden. During the final stages of World War II, the retreating Germans devastated the interior of the Palace and drilled holes in the structure in preparation for destruction. However, the plan was never carried out.
